Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Honeystorm (I couldn't resist some twisting of SunClan customs)
The highland lynx pounced around the base of the White Tree. The kitten had managed to get out of camp and ended up hopelessly lost. Yet she felt confidant enough that she wasn't afraid, she was in DayClan territory and wasn't out in the open. Plus she was pretty sure they were currently behaving nicely with SunClan so there would be no threat if they saw her. So she didn't have to worry about being burned to death by the tyrannical ruler or the Sun God. Which was good because she still couldn't figure out how they lit people on fire with flowers, that is if the rumors she had heard from apprentices were true. That whole clan was wild from what she had been told, it didn't help that at one point she was pretty sure they tried to take over all the clans. Regardless Daffodilkit was choosing to ignore all that and follow a songbird that kept hopping around the base of the tree.
SunClan was a tight lipped group. One that hated any and all information about them reaching beyond their borders. Still, one couldn't prevent everything getting out, and so twisted versions often found themselves swirling about, half-truths mixing with lies and the realities of the clan such that it was hard to pick out truth from fiction in some cases. But no matter what sort of cat you asked, they could attest to the clan being highly dangerous. They'd taken over both SpringClan and DayClan at one point, and then when that fell apart, she'd taken over MoonClan, gave them as a sort of... gift, to DayClan for the previous holding they'd had over them. Their leader, Foxstar, was a character herself. Cunning as a fox, and with a soul that was entirely black and rotted to it's core. She'd both taken and lost a life to her friend, the DayClan leader Glowstar, as well as having taken lives from two other leaders, Burningstar of NightClan, and Leatherstar, now Leatherfern, who'd once lead WinterClan.
In fact, the High Priestess had even cursed a cat, Deal, a former mate of hers, who had been more recently in a relationship with Glowstar. Cursed him to a life of paranoia with the power of the Clan's deity, a power not wielded by other leaders before her. But even she had her faults. In the wake of stealing kits from the Regime, passing them off as their aunt, Glowstar's own children, things had sort of become rocky for the clan. The kits, now apprentices', true mother Shule, had taken one of Foxstar's lives for the action, bringing back two of her kits to the Regime. The Priestess had become enraged, taking on the Regime, only to find they'd been warned.
Which brought them to now, didn't it? Foxstar had been captured by the Regime, though not without consequences that would stretch on for seasons, and SunClan was nursing the wounds of their first true failure in anything during the fox-hearted Priestess' reign.
Sensibly, Pandora wasn't allowed in the battle party. She was a kitten, created by the Sun God himself, a vengeful angel meant to make the DayClan and SunClan leaders get along. And now, the world had been turned upside down. Anger and hate surrounded her daily, the cats of SunClan infuriated by their loss, and the cats of DayClan housing those who hated SunClan.
Well, now the kitten was in an odd state. She simultaneously wanted to scream, cry, and burn the world down around her. She wandered towards the DayClan border from it's SunClan side, belonging to both clans and thus able to travel freely between them. It wasn't like either of her mothers actually paid attention to her anyway, so what did they care if she suddenly disappeared? What she hadn't been expecting, however, was another cat present. She could feel and hear the more lighthearted kitten before she saw her, and the cinnamon swirled auburn she-cat shook her head in an attempt to clear the fog that seemed to cloud it.
"Who's there?" Pandora questioned, rubbing her eyes as she neared the tree, carefully climbing the roots of the tree to try and find the cat she knew to be here somewhere.
Daffodilkit paused on the other side of the tree. Cautiously she sniffed the air for SpringClan scent, petrified that for some reason Cicero was hunting down a single kit. That was the only thing that kept her up at night. Instead, the scent was of SunClan with a hint of DayClan as well. The voice itself sounded young, so with a sense of reassurance Daffodilkit peered around the tree. She came face to face with the rusty coated kit. She was unknown to the highlander kitten who had tried to learn all her clanmates' names or at least all of the other kits. So this was new, plus Daffodilkit had not really planned to run into another kit.
"Who are you?" She asked, perched on a root with all of her paws in a line. Her many claws all helped her balance as she tilted her head to look at Pandora. This was not what she had expected when she snuck out of the camp, a fox or badger was more in line with what she expected to run into. Not this odd smelling, ginger kitten who was alone as well. Her little whiskered twitched as she tried to figure out what she had ended up in. Would she be in trouble for this? Possibly considering she did sneak out of camp, but they couldn't blame her for coming across a SunClan cat right? Unless this was a DayClan kit who had been kidnapped by SunClan then they may not be angry at all.
"Glowstar doesn't like you right now." Not knowing of Pandora's connection to her leader, she was actually referring to SunClan. Daffodilkit thought perhaps she could redirect the other kit if she was really lost cause some of the warriors might be upset with SunClan enough to hurt a kit. She didn't want that to happen, no one deserved to be hurt simply because they were from a clan.
