Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Inner strength hidden behind a frail exterior. A raptor caged within a dove. This is Lavinia, daughter to one of the strongest bloodlines in the Regime. Her mother's side brings the blood of two commanders, Sean and Abiliana, and her father's side the blood of Commander Largo. Lavinia knows that her ancestors place upon her a heavy burden, one rife with tragedy and death, but she does not mind. She is proud to sink under the weight, and takes joy in each day she does not buckle under the pressure. Her body is a combination of the pelts of her heritage, a hodgepodge of blacks, oranges, browns, reds, and whites. Her eyes are pale blue, as though they can see beyond what is visible to most. In this way she is the ultimate chameleon, though despite all of the power in her, she has a weakness. Ashamed of it yet not willing to let it stop her, Lavinia has a lame hind-paw, making running and leaping impossible. As a cadet she received the injury, putting a stop to her mercenary training and shifting her to the softer lifestyle of a guider. Angry at this change, she at first refused to do her service for the Regime, but was reminded in a dream that she was not born to sulk and fail to do her duty. From that day forth she held her head up high, proud of the difference she makes in the Garden healing the ill and injured. Her power may he hidden from sight, but it is never gone.
{{The Garden}}
Today is passing slower than a Veteran in leafbare, thought Lavinia frustratedly, unable to hide the low rumble of a growl from escaping her. Some days were better than others for Lavinia, and it was clear by the cloudy expression on her face that this was not one of the good ones. She was nestled in a warm nest, lame hind paw hidden from sight beneath the volumes of calico fur hiding her once-powerful form. Now, atrophied from disuse, she was a mere shell of the cat she once was. Some days this didn't bother her - some days she was so busy healing and binding and nursing that she didn't have time to consider her weakness. Today was not one of those days.
She didn't hide the anger gathering in her cornflower blue eyes, muttering words not fit for print under her breath. She prayed no one sent a sick cat her way - the other guiders were pretty good about following her moods and keeping sick cats out of the crossfire but she wouldn't put it past the mouse brains to-
She was still deep in her negative thoughts when she was suddenly pulled out of her mind by another cat.

"You seem troubled." A voice spoke from in front the tortoiseshell and Loring emerged from a nearby tunnel. The lanky tom had stopped just before she could run into him and was gazing at her with a tilted head. He fought to hide the sympathy for Lavinia's situation behind his own blue (? heckin I don't remember) eyes. He was fully aware of the wrath his ears would feel if she knew he felt bad for her. "What is bothering you, Lavinia? It has been some time since we've spoken." His voice was kind, warm and gentle like their father's.

Lavinia managed to hide her jump of surprise by shifting her weight in her nest as though that was her original intent. "Loring," she mewed, voice harsher than she intended. Clearing her throat, she tried again. "Loring, what brings you by here?" She assessed his body with a keen and practiced eye, looking for any sign of illness or injury. She didn't smell blood and he didn't seem to be down in spirits, so she assumed it was a social call of some sort.
Her siblings didn't really visit her anymore, what with her stormy attitude and general envy of all those living out her dream of being mercenaries. She wouldn't admit how much she longed to leap and run and tussle and fight like the others, how much she hated being regulated to the Garden. Instead she just kept others away with a fierce growl and swift cuff to the ear. She couldn't do that with her brother, though, because she knew he genuinely cared despite it all. That left her feeling conflicted and guilty, but that only sparked her annoyance higher.

"I came to see how you were doing." Loring responded simply then pushed a mouse forward with one paw. "I also figured you might be hungry." He had noticed that she hardly left her nest. Laurel had started to worry about her, as well. He couldn't stand seeing his mother and sister in pain. Not to mention, it had been quite a while since the siblings had bounded. A sudden rumble erupted from his own stomach. "Uh--er, I guess I'm hungry also." He laughed. "I hope you don't mind another guest." He purred with a wink, waving his tail for the cat behind him to enter.
Leif took that as his cue to make his grand entrance, giving his sister a big grin that he wasn't too sure she'd reciprocate. Or appreciate. "It's your beloved brother, Leif...!" he said, feeling very hollow all of a sudden. It was true that he hadn't really seen much of Lavinia at all lately, but she had just seemed so hopeless, so despairing...Leif had had no idea how to make it right to her, so he hadn't tried. A useless excuse, but he would stand by it. "...I mean, I am a guider, so I live in the Garden, so I don't know if I'm really a guest, but...eh. I'm in no mood to argue," he said with a wide grin. With either of you.

