Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Mongrel felt nervous at the edge of the border, it was risky being around clan territory at all. After his involvement supporting Eternalstar's reign, and then with Cicero's. But as his time away had stretched on he had grown more and more restless. Remembering her kind eyes and soft words; her unwavering determination to better herself. It felt wrong the way he had left things, and while he was unsure she would even like to speak to him he still wanted to make an effort to speak to her all the same.
Softpelt was moving along FallClan's border, her white pelt standing out against the lush greenery. She bent her head lifting a paw to check the leaves, carefully moving them around inspecting the plant, seeing how well it was growing. Picking ones that were fully grown she nipped them carefully setting them aside for her to pick up and take back. After she'd picked out her harvest she straightened up, blue eyes looking around, spotting the shape of Mongrel. For a moment she stiffened, then recognition came into her gaze and her eyes brightened.
"Mongrel!" She cried stepping carefully over the herbs and going over to the border, over to him. She didn't hesitate to reach out and brush her muzzle against his. "I heard about what happened from Inksplash! I was worried! Are you all right?" She asked stepping back and looking him over checking him for injuries.
Mogrel was taken aback at first, so long without a friendly face and he had almost forgotten what it was like. Slowly though he relaxed, a warmth that had used to blossom about Softpelt returning. "I'm alright, I was more worried about you and your children. I know they're all you have left." He hummed softly, words slow as he fidgeted a little. Her lack of anger had him forgetting all his apology speech. Choosing to bask in her warmth for a moment, worried if he apologized she would pull away from him. "How are you doing? You seem well."
Softpelt chuckled, "I am!" She purred. "I am quite happy serving FallClan as their medicine cat. They're appreciative of my efforts, and for the first time since SpringClan stopped having a need for a teacher, I've been quite content... though I've missed you." She rested her tail on his shoulder.
Her expression shifted from joy to a more sympathetic expression. "And you're not wrong, Inksplash means the world to me... But you're important to me too, I was worried when you urged me to leave that Eternalstar might lash out... and then Cicero came in..." She trailed off.
Her gaze shifted back to where SpringClan's land was. She couldn't see it from where they stood but in her minds eye she pictured the picturesque beauty of it. "I have lost a lot, my Birchshade, who helped urge me to leave my housefolk so long ago.. my son Coldpaw, and my place in SpringClan." Though her words were melancholy, her eyes were still bright. "I think once Tarantulastar kicked me out... SpringClan stopped feeling like home. And it's felt like that ever since, even as teacher. So you urging me out was the kindest thing you could do for me. I think had Eternalstar pushed me out... I would've hurt more, but you." She looked at him. "You cared enough to ensure I left on my terms. And as a result I am where I am. And you saved my daughter. So thank you,"
"But I also suspect you came to relieve whatever's burdening that guarded heart of yours." She gently lifted her paw to touch his chest. "I want to let you know that, whatever you have to tell me. It's okay. You've given me so much... Let me ease your burden, you can trust me. No matter what, I will always care for you."
