Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Deerpaw has yet to even tell her mother the new she was about to share with a tom she’d only met a handful of times. He had consumed her interest fairly quickly, and she had been reckless. Truthfully the apprentice was excited for the new adventure she would be embarking on shortly; that of motherhood. It did not escape her that those in her clans and others would be disappointed at the fact that one so young was with child. But she cared not. Deerpaw was one to live in the moment and hers was the excitement that came with motherhood.
Rushing as fast as her paws could go, she made her way to the last place she saw her lover. WinterClan’s border was within sight, with the sun just peaking over the horizon. In her opinion, she was starting g the day with good news. She merely hoped he was close by so she would not have to wait long to share it.
A white tom with thick fur struck through with shades of brown fur and baby blue eyes made his way across the harsh terrain, stumbling in the deep snow. But as he climbed further down the mountain the snow level lowered and his steps gained some assuriety. Blood dripped from his face, drops trailing out behind him. Speaking towards scene of chaos he had fled; though perhaps chaos was not the right word. Morningpaw had been the clear loser in his fight with his siblings; but he refused to show it. Would no resort to licking his wounds until he was far from Winterclan.
She'd caught a brief glance of him, causing her smile to grow. "Morningpaw!" Deerpaw raced over towards her, head and tail high, eyes stuck on him. She nearly tripped over a tree branch in her haste, causing a blush to rush to her cheeks. Brushing her pelt across his when she got close enough, the sandy brown apprentice couldn't contain her happiness, but it diminished when she saw his face. "Is something wrong?"
(I was thinking only two kits, a girl and a boy. The girl looking just like him named Morningrose, and the boy that looks like her named Mudstone. Only problem is I don't know what he looks like)
The tom pulled away from her, unable to hide his expression twisting at her assumed familiarity. "Why are you here Deerpaw?" He cut right to the chase, glancing over his shoulder and knowing Ghoulmask and Eveningpaw probably wouldn't follow him when they were so shaken by what had happened. He kept his head high, despite the way the left side of his face was covered in blood; eye swollen shut from the damage done by Ghoulmask's claws. Refusing to show how much it pained him; how much he burned at the betrayal by his own siblings.
A good look, one that showed more than a sour temper, was all it took to take away her good and excited mood. "Are you okay? No, that's a dumb question. Come, I'll help you back to your clan. You should see the medicine cat." She couldn't even hear what he was saying to her in her worry. Concern was eating at her heart at the sight of his injuries, mind racing to find answers to where they could have come from. Deerpaw moved to his left side from there she could defend the tom if needed, least whoever attacked him come again. Her own worries about impending motherhood could wait, so could the news that she'd come to share with him about it and to hear what his thoughts were on the matter. They didn't seem as important at the moment.
"Get off Deerpaw!" He snapped as he pulled away from her support, flinching harshly at her very touch. He wanted no one to touch him, needed no one, his siblings had proven what a mistake it was to even for a second entertain the thought anyone could be trusted. "And we can't go back to Winterclan, that's where I got my eye torn out." He sneered as if she was an idiot. In his mind it was obvious. "Now why are you here?" He repeated his question in a hiss.
“I...” She wasn’t one to be at a lose for words, but she was shocked to learn that his home was what caused his eye to be lost, that he shock her off. The mere fact that he yelled at her was a shock. He’d never done that before. Their relationship was young, new; hardly more than a summer love. Yet, she’d fallen and hard for the fantasy they resided in. Deerpaw could see now that things weren’t the way she’d always saw them. “I came to tell you some news...I’m...” She took a step back, tears filling her eyes, “I’m pregnant. I just thought you’d want to know since you’ll be a dad.” Her words were rushed and she kept talking, filling the air. “You can come to EarthClan. Live there. My family would welcome you. I’d welcome you! And you could be a dad. And...”
"Pray tell Deerpaw, what makes you think I want to be a dad?" He hissed lowly, something dangerous entering his gaze as he narrowed his blue eye on her. That cat he had been when they met had long since withered away inside him, leaving something broken and charred in its place. Something that saw the prospect of the other carrying kits and wanting him to play family with her repulsive. "And why would I want to join Earthclan? It'd be just another place to trap me, and one even weaker than Winterclan was."
Who wouldn't want to be a dad? Her own father spoke of her and her siblings fondly every chance he got, made the job seem like the best thing in the word. The same for her mother. "Trap you? I'd never! It's..it's merely an option. You don't have to just go! I..I don't understand! Why have things changed? We were fine, in love just last month!" Things were so sudden, changing before her eyes before she could even blink. Deerpaw could hardly keep up as she blinked away tears, only making room for more to take their place.
"What love?" He sneered, blood still dripping down his features. "It was infatuation on your side and idle curiosity on my part." His words were harsh, sharp enough to cut down the tallest of trees. He hunched his shoulders and went to push past her. Eager to escape her stricken gaze and go lick his wounds. Already angry enough and hating that she was around to see him at his weakest.
She was shocked, hurt, and so, so very confused. Her mother had always warned her to stay calm, but how could one like this? “Fine! Then forget I ever said anything! I’ll raise them. They’ll never even know you. Won’t need to!” Anger courses through Deerpaw, her eyes closed trying in vain to block the tears as she all but yelled at him. “They’ll know at least I loved them!”
"Hopefully your dramatics don't push them from you as well then." He called over his shoulder cruelly, sneer still affixed to his expression. Such a child she was, thinking he cared about her, with her foolish ideas about love. Morningpaw would have thought that his dismissal of her and her pregnancy would have made it clear that he didn't care at all if the kits knew him or not. If she hunted him down in a number of moons and told him they had all been eaten by foxes at birth he would be no sadder than he was before gaining the news. His heart had no room in it anymore for positive emotions, rotted and torn out as it was.
(What clan is he going to? And what will be his name/warrior name? I'd like to give that information at the kitting and I'll add it to my family tree for this family. Also we can end this thread if you'd like)
Deerpaw was frozen, merely watching him go. What could she do? No one could force the tom to stay and clearly, he cared not what happened to her or his children. Even her little angry outburst had done her no good in finding reason with him. Her paws gave out beneath her, due to her shock, her disbelief, just in general. Her tears never stopped as she watched him go.
(he's in pi right now still with the name Morningpaw. might move/change names later but i'll let you know if and or when it happens. We shall end here then. I'd love to adopt one of his kiddies. )
Sure. Which would you like? There’s Morningrose and Mudstone with Morningrose looking like her father and Mudstone like his mother but fur a little darker
