Her flank rose up and down calmly as she dozed in the midday sun. While the other apprentices were out and about, Giantpaw had taken the opportunity to work in her afternoon nap. It was a wonder how when everyone was struggling with nightmares, the orange and white cat was able to sleep so soundly. Moorpaw always teased her and said that she spent more time sleeping instead of being awake to catch the sickness.

"Guess what!" Crimsonpaw came running into the den full of excitement. "We're back and we've found the cure!" He wanted to tell all his denmates but only Giantpaw was in the den at the time. He went over to her nest and nudged her with his paw. "Did you hear me?" he asked.
