Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Beetuft let out a small chuckle at her son’s reaction to the little bug. “A creepy crawly. Just a tiny, harmless beetle. I think it likes you.” She watched it scuttle around for a moment. “There are lots more bugs in the forest, like butterflies and dragonflies and ladybugs. They’re all quite beautiful.”
"What do those look like? Can we go out into the forest and see them?" he asked, curiously as he watched the beetle scurry away. Hopefully they all weren't as weird looking as that one.
Beetuft smiled down at Speckledkit. “No, no you can’t go outside just yet, you’re far too young.” She gazed off thoughtfully, picturing the most beautiful butterfly she could. “Butterflies are the most beautiful, they flutter around and have these amazing wings with designs that are just so pretty. They live near the flowers and like to sit on them. And a ladybug is just a tiny thing, with a red back and black spots. They fly around all the time but are hard to miss.” She paused, now more invested in explaining the bugs, “watch out for bees, they sting and it hurts but other than that they’re harmless. But, there is much more than just bugs out there. It’s amazing and I can’t wait for you to see it one day.”
"You'll see one eventually. You could get me one, though they're hard to catch." Beetuft flicked her tail. Her stomach growled and she glanced down at the sleeping kits, her muscles screaming at her to move. She shifted a bit away from the sleeping kits, continued to shuffle until her fur was barely touching them. They continued to sleep. Beetuft let out a quiet sigh of relief and stretched on her way out the nest. It felt so good on her muscles. She stood straight. "Alright, I'm hungry. D'ya wanna go help me pick something to eat?" She purred.
She wandered out into the camp, her head continuously turning for the nursery. “So, Speckledkit, what’d’ya think I should eat? I ain’t eating no frogs or bugs though, they’re yucky. We don’t even have ‘em anyway.” The sun warmed her to the core, and she immediately felt her mood climb towards the clouds. Birds sung in the distance, a soft wind dragged her pelt slightly and the scent of new plant life filled the breeze. Her paws itched to go for a run, but she wouldn’t leave her kits alone. She settled on shuffling them instead. “Today is going to be an amazing day.” She purred.
Speckledkit followed his mother on wobbly legs. He realized pretty quickly that he couldn't quite keep up with her bigger steps so he tried to quicken his pace but ended up tripping and falling on his chin. "Oof" he said as he hit the ground, though he quickly rose to his paws again. "I'm okay!" he called as he caught back up with his mother. "What are frogs?" he asked when he caught up. He had only been out of the nursery one other time for only a short time and hadn't seen a frog...or a bug...or a butterfly, Dragonfly, or lady bug. He felt bad for asking so many questions. He was just so curious about the world.
Beetuft watched as Speckledkit got back to his paws and chuckled a little. She remembered when she used to trip over her own paws all the time, matter of fact she still does. "Well, a frog is a slimy little creature. They have these long legs and jump really high." She jumped as high as she could, which admittedly wasn't that high at all. "And they make weird noises like this:" She did her best croak, coughing at the end of it. "They've got beady little eyes and bumpy skin. But, they're harmless. They live near the ponds."
His face screwed up in disgust, "those things sound nasty! I kind of want to see one now!" He laughed before looking at the pile of prey, "I think you should eat this" he mewed, grabbing a squirrel by the tail and trying to pull it out of the pile. Unfortunately, he wasn't strong enough and his mouth slipped and he tumbled backward and landed on his rump.
"Careful, Speckledkit!" She warned, helping to nudge him to his paws. "This squirrel looks delicious, you chose the best piece of prey. But it's like the size of you!" She picked it up. It smelled like the trees, a delicious smell, and carried it to where she could peek inside the nursery at any given point. Just in case. She took a bite and immediately her stomach started growling for more. "It sounds like I have a whole pack of dogs in my belly!"
"Just a little piece. You'll get to taste all sorts of prey in time." She bit off a tiny piece of the squirrel and passed it over to him, continuing herself to take another bite.
He sniffed it before putting it in his mouth. The taste of the forest bathed his tongue and his mouth watered as he chewed. It was difficult for him to eat since he was still so small but what seemed like hours of chewing, he finally swallowed and licked his lips. "That was so yummy! I can see why you eat it!"

Daggerjuggler had smiled at the queens words before exiting silently. He had just gone to make dirt and then fetch prey for the she-cat when he spotted her and Speckledkit out and about. He trotted over with a chuckle. "I was going to bring you some prey, although I suppose I can't blame you for wanting to get up and move around." He purred.
Beetuft smiled at Speckledkit. “Birds taste the best, and they have lots of soft feathers.” Beetuft smiled as Daggerjuggler approached. “I feel as though those kits could sleep forever if I let ‘em. But I don’t have the heart to wake them, they need their sleep.” She glanced back into the nursery and caught the shadow of their little bodies.
"I like feathers!" Speckledkit purred, remembering how soft the feathers were that were in their nest. Then he swung his head toward his father with a slight tilt to it; his round eyes staring up at him. "Hi!" he chirped with a wild grin upon his cute chubby cheeks.

The blonde tom smiled down at his son. He was so cheerful and he looked so strong and healthy, he couldn't but feel a surge of pride and love for the bundle of fur. "Hi, are you exploring with your mom?" Daggerjuggler asked with a light chuckle. He was an awfully cute little kitten. It wasn't his first litter of children but he didn't feel any differently - he already loved them and would do anything for these young future warriors.
Cloudykit blinked open bleary eyes to find just himself and Lotuskit in their giant nest. Tilting his head, the white and strawberry blonde tom padded out on light footsteps to peek out of the den to find his parents and speckledkit near the fresh-kill pile. He strutted over confidently with his head held high upon his approach with a chirped "hello," for all of them.
Beetuft swivelled her head as she heard Cloudykit. Her blue gaze fell upon her second kit and she smiled. “Morning Cloudykit! I thought you woulda slept all day. Lotuskit is still sleeping, right?” She peeked her white and orange head to confirm, and there she was still curled up.
"Yeah! I am!" he replied to his father, excitement gleaming in his eyes. "The world is so neat!" Then his attention snapped to Cloudykit, "Hey you! G'morning sleepy head!"
