Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. How is it growing up the daughter to a cat as strict as Corona? Stifling, anxiety-inducing, horrible? No? Then what was it like to grow up with so many siblings? Was it too competitive? Was there not enough time for everyone? No again? Her life seems impossible, yet by her very presence Miranda proves the impossible possible. Cutting a similar visiage as her mother, Miranda is a caliby she-cat with fluffy ears and a medium-large stature. Where she diverges is in the eyes, amber rather than blue. This is the one trace of her father's genes that Miranda can find, but she isn't too bothered by it. Her mother never made a big deal out of their missing father, and so she learned to forget about it and accept it as who she was. Born to a former Mercenary Superior, many would expect all of Corona's tykes to go into mercenary work, or maybe scout, but Miranda found her calling to be amongst the tykes and origins in Post Kilo. Not one to scorn her tyke, Corona encouraged it and Miranda flourished amidst the other raisers, taking to her craft like a fish to water. Naturally quiet, Miranda finds peace amongst the tykes, able to carry out her duties without much fear of socialization. However, she enjoys visiting her family and often visits headquarters to see her mother or any of her various other siblings who might be in the post at any given time. Not one to take to extremes, she prefers a good balance of work to relaxation, and finds herself topside whenever she has time off, walking beneath the stars with an awestruck look.

Miranda swiped a paw over her face, sighing with weariness. It had been an early morning with a litter of tykes demanding her attention before the sun had even risen. She was glad to care for them, of course, but now her eyelids felt heavy and paws were sore from chasing the little ones around. Noticing a fresh round of Raisers coming onto shift, Miranda decided to head to Post Echo to find some prey and relax. Maybe she would head to HQ and see if she could find a littermate or two, or maybe she would just find a quiet corner somewhere she could rest her eyes...
She felt herself drifting off and jerked back awake, cheeks warm. She hadn't realized she was so exhausted. With a breathy laugh, she stood and began padding towards the post exit, stomach encouraging her to go faster.

"Miss Raiser Miranda!"
Rose-tyke couldn't seem to get her stubby legs to move fast enough as she tumbled after the raiser. Her mother, Momi, was fast asleep in the corner of Post Kilo with her littermates and no one had wanted to play. Being a carbon copy of her Aunt Venus with little hints of russet separating them, many wondered if she was going to end up a raiser like her mother and aunt. There was also a good chance she could end up a mercenary like her father. There were really too many options to choose from in her mind. "Can I please go with you Raiser Miranda? Pleeeeasssee. I want to see Uncle Ikaika and my dad and Coriander and Basil and Jasmine and Diana and..." She continued to list each and every one of her family members, completely unaware of Miranda's grumbling belly.

Miranda took a long, deep breath, then turned around to face the tyke bouncing behind her and smiled. "Rose-tyke, you know tykes can't leave Post Kilo. It's not safe for you or for me. Besides, your family is likely in HQ, and only grownups are allowed in there." She was fully prepared to turn around and leave but caught a glimpse of herself in the tyke's pleading eyes and relented. "Okay, fine, but you must promise to stay close to me, and obey, understand?"

Her heart sank initially at Miranda's response. The young tyke stared at her paws, wishing they weren't so soft from staying in Post Kilo all the time. However, her ears pricked as soon as the raiser gave in. "Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you, Raiser Miranda." She breathed excitedly then continued, "I promise I will stay right next to you and won't make a single peep!" Her whiskers quivered with excitement as she imagined the tunnels spreading far and wide through the territory.

"Honestly," muttered the she-cat beneath her breath to herself, "You'd think I would be able to say no to a tyke by now." Chuckling at her own softness, Miranda licked Rose-tyke's head before motioning for them to head out. "You don't need to stay quiet, just remember to be respectful to your elders and only speak when addressed, understood? I know Superior Lark has been working with you guys on respect in our group, right? Just make sure to show the proper deference and you should be fine. After all, this little excursion is a learning experience for you."
Miranda's stomach took that moment to interject angrily at its neglect, causing the she-cat to give a jovial laugh. "Looks like we won't have to worry about badgers, either. If I heard that when I was alone in the tunnels, I'd head the other way!"

Difference. Excursion. Wow, Raiser Miranda was so smart.
Rose-tyke gazed up at the she-cat with round eyes full of awe and admiration. She gave a little nod, at a loss for words for a moment, before letting out a laugh at the sound that erupted from Miranda's belly. "Was that your tummy? I'm hungry too." She purred. "What does a badger look like? I've heard they are scary big with sharp teeth!"

"They're bigger than the biggest mercenary, and their teeth are as long as your leg!" replied Miranda with an ominous look. She knew the tendency tykes had to wander out of Post Kilo, and hoped that instilling some fear in the little one would help keep her safe in the post. "And they can sometimes get into the tunnels. That's why it's so very important to listen to your raisers and never leave Post Kilo without permission, okay?"
The scent of fresh prey grew stronger as the low sound of chatter grew louder, indicating their journey was almost over. "Now, I need you to stay as close to me as you can. It's very busy and I don't want you to get stepped on, understood?"
