Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Jade kneaded down some moss into the small dip in the camp wall. It wasn't to bad as it kept most of the wind out and it was a constant home. Though he would admit he couldn't wait til he got to move into camp. Satisfied that his bed was clean, he settled just outside of it. He had brought back two rabbits and a small bird earlier, so he was pretty sure that counted for his contribution for they day. He would go hunting later for his own meal. He had helped one of the apprentices with bedding for the elders after his hunting, mostly because he was about twice the size of them so he could get the higher moss. Jade supposed he could go into camp because it wasn't night time, but it just didn't feel right. The normally bold tom had been unusually mellow since he joined mostly because he was trying to figure everything out. There were a million different rules to learn, he had never grown up with rules like this or rules in general. It didn't help that he wasn't sure where he stood in the clan. Jade knew he was above prisoners and below apprentices, though the only thing that he had been told to do was to hunt. The grey tabby just felt like there had to be something else he should be doing.
It was normal for Diamondheart to make rounds to their refugee camp this time of day. Not only was she worried about some of the kits in their group, but she wanted to make sure that their territory was heavily guarded from any threats inside or out. Rogue scents had been more and more common; it was getting hard to find somewhere that didn't smell of SpringClan rogues at this point. While their actual camp was still somewhat too hard to climb for the normal feline, that didn't stop her from worrying. Just over the horizon, right before she even noticed the camp entrace, she spotted Jade, their newest Trial. With each new cat that asked for sanctuary in their frozen home she grew more and more weary. Were they just rogue spies trying to get an advantage?
"Jade." The tuxedo molly beckoned the tom she appeared before.
Jade lifted his head to look at the deputy. He had not talked to her before, but that was changing now. He felt like he probably should sit up or bow, that was a custom he thought. Yet he felt a bit of dislike come from her. It rubbed the grey tom the wrong way. Though it was probably reasonable on her part, he didn't understand that. "Yes, Diamondheart?" He finally stood up and stretched out. Still, his body language was rather relaxed. "Do you need something?" Perhaps she had something for him to do, or maybe she was just here to criticize him. He flickered his tail as he waited for her response. Jade really wanted to give her the benefit of the doubt, but then again there was a little bit of him that said otherwise.
(SORRY FOR BEING SO LATE) "Would you mind coming with me on a quick hunt? I know you've already done your part for the day, but it's been a while since I've had a hunting partner." She gave him a light, warm smile, yet it masked something a little darker inside. Unlike Valleystar who slummed it with the Trials and Convicts for fun, Diamondheart did it for answers. She wanted to know his story, why he came to their tundra home.
"Oh sure." Jade wasn't quite sure what her motive was though he knew there was one. In his opinion, the tuxedo she-cat should be more accepting of outsiders considering her own past. He at least was never a kittypet, he had been born and raised outside. Though it most likely the fate of his family to be kittypets if he knew anything about where they had been taken. His silver paws carried him through the territory, not really paying attention to where he was going. Diamondstar could chose if she had anywhere specific planned.
"Have you gone to our marshlands yet? It's the most dangerous part of our territory, but the only place where you can catch frogs. They are a delicacy around here. I'd love to show you the place." She smiled, though she always seemed like she hid something behind her light smiles and jade eyes. As the duo started their way over to the marshes, Diamondheart lightened her pace and fell into a stride beside Jade. "I don't know if I ever asked you before- what brought you to your home?" she cocked her head with slightly squinted eyes.
Jade has not been to the marsh yet as he wasn’t a fan of frogs or fish. They were just odd and tasted weird. He had mostly been sticking to rabbits and birds with a few other small rodents. “I can’t say I have been there yet though I suppose it was frozen over when I first arrived.” Wetlands in general were not his forte, having never lived in or near one. The closest was a pond in the park when he lived in the city during the winter.
At the question that was clearly digging into his past, he internally bristled. It was bound to come up, it always did. “The same reason you came here. To find a new home.” He did come because he had lost his family and was not ready to live alone. Jade could have survived alone, but it would not have been a fulfilling experience. So he headed towards the clans he had always heard stories about.
"I came here for much, much more." Diamondheart reminisced. Being the Crowned, she tried her best to keep her past under wraps. It was known that she was far from clanborn- yes- though much of her past still remained a mystery to most. She knew about the whispers that ran through camp about her kittypet past and never really paid much mind to them. As far as her clan knew, they were just rumors. She was a tad ashamed of her upbringing, and so did her best to keep her and her kits mouths shut on it.
"I had my kits in tow when I came to WinterClan. They were barely even old enough to stalk prey." She chuckled to herself as the memories began to swirl around her head. "Before I cam here, I spent much of my time just... wandering. It is a lonely life. One that I do not miss."
