Lakeveil stepped out from her tunnel den, stretching as sunlight hit her back. In the recent days, things had been busy. First with Dinara's kitting, and with Kaliko's training, it seemed like she wouldn't catch a break.
For now though, she was free, and for once, she wasn't exactly certain what to do. Blazehowl was almost certainly busy with his kits, and her own kits were off doing whatever. Hopefully Cesare wasn't being too harsh to the Voiny... but of course she couldn't guarantee that. All she could do was try to prevent him from ending up on trial, though he seemed to invite trouble wherever he went. The curse of Tiveronah dedicates, one could suppose.
She headed for the freshkill pile where the tithes were laid, thinking to eat first before exploring around. It was as good an idea as any, at least.
"Lakeveil!" Strigoi called in jaunty greeting the tabby highlander tom bouncing over to her, bobbed tail swinging as his golden eyes alighted upon her. The ribbon hanging around his neck holding the silver bell sliding at his enthusiastic movements. "I've been wondering for awhile now; but how come you carry a traditional clan name? From my understanding you were born into the monarchy?" The High Priest could be wrong though, his knowledge of most of these cats history iffy at best really.
She turned towards the sound of the voice, a pleasant smile on her face as the question left his lips. It was a good question, after all. Why did she have a clan name, when the other royal houses, and even her own kits, did not share this trait? The explanation was rather simple, at least, and the Vrachii chuckled slightly at the misinformed Priest. "Ah, hello Strigoi!" Lakeveil greeted lightly. "You would actually be incorrect. I was not born into the Monarchy at all. In fact, my kits, Killian and Cesare, were born when BrookClan was first accepted into the Monarchy. All of the Sterlings, aside from my own kits, my mother's youngest litter, and my brother Blazehowl's kits, were born before Primal Instinct drove us out of our territory." In fact, aside from Silentheart, her and her twin were the eldest of the Sterling line, knowing a time when BrookClan still worshiped StarClan.
Strigoi nodded, though all he had gathered from her words were that she was much older than she looked and that she had watched the monarchy come to be. "Oh! That must give you an interesting perspective then." He hummed as he considered what it must have been like to watch the different families rise and fall. "Though I also can't claim to envy you. I think I like having come in fresh, I find it refreshing." He didn't mention how easily bored he grew; how many homes he had left behind due to starting to find them dull.
"In some ways. I think I like having watched things as they have come to be. Gives you the chance to really be involved." Lakeveil commented with a slight smile. After all, her own family had strongly backed both coups in BrookClan history, at the push of her and her brother, mainly. First Kerrigan, and then when she disappointed them, Tasman. Thus far, she seemed content enough with Loki, perhaps because she'd achieved a worthwhile rank above simple royalty.