{{hello dear it is nice to see u again ♥ }}
Lavinia felt her hackles rise when her other brother approached, feeling trapped between them and her inability to get up and leave. She would never show them how she hobbled around like an invalid, so that meant she was trapped in her nest with this pity party until she could get them to leave. "Yes, it's lovely to see you both," she mewed, unable to hide the saliva gathering in her mouth at the mouse in front of her. She swallowed and continued. "But I've got things to do, you know, herbs to sort, patients to heal. I don't have time for a lunch break or grand reunion right now."
She truly was hungry - she couldn't make the long trip to Post Echo for food very often, and absolutely hated asking one of the cadets to bring something back for her. More often than not she only ate when someone had something extra and offered it up. Pride might go before the fall, but she was damned and determined not to fall. She shifted in her nest again, making sure her twisted hind leg was hidden from sight, and turned a frosty gaze onto her brothers.

"Nonsense." Loring responded, beckoning for Leif to come sit next to them. He longed for them to be close again. Their parents loved them and raised them to be kind, close, and compassionate. Why did things feel so distant? He let out a sigh and pushed the mouse towards her nose. "Come on. You need to eat something." He meowed, not believing one second that she was too busy to talk to them. "Superior Meepo told me that you could have the afternoon off." He added with a small, cheeky smile. Of course the excited, friendly superior would let her have a break. He cared just as much about her situation, she just didn't know it.
Leif followed his brother's cue and sat down, nodding. "I got told the same thing," he added, before Lavinia could raise an objection to that as well. Not that he thought she would, of course. "And if you're not comfortable with calling this a grand reunion, let's just pretend it's not." He didn't say 'let's just pretend we're all on speaking terms' out loud, but that was effectively what he meant, and he was pretty sure the others would get it.

Lavinia bit back a biting retort and swallowed the anger crawling up her throat. It wasn't really her brothers she was angry with, not entirely at least. Embarrassment transformed almost magically into rage for Lavinia, adding to the roiling pool of vitriol she seemed to be carrying at all times. At Loring's insistence, she leaned forwards and bit into the mouse, hiding the moan of pleasure she involuntarily made. She hadn't realized she was so hungry, and the mouse tasted so good.
Heat bloomed on her cheeks and she quickly cleared her throat and resisted the urge to take another bite, instead turning the inquisition (as she saw it) onto the two toms. "How are your lives treating you?" she asked, cutting her eyes at the mouse as she briefly considered and then decided against just eating the whole thing, images be damned. "You two must be incredibly busy with how little I see you." A polite observation from a normal cat, but a stinging rebuke from Lavinia.
Leif's eyes narrowed. "No busier than you, at least," he replied, trying to keep his tone light. Or would his perceived frivolity only serve to cut her deeper? "Someone came to see me a few days ago with their paw twisted at an angle I'd never seen before. I fixed it. It was awesome." He shifted, giving his brother a brief glance. Perhaps Leif had underestimated his own ability to make conversation. Come up with something, Loring...

Loring's eyes narrowed at his two siblings. Why were they acting so weird? He knew why. It was the elephant in the room. Lavinia had shelled herself off, Leif was too passive to care, and Loring had been too wrapped up in his own thoughts to pay attention. And Lachlan? Well, he practically didn't exist nowadays. Loring let his gaze shift between the two of them. He was usually the quiet, thoughtful one. His kindness had been taken advantage of many times. However, he was tired of their awkward conversation. "Come on. Eat and we are going on a walk. I'm sick of hopping around this conversation like lost pigeons." He growled. It was a strange sound coming from the usually-level tom.
