Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Turbulentpaw waited at the edge of camp waiting on the rest of the patrol to arrive. His herb storage was running low, and he needed to gather more. His search in the immediate area had run dry, so they would have to travel a little farther out in order to find what he needed. His claws dug into the dirt, impatiently. The longer they took, the longer his ever growing list of patients would grow.
Echopaw bounced over to Turbulentpaw, her tail permanently kinked from getting caught during the earth quake. She had fully recovered emotionally and physically other than her tail, though it didn't seem to bother her at all. "Hi, Turbulentpaw!" she greeted, a bright smile on her face. For a long time she was caught in a depressed phase, constantly blaming herself for Thistlebriar's death and putting Beetlepaw in harms way. Though after some time, she had finally regained her confidence and was once again ready to help in any way she can.
Turbulentpaw smiled slightly, glad that at least on of his friends was coming along to help him out "Thanks for coming with me. I need to gather a lot of herbs and it will be nice to have a few extra sets of paws helping out. Now we just have to wait on the others"

Stonehill walked up to Turbulentpaw and Echopaw and sat down curling his tail around his paws. He nodded a greeting to them before licking his paw and drawing it over his ears. Patiently waiting for the other's to arrive.
The newly named Beetleflight felt like he was bouncing on his paws. He felt giddy. He was a full fledged warrior. This would be his first patrol, since his promotion! His heart was pounding in his chest at the thought. What would the other warriors think of him? Would they think he was just a silly apprentice, just with the name of a warrior? His jumpiness increased, nerves rushing through him.
Then he spotted Echopaw and he tried to straighten himself up to look impressive. Trying to look less like the panic attack stricken apprentice she'd once had the misfortune to see him as. He was a warrior now, and he wanted to look the part... even though part of him really didn't entirely feel it.
Echopaw smiled back at her medicine cat friend, "Of course! I'm glad to be here to help!"
She turned her head to Stonehill as the warrior approached and gave him a nod in greeting in returned.
Then she saw Beetleflight approach. She was envious that he had become a warrior before her since they were close to the same age but she was happy for him. Since the earth quake, she had delayed in her training and therefore, had to watch her other fellow apprentice's graduate. However, she was happy for all of them. Especially Beetleflight. He deserved it. His selfless act in the earth quake to save her life made him more qualified to graduate. While all the others left, he crawled back into the den just to save her. "Beetlepaw- er, I mean, Beetleflight!" she greeted happily, at first getting his name wrong after being so used to calling him by his apprentice name. "This is your first patrol as a warrior isn't it? I'm so happy for you! And I love your warrior name!"
(Jet, I've noticed that, literally, your cat are always saving my cats' lives XD)
(Its just magnetism, or gravity. 'Oh no! one of spots cats is in trouble?! *cues typical superhero theme* 'here i come to save the DAYYY!' XP)
"Thanks," Beetleflight ducked his head a bit embarassed. "And yeah, its crazy you know, beibg a warrior now. But don't worry you'll be a warrior before you know it, you've got Aconiteleap training you and with Skypaw..." he hesitated Skypaw was blind, she wouldnt be as much help to echopaw, but.. "With Skypaw you'll have a groundbreaking apprenticeship to say the least!" He managed to save.
He glanced to turbulentpaw, "Are we uh, good to go?" He asked. "For herb hunting," he felt like he'd already screwed up and needed to distract from his nervous chatter.
Did he secretly think Skypaw was going to hold her back? She loved Skypaw like a sister and she saw potential in the blind apprentice even if no one else did. She was more than thrilled to be training with Skypaw. They had been through some intense feelings together and Skypaw helped her get through it. "I know that Skypaw will try her best and I believe in her" Echopaw mewed in response after a moment of hesitation, though she had a genuine smile on her face.
Then she turned to Turbulentpaw expectantly, waiting patiently for him to give the cue to leave.
Her apprentice had arrived before her, and everyone else - but that was no surprise, as Aconiteleap had never been on time in her life. She kept her own schedule, she was a busy cat, and as she came strolling to join them she had to suppress a yawn. "Here."
At the arrival of the last warrior, he dipped his head "Now we may go. We are in great need of marigold, cobwebs, and poppy seeds. If you see any of them, or other herbs please let me know" he had listed herbs that most of them had probably seen before, and that would really help if they could find more of them.
"Most of the herbs in this area have been used up, so we will have to travel kind of far before we find anything. "
Echopaw bounced with excitement. Turbulentpaw said they were going to go kinda far. How far exactly? She wondered. She skipped alongside her friends, Beetlepaw and Turbulentpaw as they headed in search for herbs. Marigold, Cobwebs, and Poppyseeds. She repeated over and over in her mind so she wouldn't forget over her excitement.
Beetleflight looked down towards Echopaw, a purr resonating in his chest. He was happy to see her in such high spirits, even as he cast a worried glance up at the trees that stood around them. Though he took a deep breath, fending off his nerves as he continued to walk along with the patrol.
"So where would we likely find these herbs?" He asked Turbulentpaw.
Marigold? Was that the one with the purple flowers? Aconiteleap was about to ask when Beetleflight beat her to it. With a twitch of her ears she dropped to the back of the patrol, just ahead of Stonehill, deciding she'd just ask later, and kept an eye out for any interesting scents as they walked.
"Well cobwebs can be found at the roots of trees, in branches, in thick foliage. They are made by spiders, so they should be pretty easy to find. Once we find them we can collect them by winding them around a stick. Marigold is a golden flower. It has a very sweet scent, and we will find it in open areas where the trees open up. The like to have a lot of sunlight, in order to grow. As for poppy seeds, we are looking for a bright red flower almost the color of blood. For that, leave the gathering to me unless you want to get really sleepy" he chuckled.
Even though he was leading the patrol, he still felt like he was holding them back. He was smaller than most of the other cats, and wasn't used to moving as quickly as the others. "We will head north. I heard there is a break in the trees there, with some hills. I'm hoping that we can find cobwebs in the trees, and the marigold and poppy seeds in the clearing"
Beetleflight nodded slowly, mentally trying to store this information but even with it just being a few key items, he already felt like he'd forgotten it all. Fortunately there was a whole patrol to help. He decided to recall that marigold was golden, and the poppy seeds came from red flowers. That wasn't too hard to remember. He glanced at the others to see if they showed any signs of being as confused as he felt.
"Don't worry, Turbulentpaw! We will find lots of herbs for you!" Echopaw purred, scanning her surroundings as she spoke, looking for any of the key items. "It's almost like a scavenger hunt!"
Not purple, then. Aconiteleap was relieved the apprentice took a moment to explain what they were looking for and where. "Gold and red in the valley, got it," she murmured to herself, thinking there were probably a lot of flowers those colors. This might be tricky.
"I suppose it is a lot like a scavenger hunt" he chuckled as they reached the edge of the forest. He could hear the river running near by "Lets scatter to cover more ground. I'm going to search the hills for some marigold and poppy seeds, but we should stay within shouting distance in case we run into trouble"
While he wasn't expecting to run into much, it would be best to be cautious. However, if they stayed in a tight bunch, their chances of fnding something useful would be greatly diminished.
