Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It had started off with a longing for adventure, combined with a negligent mother and an isolated family. The tiny tom had first followed the Hunters out of camp, and then across the land bridge at low tide. He had simply tailed the patrol, which was returning to survey Primal Instinct’s old territory, but the fluffy brown tabby kitten had gotten lost along the way. This mishap had not dampened his spirits, though. He now wandered through a strange smelling wooded area that was so unlike the beach he had been born on, stumbling over the occasional rock. Little did Quill-chan of Primal Instinct know that he was in Summerclan territory, for he knew nothing of the clans at all.
Pebblefur was walking through the forest silently, her mind whirling from her nightmare the night before. She felt sick to her stomach. She hadn't noticed the kitten until she practically stepped on him. "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry, little one!" she looked down at the kitten and noticed that the small tom wasn't one of the queen's in her clan. "Are you lost, dear?" she asked, her voice gentle and sweet.
“Yes.” Quill-chan bobbed his head, managing a bright smile despite the fatigue in his eyes and the mud and cuts on his paws. “I was following a group of cats but they were too fast and I lost them. Can you show me how to get back home?” Quill-chan was no more than three months old, all fluff and bubbles and cheer despite where he came from.
“Back at the camp, like you?” Quill-chan blinked, confused by the question. Didn’t every cat live in camp? Did this she-cat happen to live somewhere else? His whiskers quivered in confusion.
“Fae.” That was a question he did know the answer to. “But I don’t see her much. My dad is Inari, and I see him even less. My name is Quill-chan.” He chattered on without inhibition, beaming.
She perked her ears, those didn't sound like clan cat names. Those almost sounded like Primal Instinct, at least his name did, adding -chan after his name. However, Primal Instinct didn't live around here anymore. Though he did say he followed cats here. "Are you from Primal Instinct?" She asked, her voice still just as gentle as before.
“I think so. That sounds right. This isn’t Primal Instinct?” Quill-chan blinked, looking around at the vegetation. “I guess it does look a little different. What’s your name?”
She shook her head, "no, its not, little one. Your pretty far from home but I will get you there. My name is Pebblefur." She began to walk in the direction on where Primal Instinct had gone while also picking up with kit's scent trail.
“Do I really have to walk all the way back? I’ve been walking since sunrise, and my feet hurt real bad. I’m hungry, do you have anything to eat?” Quill-chan moved closer to Pebblefur, pressing against her legs.
Two days! she thought in surprise. Poor thing! "I'm sure I can find you a mouse! Stay here, okay? Don't move. I will be right back." She stalked off into the undergrowth. After some time, Pebblefur returned, a plump mouse dangling from her jaws. She set it down at the kit's paws, "dig in!"
“Wow thanks!” Quill-chan dug in, taking as many bites as he could with his small mouth. Between every bite he kept talking, his words gargled but still audible. “My mom forgets to bring us food sometimes... my brother Oak-chan finds a small piece for us to share... no one else in the group cares enough to feed four kits... this sure is tasty!”
She purred as she watched the kit eat. However, she frowned when the kit mentioned his mother not feeding him. What kind of monsters were the primal instict cats? Not feeding their kits! "Do you have other siblings besides Oak-Chan?"

It was a nice afternoon and she was just out and about by herself today to hunt. It was nice to get out of the camp and the nursery and the with the mind sickness and everything going on it was a good break and de-stresser. She couldn't forget she was leader but it was almost like she could. She caught sight of Pebblefur catching a large mouse but did not approach, tilting her head. The warrior seemed like she had a mission and sure enough she went running off in the opposite direction of the camp. Curious, the sleek black she-cat slipped into the undergrowth and followed, surprised by the sight that was presented to her. Who was this kit? She would never punish her warriors for feeding a kit - a starving one at that based on how quickly such a large mouse disappeared - but she had to wonder what such a small kit was doing out here.
Emerging from the brush, her grey eyes were calm but did not give away any emotion or her thoughts and she looked between them. "Who is this, Pebblefur?" She asked, not unkindly but in a way that said she wanted answers. Perhaps it was the paranoia that was beginning to set in, but no one could say for sure.
“My name is Quill-chan!” The tom answered before Pebblefur could, his last bite of mouse dropping out of his mouth as he spoke. “Oops. My feet hurt and Pebblefur said I could take a bit to rest before I go back to my home. She gave me food to eat too because I haven’t eaten in two days!” Maybe repeating that fact would make this new she-cat give him a mouse too. “I was walking since sunrise but I gotted lost.”

She perked her ears up in surprise. A young kit out here on his own who had not eaten in so long? She opened her jaws just a bit to scent the air and was further taken back. A league kit at that? His scent was unmistakable, even when masked by the scents of milk and wilderness. She nodded at the warrior to indicate that the she-cat had done the right thing even though it was not a Summerclan kit. "You are very far from home? How did you end up here of all places?" It was a bit suspicious although it was not the first time a young league cat came to seek refuge. Many moons ago before Raven was found and taken in herself, Destiny had sought refuge with Summerclan from the abuse she had suffered there and they had just taken in a Springclan she-cat and her kits who had been abused and tormented in their home clan just days ago.
“I was following a group of Hunters, because they’re checking out our old home, to see if we can come back. I was born on the beach though, but I didn’t know it was an island. I hadn’t seen my mom in two days and my sisters were hungry so I thought I could go catch them something, and maybe they’d like me more. But we walked for so long and they were so fast, and I could not keep up. I can’t smell right now cuz my nose is snuffly, so I wandered around until I found Pebblefur. She has a funny name.” Quill-chan lifted his paw to show Ravenstar the cuts and mud on his tiny paw pads. “I’m all dirty, too.”
