Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Training an apprentice was honestly not something that Frostcloud wanted to do. She would do her best of course since she wanted her clanmates to see that she was the best at everything she did. The extra training she received at night also saw to that. Well, there was that and having an apprentice could be interesting. If she played her cards right, perhaps she could gain a follower or a pawn to do her bidding. Now that her sister was out of the way, she was ready to move on to bigger and better things.
"Unseenpaw, are you ready? It is time to begin your training." She had spent the rest of the day yesterday watching her apprentice clear out the senators den. She knew that they had most likely been hoping for training, but that bit of disappointment she had been looking for would have been so amusing. Either way, the real work began today. First she needed to make sure Unseepaw was up and ready for the day.
The black she-cat dipped her head respectfully "Yes Frostcloud" Honestly she wasn't sure what to make of her new mentor just yet. She had been sent to clean the senator's den for most of the day yesterday. It wasn't that she really minded the work, but it was the fact that the cat who was supposed to be guiding her had already pushed her to the side like all the others. Due to her blindness, most cats looked right past her not even attempting to get to know her. Her startling blue eyes was the first thing that everyone saw, and it was where they stopped looking. Very few cats knew her.... fewer understood her...
"Good. We will begin training immediately." She turned to go. "You may eat once training is complete." Her voice was matter of fact now. Her apprentice had the slight disadvantage of being blind, but that didn't mean she was going to go easy on her. Even if she had her spend her entire first day cleaning the Senator's den, she would accept nothing less than perfection. Having a failure as an apprentice would only make her look bad. "We will start with basic hunting skills, but first lets find a good place to start."
"As you wish..." she trailed off, trying to be respectful of this cat. Not that Frostcloud was making it very easy. He mentor seemed a little rough around the edges, but she supposed that they were stuck togather now. She walked behind her, keeping rather close. She used the sounds of her mentor's footsteps to help guide her through the unfamiliar terrain, even though she did stumble a few times.
"Today we will begin with basic hunting. You cannot learn to fight unless you have a basic understanding of how to hunt." She slowed to a halt after a while and turned to face Unseenpaw. "Now tell me, what can you hear around you?"
It made sense to start with hunting, but it wasn't something that she had done very much of. There wasn't any prey in camp, so she wasn't really sure how she would do. Luckily, the first question was something that she excelled at. While her vision failed her, her ears did not. Her fuzzy black ears swivveled around her head picking up on small sounds "I can hear the wind whistling through some sort of tall foliage, there is a mouse over to my right. It sounds like it his rustling leafs so it is probably in a bush instead of out in the open. There are also birds in the tree up ahead, and running water in the distance"
