Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Foxfoot sighed in relief. "Oh thank StarClan! Yeah, of course, we can go for a walk. Are you sure everything's okay, though?" He cocked his head for a moment before shaking it. "Oh- nevermind. You can tell me while we walk." He smiled lightly. "Where do you wanna go? Maybe the secret garden this time?"
He smiled warmly. "It's a beautiful place any time of year, though I don't think I've been there in new leaf either! We can go experience it together."
Turning and exiting the camp, the felines climbed through large roots and oaks that flooded FallClans territory. Spotting the rather large oak that hid the secret garden below. Stopping and pointing it out to Fawnheart, the two slipped into the hollow and sat beside the small blue pool that sat in the middle, patting a space next to him for Fawnheart. "What's up? Something on your mind?" He purred.
She was in awe at how beautiful the place was. This should be their camp. Then she gulped nervously at his question. How would she tell him? Would he be upset? She took a deep breath, "Yeah, somethings on my mind. And I wasn't in Softpelt's den to help...I was there for myself..."
A look of worry crossed his face yet again. "But you told me everything was fine? Is it something I guess... less serious than greencough?" He cocked his head. "Well.. I mean, you were a medicine cat, so if you said everything was fine... it's nothing to worry about, right?" He was a little anxious. Foxfoot was sort of an oblivious tom; he was never one to catch on to personal problems or situations fast. While clever when scheming or hunting, he was never much of a socialite.
She chuckled, "Foxfoot, I'm expecting your kits." She thought she may as well get it out instead of beating around the bush, expecting Foxfoot to catch on.
The garden was so silent you could hear the waterbugs making small ripples in the pool before them. His amber eyes widened and expression blank. Did he hear her right? Did she just say shes expecting his kits? He shook his head, giving her a look of confusion mixed with fear. "Did I.... did I hear you right? We're.... we're expecting kits?" His voice was shaky, his maw trembling as he spoke.
"Um, yeah. We are going to have kits" she repeated, a little more nervously. Was he upset? She couldn't really tell what he was thinking. "I expected that I was pregnant but I went to Softpelt for a second opinion. Its still fairly early but I just thought you should know."
Foxfoot chuckled rather awkwardly, tail swinging around anxiously. "I mean, you are still a medicine cat deep down." Realizing that he may be giving off the wrong impression, he tried his best to give her a reassuring smile- only to come off rather goofy like normal. "Its exciting news. I just feel like its all.. very fast." He gave his chest a nervous lick. "Who woulda thunk, huh? Just a season ago you were a medicine cat in SpringClan, probably not even thinking about the happenings here in FallClan. It's amazing how fast- and drastically- time can change things."
"I knew you'd be upset and I should have known that you wouldn't want this!" She growled, tears starting to form in her eyes. She spun around and disappeared into the undergrowth. Anger and embarrassment heating her pelt as she dashed through the forest. The trees around her nothing more than a blur as she let her paws take her wherever. She didn't care where. As long as she was far away from Foxfoot.
(Sorry, I just thought it would make the thread interesting if she got upset XD)
(dont be sorry! its all good!) Foxfoot sat stunned. What did he say that was so wrong? Was it his tone? He shot up and yelled for her. "F-Fawnheart! Wait!! Come back!!" He ran for her but as soon as she crawled in the undergrowth he lost her. Looking up at the oaks above he decided to climb them for a better view. He jumped through thr trees, trying to spot where the molly had run off to. "Fawnheart? Fawnheart! Come back!" He continued calling for her, hoping his pleads would get to her.
After some running, she found herself heading for the scenic lookout. She could hear Foxfoot calling for her and for a split second, she looked back but she chose to ignore it. Instead, she began climbing the scenic lookout, not paying attention to where she was putting her paws. She just kept climbing blindly in anger and sadness until she placed her paw on the wrong rock and it shifted, causing her to lose grasp. She dropped a few fox lengths with a cry of surprise, her paws flailing in mid-air. She landed on an unstable ledge with an awkward thud. The breath from her lungs escaping. She slowly rose to her paws, her lungs aching from the fall, and the ledge began to crack. She backed up against the cliff as close as she could. Under her paws was a steep drop that could potentially kill her if she fell.
"Fawnheart? C'mon! Fawnheart!" Foxfoot continued to yell and call for her, almost flying through the oaks at high speeds, leaves blinding his sight as he sped through the treeline.
His ears pricked as he heard Fawnhearts crash, immediately recognizing her cry. "Fawnheart?" He yelled, trying to find out exactly where she was. "Don't worry, Fawnheart! I'm coming!!"
He landed from his position in the trees when he heard the cracks, trying to feel which direction the shift in the earth was coming from. Hearing her last cry, he was able to figure out which direction to run and started for her. Finding his way to the scenic outlook he immediately spotted Fawnheart on the small ledge. He was too far to just reach and pull her up, so instead, he opted to go closer to her level and bring her up from there. Starting a slow descent, Foxfoot tried his best to keep his weight off his toes as he stopped on a small enough footing to crouch down and lend a paw to Fawnheart.
"Here, Fawn, grab on! I'm not mad, I promise! I'm just scared! I don't think I can make a great father... but I know you'll make a great mother, and together we can be the best parents in FallClan. Only if you'll come back with me, that is." He tried his best to give her a dry-eyed smile, but amber irises turned into golden pools as he watched Fawnheart struggle on the ledge.
"I do! I do want kits with you! Theres no one in the entire forest I'd rather have mother my kits!" He cried, trying to convince her his words were true. "I am scared to be a father. I really am. I don't know if I'll do a good job or provide enough for you... or our family. But... but I know that I want to be with you! And I know that having kits together would be the best thing that has ever happened in my entire life! So please, won't you come back up? Come back to FallClan with me. We can go home... to our home... our kits home..." He begged, reaching his paw as close to her as possible.
She thought about what he said. Suddenly feeling warmed by his words. Did he really mean it? She looked up into his eyes and she could see the sincereness in his eyes. She went to reach for his paw but the ledge broke before she could touch him. As the last second, she jumped and wrapped one paw around his and sunk her claws on her other paw into the side of the cliff. She used to her back claws to walk her way up along with Foxfoot's help.
With one last heave, she laid at the top of the cliff panting, her eyes wide with terror.
His body flung back as he used all his strength to help lift his mate from the ledge. Helping to lift her up to the original cliff of the scenic outlook, then the duo finally made their ascent the surface.
Once finally on stable ground he flung himself onto Fawnheart and held her in an embrace. He nuzzled her hard and began to groom her fur of all the dirt and leaves that had gotten tangled into her pelt. "No matter how scared I am, there is no one I'd rather be going through this with than you. Being with you makes it all worth it, y'know?" He flashed her a bright smile. "I really did mean what I said. I really do want to have kits with you. I really am so thankful that Eternalstar kicked you out of SpringClan- 'cus if she didn't, you wouldn't have ever come here and we wouldn't have met. And my life wouldn't be complete."
She laid panting, allowing her mate to embrace her and groom her. After she caught her breath she looked at Foxfoot in the eyes, tears flowing from her own. "I'm so sorry...I didn't mean to get stuck and I didn't mean to assume you didn't want to have kits with me. I just thought...well...the way you came off made me think it was a mistake..." She looked down at her paws, her heart both aching and swelling at the same time. Her emotions were all over the place. She knew that was what would happen during pregnancy but she didn't imagine it being so severe. Plus, she hadn't really meant to hurt her mate. She just wanted him to be excited for them. They were starting a family together and she loved him so much.
