Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
He frowned deeply. "I'm sorry for the way I came off. It really is just because I'm scared. I really don't know if I can do this whole parenting thing.... but, I know that I really do want to be with you. I want to be there with you for our kits, for our love... forever, really." He smiled and lifted himself from the ground, helping his mate back up to her feet as well. "No matter what trials and tribulations life throws at us, I will do my best to be here and support you through all of it. No matter what. I promise." He purred and nuzzled her hard again, being careful not to edge closer to the cliff. Slowly, the couple started their way back to the creek where they had started, taking a well-needed rest on the cool stones at the side of the water.
Fawnheart let out a relieving sigh and pressed her muzzle hard against his in return, enjoying the scent of her mate wreathing around her. She loved him so much and she hoped nothing would break their love, not even having kits. She followed him down to the river, the cool stones felt good on her sore paws she received from climbing up the cliff. "Thank you for saving me, by the way." she gave him an affectionate lick on the cheek.
He chucked as his fur warmed from her touch. "Of course, my dearest. I would never ever let anything happen to you. I promise you." He looked into her eyes; amber matching, his tone cool and serious. "Especially now. I promise to protect this family with my life. Though, I hope that it will never come to that." He purred and gave her a warm smile. "Hey- do you want me to get you a snack? Or wanna go back to camp and just get something from the fresh-kill pile?"
"You will make a great father" she purred, entwining her tail with his. "Your are always hungry, you know that?" she chuckled, her eyes gleaming with amusement. It was true. Almost every time they were together, he wanted food.
Foxfoot laughed at her remark. "Well, let us hope these kits get your appetite, hmm?" He lightly poked at her, purring in amusement. He rose from his place by the creek and shook his pelt of the rubble that still remained from the fiasco by the scenic outlook. "Let's get back to camp. You should rest for now. Leave all your work to me, okay? I'll go on your hunts and patrols, get you your prey myself, everything." He mewed to her warmly. Was he being too clingy now? Overbearing or protective?
She raised a brow at him but she had a smile on her face, "I'm perfectly capable of hunting myself...sort of." She twitched her whiskers in amusement. They both know she wasn't the best hunter in the clan but she did her best.
(Did I ever tell you my brainstorming idea about Stellareclipse?)
Foxfoot chuckled. "Hey! Don't beat yourself up! Maybe when you're ready to again, we can do some more training, just like old times." He purred as he lined her black with his tail gingerly. "How did you figure you were pregnant, by the way?"
"I would like that" she replied to his first response before replying to his question. "Intuition?" She guessed. "I used to be a medicine cat. I think I know when a cat in pregnant. Though just to be sure I wasn't getting ahead of myself, I went to see Softpelt and she confirmed. "
(I'll make the thread either tomorrow or Saturday for the kits!)
"Hmm... I wonder if, with you being a medicine cat and all, if one of our kits will have a connection with StarClan? If not all of them?" The somali tom thought aloud. He figured his previous question was a bit of a stupid one, being as she was a medicine cat for so many moons and previously had many moons of training. She seemed to be even more advanced in her knowledge and skills than their current medicine cat is- though, he knew that Softpelt was still fairly new in her role.
