( So Cardinalstar and Thrushstar decided that SpringClan and FallClan would get together for a fun day of competition! The apprentices in each Clan will compete against each other in hunting and battle as well as the warriors )
Cardinalstar led his Clan through their territory and towards their Valley at the base of the WinterClan mountains. He was excited for the day's activities. He and Thrushstar had agreed to meet up in the Valley and host a friendly competition between their Clans where their warriors and apprentices would compete amongst one another in hunting and battle practice. His warriors had been working hard to rebuild their camp and their lives once they'd returned home and felt this was an excellent way to reward them. His gaze scanned the Valley as they emerged from the forest. It was buzzing with life today and it would provide and excellent location for their competition.
Thrushstar, with his clan behind him, padded forward in the clearing. He bowed his head to Cardinalstar. "How are you?" he asked in formal greeting. The SpringClan leader looked just as excited as Thrushstar was. He had welcomed few SpringClan warriors as Cicero's rained his terror through the territory.

Cypresspaw was always one to make a flashy appearance. Since she wasn't an apprentice at the time, she didn't go to the last gathering, so she didn't really have any clue what SpringClan cats were like. She heard that their camp was taken over before and the thought that they could still potentially be hiding something made her shutter. Though, if Thrushstar trusted the new leader enough to set up this whole event thing, everything must be all good now. Right? No matter- it wasn't the biggest thing on her mind right now. All she cared about as she sprang through the trees was one-upping every single apprentice SpringClan had to offer single handily- or try to, at least. The cream apprentice lept from the oaks that grew smaller and smaller the closer to WinterClans pine barren they got. When she saw Thrushstar finally stop and start talking to a stranger, she decided it was the best time to finally make a scene. In her mind, she leaped down from the trees with grace and dignity, landing softly by her leader. In reality, she lost her footing on a branch closer to the surface and slipped, fell, and crashed onto the ground below. It wasn't too bad of a fall so there was no real concern for injury, though she did have a major bump on her head. Was it worth it? Totally!
Sunpaw sighed deeply as he watched the younger apprentice flail through the trees and land hard on the ground below. He rolled his green eyes.
Topazpaw, recently made an apprentice, stood face to face with Fallclan. She was quite a snob and always thought herself to be better than everyone else. She laughed out loud when Crypresspaw crashed after attempting a flashy entrance. "Is this really what I have to compete with? She can barely walk on her own four paws" Topazpaw sneered. "This will be a breeze."
Cypresspaw narrowed her eyes and snorted. "You're just jealous of my awesome tree-climbing skills. You know I was ever higher than that on the way here? What do you guys do that's more awesome than being in the trees?" She snapped back at Topazpaw. Jeeze, these SpringClan cats sure seem like snobs already. At least FallClans more humble!
Topazpaw snickered, "actually, we are great at lots of stuff! Including climbing trees!" She really wasn't that great at climbing trees. Springclan wasn't known for that but she wanted to make herself sound better. "No worries though. We will see once and for all who is best!"
Mako's mouth twitched as she followed behind the rest of her Clanmates, eager for the festivities to begin. She'd been lonely ever since Peachblush had left SpringClan, and was hoping to make a few new friends to compensate. Or enemies, she thought. Anyone interesting, really. I'm not picky! She glanced over to Cypresspaw and Topazpaw, who seemed to be having an...invigorating conversation. "Maybe you guys should save it for the competition," she said with a lopsided grin.
Cardinalstar dipped his head in return to Thrushstar. "Greetings, Thrushstar. I'm well how are you?" he asked, he'd barely had the words out of his mouth when Cypresspaw came crashing out of the tree. She seemed uninjured and unfazed by the fall.
____
Wolfspider listened with amusement at Topazpaw and Cypresspaw's conversation. He thought for a few moments about telling them to stop bickering and grow up but decided against it. He was far too amused by Cypresspaw's... interesting entrance and then by their argument. "Oh to be young and foolish again..." he muttered so only he could hear, shaking his head.
Thrushstar tried to ignore his apprentice's.. graceful entrance. "I-I'm fine. Our Clan is doing well after the greencough that swept through. How is SpringClan doing?" he asked.
Wildhare couldn't help but to laugh hysterically at Cypresspaw's fall. He wished he had the energy to do something like that again. "Are you alright?" he asked her.
Darkwily padded past Wildhare, ignoring Cypresspaw. He stood himself in line with his leader, asserting his dominance within the clan. Although he was no senior warrior just yet, he felt he had enough skill to be there. He knew he would be successful today; after what SpringClan had gone through, he doubted any of them were near enough fit to defeat him.
"We're steadily getting back on our feet after Cicero left." he responded. "But I believe two of our apprentices have already started the day's competition." Cardinalstar said, glancing at Topazpaw and Cypresspaw.
_____
Wolfspider fixed a curious gaze onto Darkwily. He looked like he'd be a challenging opponent.
Thrushstar nodded. "That is great news. If you need anything, you are welcome to ask." he said. He hoped he didn't offend the leader by saying that; he knew how hard it was to ask for help in front of those you don't want to show weakness too. He felt that far too many times already in his short time as leader. "Shall we formally begin then?" he said with a chuckle.
Darkwily felt eyes burning into his fur. He knew the other clan would be looking at all of FallClan like prey. He wouldn't let that happen.
