Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Marchosais E'tan the name had a lofty ring to it, he hated it but he loved it as well. He loved the power that came with the name but hated the notoriety at the same time. There was something to be said for being an unknown. Tail sweeping out behind him he moved through the thick undergrowth and hummed as his stream blue eyes scanned the undergrowth. He wanted hist castle, wanted his throne, but he needed to better establish himself first. Needed to carve his name in the stars before he could rest among them.
Laughing carelessly he whirled around, "all mine..." he cackled before trailing off with a sigh as once again he was struck by how much work this would be. "What a shame.."
"Tired of being Nemesis already?" A bored tone questioned, the Proxy approaching with a rather deadpan expression. Of all of them, she was perhaps the most secretive. She kept to herself, and half the time no one knew where she was. Senescence was one of the few longer term members, which was a feat in itself, and she generally did as she pleased. It rarely interfered with whatever the reigning Nemesis was doing, so she was rarely bothered as a result. Now, however, she didn't have such luxury. Even during Solaris', albeit brief, reign, she'd been able to slip away from the chaos. But Marchosais really wanted her to be productive, apparently.

"Just a tad." He laughed, whirling to face his proxy with a cheery grin and manic light in his eye. She was an unknown to him and that was alright for now. Marchosais didn't need to know everything about all his cats, he would learn in time. Trying to rush the gathering of knowledge seemed like welcoming more trouble than it was worth. "But I don't need to worry. Not now that I came up with such an ingenious strategy." Hopefully she ignores that the idea was in-place before me and I simply expanded upon it. He thought though it mattered little; the idea was his now. "Making my little proxies into leaders in their own right. Share the wealth I've always said!"

She could assume his idea was to expand their duties and separate the cats. It's not like it was a difficult jump from one idea to the next. Senescence tilted her head slightly and blinked once, impassive. "Ingenious, or insanity?" The Proxy questioned, though she showed no apparent leaning either way. "Or perhaps you simply want less work to do for yourself." Not that it changed much what his intentions were, or her thoughts on the matter anyway. Marchosais would do as he pleased, as any other Nemesis would, as he already had thus far. She was simply along for the ride, for better or worse, until yet another cat rose into his rank one day.

"Oh insanity. I wish." He laughed with a little shrug beaming towards her. "Imagine being able to claim insane as one of you own traits. It excuses so much!" Marchosais shook his head at the very thought. "Anytime I did something out of line I could just say my shaman tells me I'm insane. All forgiven, though perhaps it would make me more of a target. No one wants an insane ruler; or perhaps they do. This is the league after all." His rambling seemed without purpose but he smiled widely towards Senescence still focused on her for all his random tangents.
"Maybe everyone's a little insane in their own way." You could certainly find someone who thought so, if you looked hard enough. And in the league, you didn't even have to look beyond your own groupmates to find someone who thought of you as such. It was simply a matter of perspective, and in the end, it didn't matter. What one cat thought about you, could could find another who disagreed, and eventually neither would be alive to remember you, and your memory would disappear entirely.

"You're right. But true insanity; what a gem to find." He huffed as he considered it for a mere moment more. Pushing it off when he decided fantasizing about things he couldn't have was a pointless venture. "So what were you out and about doing then?" He wondered as he examined his proxy, so far this conversation was the most he had talked to any of them. Having felt no drive to do so; though it was perhaps foolish of him to think the proxies Solaris assigned would serve him just as well. He was more of a deal with a problem when he could no longer ignore it sort of cat.
