Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(Technically this happens in Haven which is RR's heaven but there is nowhere else to put this cx)
While she had died many many moons ago, Jasmine had never stopped caring for her family. She had watched over her mate and children from Haven and she couldn't be more proud of the cats they had become. Things were a bit different for her now though. There was more of a bounce in her step and her eyes were once again shining with the happiness she had felt in life. It had only been a few moons since Slawn had joined her in Haven, but those few moons had restored a happiness she had not felt in a very long time.
She was smiling even now as she came to his side. She nuzzled his cheek before settling down beside him. "How are you feeling today?" It had honestly taken her a while to adjust to living in Haven. Maybe it was because she hadn't been ready to leave her family behind despite her reassurances to them that she was, but she wanted to make sure that her mate was not feeling the same off feeling that she had carried for moons on end.
Even before he saw her, the sweet sound of Jasmine's voice brought a smile to the pitch-black tom's face. Slawn let out a loving purr as he turned to return her nuzzle, licking her head and wrapping his long tail around her. These small moments with his beloved mate, they were what kept him going even when his aging mind had distorted reality. Now, finally, the two of them were together again. With hope, every day would be like this. Forever.
Leaning into her, the former Mercenary let out a tired sigh. "I'm doin' alright," he answered, glancing over to meet her warm gaze. "We're ghosts after all; pretty sure it's impossible to feel bad anymore." Despite his attempt at a joke, there was a hint of sadness in his voice. Unlike Jasmine, who had many seasons of experience with being dead, the memories of the living world were still fresh in Slawn's mind. Not to mention everyone he had left behind...
(Idk someone told me it was Haven. If it is the void then I shall call it the void cx)
"You get used to it in time. It is hard at first, but just be patient. All we can do now is guide them through their dreams." She flicked his ear with her tail. "You are allowed to be troubled you know. We really aren't so different from the living." It was a bit easier for her now, but that didn't mean that she didn't miss her living family. She had been forced to watch them struggle from here, unable to do a thing to help them. It was harder than anyone could have ever imagined.
"Hey! Remember when that fox got into the tunnels? That was when we truly met remember?" She suddenly jumped to her paws. If nothing else, leaving her weakened body had freed her from the sickness that had sapped her strength and energy. She was truly free here which was more than she could have said in her life. "You were always so grumpy back then. Honestly, I always thought it was adorable." It was a sudden subject change, but dwelling on the past and those that were left behind tended to hurt more than it helped. All they could do was guide them when they were given the chance to do so.
(Honestly, Haven sounds better. So either works I guess. Or maybe Haven is where the ghosts go, and the Void is what living cats see?)
"How could I possibly forget?" Slawn laughed, slowly rising to his paws beside her. Seeing his mate's newfound energy filled his heart with joy; after so much suffering, Jasmine was able to do whatever she wanted now. It was more than he could've possibly dreamed for her. "I wouldn't have called myself grumpy though...I was a Sentinel, and I took the responsibility with that job extremely seriously. I suppose I was more like Shule back then than I realized. It's funny, really, I honestly never paid much attention to any of the Guiders before I met you. When that fox attacked, I ran to help because it was the right thing to do; it was my job to protect my groupmates. I am eternally glad I did."
As he thought back to those days, so many countless seasons ago, something suddenly occurred to Slawn. He turned to face Jasmine. "By the way, I haven't seen Sabre around anywhere. How is he doing?" The tom had never gotten along with his mate's brother when they were alive, but he supposed none of that mattered anymore. Perhaps they could finally let bygones be bygones?
Jasmine tilted her head to the side. "Sabre? He isn't dead. He is still with the Regime." Of course he had secluded himself after her death even moreso than Apollo. The difference would be that Apollo tended to focus on his work though. Sabre just never found a way to deal with his grief. "My passing hurt Sabre deeply. He's always blamed himself for failing to come up with a cure. He hasn't left the garden in quite a long time. She was worried honestly. Secluding himself to such an extent wasn't healthy, but from here there was absolutely nothing she could do to help him.
