Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
“Ah..” she looked away, feeling her cheeks light with shame as she scuffled her paws. “I was.. scared of the sickness..” she explained. “I left because... the fear of.. dying...” her voice rattled as their conversation quickly changed. “When I heard the sickness was gone... I knew it was time to return. Luckily, they accepted me back quickly.”
Wy stepped closer and brushed against her fur before he pulled away again, his gaze softening with understanding. He had left because his sister had gone and his family with her, but he had been terrified as well; they had just given him the courage to go. "They've been very welcoming of all of us," he admitted, "but I suppose they were in dire straits without."
Bulrushfur felt surprise trickle through her veins like cold water. She hadn’t expected the touch, but it definitely hadn’t been unwelcome either. The black feline lifted her gaze, feeling her heart rate slow and calm. “Thank you.” Her words soft, only giving thanks to the fact he was not judging her harshly for her mistakes. “I don’t regret it though... perhaps that’s why I feel so ashamed. If I hadn’t of left, I wouldn’t have my son, Drippaw.”
He stumbled a step as he realized he had forgotten she had a mate and a family and he had just brushed up against her like it was nothing. "Uh, right," he mumbled and shook himself, placing a little more distance between them again. He wasn't sure of the details of her relationship with Puddlestomp but he didn't want to get in their way. "Well, maybe you're looking at it wrong. You left but you brought back a strong warrior for the clan to help them in their time of need. That's a good thing, isn't it?"
Her ears flicked awkwardly, had she said something wrong? Bulrushfur hadn’t realized that he was under the assumption that her and Puddlestomp were still something. To her, their relationship was long over for as long as Egretfeather was around.
Feeling an odd tension suddenly cracklint the air, she gave a slow nod. “Of course. You’re right.”
"How's his training going?" he asked, averting his gaze, tone light. "I saw him the other day, he looked like he was working hard." Drippaw hadn't caught anything that day and from what Wy had heard that wasn't unusual for the apprentice, but he didn't want to say it if it wasn't true. This was her son.
The warrior was glad to avert the subject and delve into something different. “He’s trying... very hard. Clan life is not as easy as life at the barn was...” her voice trailed off, feeling bad for her young son.
Wyverndelirium looked sympathetic. "It must be a hard adjustment. Fishing takes a long time to learn, especially for a cat that doesn't get their paws wet often."
