Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Today was the day! Her mentor had been assigned and by StarClan she couldn’t be more happy! She jolted out of her nest and scurried quickly to the cavern that WaterClan lived within. The falls roared in her ears, but just as the other cats, she’d grown accoutoned to the sound long ago.
Where was he? Her gaze shot around, eyes analyzed the crowd of cats that were gathering as morning grew further along.
A pair of long legs seemed to suddenly materialize right before her eyes. The white tom narrowed his molten amber eyes, frown on his face. “What are you doing.” His voice was deep, dark and gruff. It was also incredibly disapproving. “Get on your feet and face me, soldier. I won’t stand for disrespect.”
What? Tealpaw turned and was face to face with him. Her ears swiveled forward as she took in the way he looked up close. He was tall, serious, strong... Her face grew hot, and she found her breath caught. The apprentice jerked her head downwards to look at her paws, despite the last instruction to face him.
Tealpaw’s grey and white furs fluffed up as she seemed to have not heard any of his words. What was wrong with her?
His eyes further narrowed and he clenched his jaw, raising his head to glare down at her instead. “You aren’t very obedient, are you. That’ll be your first lesson. Treat my word as law or face the punishment of defiance.” He turned. “Follow me.” He padded down the twirling path to the pond at the base of the waterfall. He glanced back at her and hummed to himself in thought.
She blinked a few times. Her face gave shock as she slowly lifted her head. Tealpaw watched the tom go on without her as if he had hardly noticed her gaping mouth and inability to do simple commands. Despite his last actions, he walked as if he had never been angry.
Tealpaw stood and slowly followed, her ears flicking back and fourth as she lost herself in anxious thought.
Stopping at the edge of the pond, he sat down and wrapped his tail around his paws. He turned slightly to look down at her. “You’re not going to stop are you.” He sighed. “Fine. Talk to me. What’s your,” he gestured at all of her with a paw, “problem.”
He rolled his eyes. “How to lie better.” he huffed and looked down at the water. “Get in.” He pointed at the chilled water; it had yet to warm, after all it was still newleaf.
Lie better..? She hardly had time to mull it around in her head before the command struck her. Is he fish-brained? “But... it’s cold.” She muttered, lifting a paw away from the direction of the water. Her eyes were wide.
