Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Stonehill padded out from the warriors' den and out into the center of the camp, the moon was almost full in the sky, which was good for a first night of training, it would give the young apprentice some light at least. "Shadepaw?" Stonehill called to his newest apprentice as he padded up to the apprentices' den.
Shadepaw poked his head out of the nook in the cavern behind the waterfall that made up their temporary camp. He yawned. After them having to stay here for the past few days he'd finally gotten used to the roar of the waterfall to where it didn't prevent him from sleeping.
Unfortunately, despite their move now allowing them to sleep undisturbed by the sun, their usual nocturnal sleep schedule hadn't quite come back to Shadepaw. So he let out a yawn as he exited where the other apprentices were. "What is it?" He asked fighting back a yawn, he knew this cat was his mentor but they hadn't done any training yet.
(omg I'm so sorry it took me so long to reply to this thread!)
"It's time to begin your training. Follow me." Stonehill replied with a flick of his tail, he headed towards the entrance to the cavern. "How does some hunting sound?" he asked, glancing over his shoulder, hoping the sound of a hunt on the first night of training would excite Shadepaw.
Shadepaw shrugged as he eyed the ground, "Is there going to be anything to hunt?" He asked sounding despondent. "Most of the prey got killed in the earthquake I heard."
Stonehill thought for a few seconds before responding. "Yes, that's true... but that means it's more important than ever that we find prey to feed the Clan. Even if we only bring back one or two pieces." he responded. If they absolutely couldn't find anything on NightClan territory Stonehill wasn't above searching the rogue lands. The Clan had to eat, but he decided to keep that to himself unless it became absolutely necessary to tell Shadepaw, he didn't want to scare him on his first night out.
"I don't expect you to catch anything on your first night!" Stonehill sighed. He was perplexed on how to deal with Shadepaw's lack of enthusiasm. He spent at least half a moon at the training hollow every day going over the hunter's crouch and stalking and leaping techniques before his mentor had even bothered to take him hunting, so he figured getting to go on an actual hunt would excite his newest apprentice. "If you don't want to hunt tonight what do you want to work on?" Stonehill prompted him.
"No, hunting is fine." Shadepaw said with a sigh. "Just.." Seapaw had been missing for a while, and now with the earthquake Shadepaw was sure his brother was likely lost forever or something and it was dragging him down. "I dunno, just tired I guess." He said flicking his tail
Stonehill glanced sympathetically down at the young cat. The entire Clan had been through so much devastation recently and Shadepaw wasn't immune to that, he imagined it probably affected the younger cats more so than the older ones. "Keep your chin up, Shadepaw. Things will get better, I promise." he said, heading towards the rogue border, hoping there'd be a better chance of finding prey there than deeper into NightClan territory.
