Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Ryss' body slunk through the city in powerful strides. He was a large golden tom with deep indigo eyes. This suggested the line from which he was heralded from; after all, blue eyes ran in the family. The older tom, though, didn't expect the new cats to remember. After all, empires had risen and fallen since the age where his family was known. Now, they were just like any other family, except for when his cousin came around. Shae, oh Shae. There was a part of the tom that was angry that it was always her that got the power. This was her third time that she showed up unnannounced and took the throne. It unnerrved him. Why, when none of those who stayed here their entire lives seemed worthy, did she automatically place first every time?
Pluto could see the angry tom, though he knew not why who he was. For all the High Sage knew, he was not a social creature and hardly conversed with those around him. This left him with little knowledge besides that of one's name, but alas he could not recall this cat's. If he was new to the clan, then that would explain why for a lot had happened recently to keep his eyes focused elsewhere and not on those who'd recently joined them. The dark forest brown tom stepped out from where he'd been standing; not hiding but observing the other tom from a distance, concealed within that of an overgrown bush. "Hello."
Ryss' head snapped to attention, his eyes narrowed. He didn't like it when other cats snuck up on him. It was an invasion, and he already just wanted to be alone. He didn't need anything to make his desire to be alone even worse. Yet, there the High Sage was, doing the exact thing that Ryss hated most. However, the tom knew he couldn't smack around Pluto; like it or not, the tom was an important one.
"Hi." He tried to keep his voice as level as possible, but the older tom was never good at keeping his emotions out of his visage or tone. That was always Shae's cup of tea, one that was too bitter for him to drink.
"Oh, it seems something is troubling you?" It was his job to tend to injuries, some just happened to be that of the mind. Could this be one of those moments? Pluto would give council where needed by an ear to listen and a mind made wise. Wrapping his tail around his front paws, gold gazed upon the to in front of him searching for answers or even just a hint at what was wrong. Pluto may not be the best with emotions, both his own and others, he was good when it came to listening. Nothing spoken to him would leave him as long as it caused no harm to the whole of the clan. He cared not if that harm was to other cats, himself, or the cat in question; if it was his time or another then so be it, otherwise they would survive the encounter.
“She’s back,” he meowed in the same clipped tone. It was not a good idea to trash the name of the General in front of other people, but anger made his social inhibitions drastically less than they would normally be. “And Jezi made her general, again. And for what? What has Shae ever done for us other than cause problems with Primal Instinct?” And leave me to clean up her messes, he added as an afterthought, but did not say it out loud. The two had a terrible dynamic. Ryss has always been the one trained to protect her, to do damage control. He had failed the day she had been almost killed by Vera. Since, he hadn’t even been able to look at her well. “What is this, her third time?”
“I’m not sure. It must be the third time at least.” Pluto did not know Shae well, had never chosen to interact with her before but he knew of what she’d done. Maybe not everything but he did know she’d played a part in stirring trouble for Absum Lux against Primal Instinct. “What do you believe can be done though? Jezi has made her decision and we are to respect it.”
aggravation became that much more apparent in his eyes. Third time at least. Was he the only one who saw this as a threat ? The first two times were almost understandable; Shae had been the laptop of Octavia and had made Genesis her little project. This time? There was no excuse. “It was an asinine decision on her part, spawned by pregnancy jitters or plain stupidity. I’m not sure which,” he retorted boldly. “It’s as if we haven’t been failing enough lately. Then you send a personal invitation to Trouble Incarnate to ruin things even more.” HIs tail lashed. “You can respect it all you want. I don’t respect self-sabotage.”
“Well I respect Jezi and I will stand beside her, even when I don’t agree with her decisions.” That had happened before, but it was of no concern of the angry tom. Pluto pulled his tail even closer, body tension and prepared in case this tom stuck out at him. He wouldn’t be the first to do so in a fit of rage. “If you feel so strongly why not speak of the issue with Jezi yourself?” Of course, he’d be there as a neutral party and to make sure nothing happened to their heda.
Ryss wouldn't strike out. Although he was angry, and rightfully so, he wasn't the kind of tom that would just attack anyone who came too close to him. That would make him too much like his cousin, too much like the evil that he tried so hard not to replicate. "It's almost amusing to me that you think it matters what I have to say to her. Even if Jezi realizes her mistake, do you think that Shae would gracefully step down?" He thrashed his tail. Clearly, Pluto didn't know the blue eyed monster.
“No. But would you?” Who would step down from such a high position within the clan? Pluto knew of no one. More often than not it was an outside influence that forced them to step away. Family, enemies, codes, sanity. They were all reasons he’d seen others be forced away from the position they held. Not omcehad it been merely because they’d been asked or just didn’t want to do it anymore.
"No, which is to say we are all damned," he meowed in response. This was bad news. Ryss knew it was bad news. If something happened to Jezi before Shae took her last breath, the Coalition was absolutely doomed. But, what could be done about it? He could kill her, but he wasn't sure that he could lay a paw on his own family. Then, what was left? Was he meant to only hope for the best, truly wish that she got hit by lightning or something? Was there no hope?

Pluto didn't know how the cat could think that when Wanheda wouldn't allow them to fall. Their faith hadn't led them wrong let and Wanheda hadn't failed them yet, even in tough times. "She may not be the best or most ideal leader," in the other tom's eyes, for Pluto saw no issues with her leader as she already knew what would be needed and how things were done having be a part of the clan before. "But, she's been chosen by Jezi and thus has Wanheda's blessing."
