Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
indy @sinful syzygykomiharuuniqcrim The last time her mother had given any attention to her, she still went by her birth name, Bria. As soon as her mother left, though, the eldest of the daughters of Shae quickly dropped the a. She became just Bri. Some had wondered if it was an act of defiance, one last way to flip her mother the metaphorical bird. If this was true at all, it was not the whole truth. Bria had always felt clumsy in her mouth, and she had waited patiently for the day that she could shed it.
Imagine her surprise, then, when Shae reappeared, this time with another rag tag bunch of kittens. Funny, how this litter was good enough to claim. Bri and her sisters never had been, at least not until they were older and started to manifest old Crow charm. It set off a smolder in her chest to know that such a reality was not the one that these kittens faced. Was it jealousy that prompted this? Perhaps. After all, she was probably lucky that Shae had avoided playing house with her.
Bri blinked the thoughts away, looking at the tyros that sat in front of her. This was their first meeting, one Bri had set up to extract information from her youngest sisters. How much did they know about their mother ? Did they see the wolf under the sheep’s clothing?
She was the smallest, the most frail. It was obvious. It really wasn’t by her own volition- well, maybe half of it was, but the other half was just constant neglect and misfortune set up by her siblings. Kallie crouched in the back, brown tabby top half almost blending with the dilapidated city background. Out of sight, out of mind.
Her gaze drifted first to the kitten that looked the least like she was happy to be there. She didn't know any of their names, but the frail one reminded her of Satana, the smallest of the litter Bri had come from. Bri and the others had always taken their aggressions, the ones caused mostly by Shae, out on little Satana. Was the dynamic the same here? Bri couldn't be sure. After all, most of these kittens looked weak...
"You," she meowed, her gaze still locked on Kallie. "What's your name?"
Lane-kedi glanced briefly towards Kallie-kedi, wondering if her sister would even bother giving this 'Bri' cat a response. Kallie was nice enough, but Shae's 'special' parenting methods and overall lack of support from her sisters had damaged the young she-kit - perhaps beyond repair if Lane were a pessimist, which she was. Lane knew that she herself was partially to blame for that, but for some reason she couldn't exactly pin down, she just...didn't care to try and fix it.
Clearing her throat, Lane decided she'd answer for her sister after all. Whether or not Kallie would appreciate it was up in the air. "That's Kallie!" she chirped, showing Bri her pearly whites, "and I'm Lane! It's very nice to meet you," she added - a little more shyly this time, with a small curtsy-ish gesture to follow it.
Kallie cowered behind her sister as she introduced them both together. Her small frame crouched and tried to make herself look as small as possible. "H... Hello...." Her voice could barely be heard above the level of a whisper.

Wes-kedi could not help but scoff as she watched her sister cower and the other protect her. Useless and weak. Neither of them would get anywhere like that. She was young but the she-kit already knew this much. The young brown tabby carefully tucked her paws under her and looked up at Bri with cold and calculating ice blue eyes. She tilted her head curiously and wondered what the she-cat who sat before them wanted. She did not say anything, however, and merely continued to observe and watch with her emotionless stare.
"Kallie, Lane, that one's Finn," Bri meowed, more to herself than anyone. She was commiting the names to memory. The way Kallie acted, it seemed that Bri's suspicion that things were not very great in these kitten's lives was confirmed. She blinked. Bria felt a pang of feeling echo through her chest, but she said nothing of it. "How about you?" she asked, nodding to the one who hadn't spoken yet. There were a coouple of name options for the last one.
"I'm Bri, your oldest sister," she then meowed after a moment, as if forgetting that she hadn't formally introduced herself.
Lane gave Wes brief glance, short but cold in its blandless. "That's Wes," she informed Bri, her tone light, but devoid of the forced cheerfulness that had accompanied her introduction of Kallie. "You seem like a nice lady, Bri. Do we have any other family like you?" As in, any family not like Shae? was the underlying question; if Bri had dealt with Shae before, then Lane was sure she'd understand.
She winced slightly. Bri hasn’t always been nice. In fact, there was a period of her life where she had shaped to follow the footsteps of her mother. That had changed, though, when she lost Aristotle and Dante. Well, at least Aristotle. She had seen her daughter’s body first hand. Dante, on the other hand? There was still a chance that her other daughter had made a life somewhere else. She shuddered at the memory, before blinking. “Well, there’s Ryss. He’s our... cousin? Uncle ? You know, I’m not entirely sure. He tends to pretend that he’s not related to Ma as much as possible.” As do the rest of us, went her unspoken thought.
