Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
He could see the logic in assigning him to mentor Pandora: she was wild and young and fierce, and he was calm and thoughtful and wary. He would not rise to her antics, and he was patient, he could wear her down until she saw the futility of acting out and just sat calmly by his side.
Somehow Timesquandor doubted this would be that easy.
It was dawn when the bronzed tom picked his way down the cliffs and headed into the forest. He had told his apprentice to meet him now, but he expected her no earlier than sunhigh - a childish defiance, to be sure, but she was a child, just barely more than a kit.

Pandora was not an easy cat to deal with. There was perpetually something off about her, something contradictory and dangerous that responded to even the slightest negative emotion. To be given his youngest sister to train... it was a good thing he was so calm.
She arrived like a whirlwind, dropping from a tree and wrapping her paws around his neck, dragging them both unceremoniously to the ground. Her pelt scented more of DayClan than SunClan today, perhaps given that her other mother was their neighboring clan's leader, and with Foxstar gone, that left her spending more time with Glowstar than previously.
Timesquandor grunted as a sudden weight slammed into him and they hit the ground, and the scent immediately flooding his nostrils informed him this was the apprentice he'd been given to train. He planed a forepaw on her side as he stood up to hold her to the ground, then sternly looked her over. He did not approve of cats crossing borders too frequently, especially when they had a reason to weaken their loyalty to the clan by finding another home or family. Foxstar and the Sun God allowed it, however, so there was not much he could do to stop her.
"Next time you try that, I'm going to move and you'll hit the ground full force. Try not to break any bones," he warned, then let her go and stepped back with a single wave of his long tail.

Her smile splintered ever so slightly at the wave of irritation she felt, but the expression quickly found it's way back as he let her up, a childish expression, bright and wild. "That's only if you notice I'm there." Pandora pointed out. Right now, she wasn't necessarily skilled to the point he wouldn't realize she was coming, but one day, she'd be a fearsome opponent indeed.
His brow arched. "How little you must think of all of us. You really think we don't hear you creeping up on us for every one of your little pranks?" He started walking on. Of course he wouldn't admit he hadn't noticed her; she didn't need the ego boost. "You aren't as stealthy as you think, Pandora. Cats just let kittens believe as they will."

"We'll see if you notice me next time then." Pandora chittered. She was a combination of cats both manipulative and chaotic, cunning and deadly, but with a sort of beauty that was more than looks. Created by the Sun God, in some ways, she could be considered the perfect cat. Though blessings to the clan, no other child in SunClan could claim the Sun God as their sole parent. Though young, she was already intelligent, and one could only expect she would be a dangerous opponent one day soon, if she wasn't already.
