Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
That was what went through Littlebird's mind, as her feet gave way under her weight and she crumpled to the ground. The tremors originated in her stomach as they spread, tightening the muscles as the went. She squeezed her eyes shut, and focused on her breathing. She had been having these 'attacks' more often, as the kits within her continued to grown. She was to small and to young to be carrying kits, and they were taking up more and more room within her. Foxstar feared that she may go into labor early, so she had been taking herbs trying to prevent the contractions and to keep the kits inside long enough for them to grow. They were painful, and whenever they hit it left her helpless. She curled into a tight ball in the grass, anything to relieve the pain coursing through her body.
Jetclaw had just stepped out of the warriors den she heard a thump nearby and turned her head, blue eyes widening when she saw Littlebird on the ground. "Littlebird!" She cried rushing over to the she cat. "What's wrong?" She asked crouching down beside her pelt fluffing up.
It took her a few moment to be able to answer the other she-cat as she let the pain take its course. Luckily the pain usually didn't last long, and would away if she rested.
"I'll be ok" she replied breathily, as her body continued to tremble. "Its just a muscle spasm, and will pass. I just need to rest" she managed to forced the words out one by one, through the pain.
No one but Foxstar, Skipstep, and Singedwolf knew about her pregnancy. She wasn't quiet ready to reveal it to the rest of the clan just yet.
Jetclaw quickly crouched down. "Do you need me to carry you to your den?" She asked worriedly. "I could carry you, do you need any herbs?" She asked blue eyes wide with concern.
"I'm ok really" she replied, though she could tell that the she-cat was really concerned. She wasn't going to just let it go, and if she didn't tell her the truth she suspected she would have a shadow over the next few moons.
"Jetclaw, I'm pregnant" she blurted out. It was the only way she knew to ease the concerned she-cat's mind.
Jetclaw reeled back surprised by the outburst. After it passed she blinked and then her eyes lit up. "You're pregnant? Oh?! Why didn't Skipstep tell me!" She let out a purr and was about to go in to nuzzle her sister in law when she remembered immediately, "Oh right, you're in agony. What can I do?" She asked tail waving as she danced on her paws, anxious to do something to help Littlebird.
After a few deep breathes, the pain began to lessen "I will be ok, I just need to let it pass" she replied motioning for the she-cat to come lay beside of her.
"I apologize for not letting you know sooner. Since I am the Priestess Promised everyone is supposed to find out in an official announcement" she paused, closing her eyes as a ripple went down her sides. "As you probably have figured out, its not exactly been an easy pregnancy so far. We are all worried that I will miscarry, so we delayed telling the clan until I am farther along. Foxstar is working on getting me a herb to stop the early contractions, but until then I just have to take it easy. I have scarcely been able to leave then den for more than a few foxlengths"
What she said was partially the truth. She was having a difficult pregnancy and she had requested that the clan not find out, but she never asked Skipstep to keep it a secret from Jetclaw. She assumed it was out of respect for her, which brought a little smile to her face. She had to admit, he was growing on her.
Jetclaw laid down beside her pressing her side against Littlebird and wrapping her tail around her, tail shifting over her trying to give Littlebird some comfort. "It's all good, I understand, I mean, I haven't had a mate or kits yet, but I doubt I'd be super eager to start shouting to the heavens I was expecting." Jetclaw meowed. "Mainly cause then I'd be in the nursery all day, when I would still want to do stuff" She continued using her tail to rub Littlebird's back. "But good on you, they'll be lovely kits I'm sure and you'll make a fine mother," she assured her.
"Thats what every one says" she replied but she trailed off, gazing into the distance. "I'm not convinced... After all after they way my parents..." she stopped realizing that Jetclaw probably didn't know about her parents. Sure she had probably heard the rumors, but they were very different from the real story.
"Did I ever tell you about them?" she didn't like talking about her time in WinterClan to other SunClan cats. It made them think she was obsessed with her past, and to doubt her loyalties to the Sun God. So usually she held her tongue. However, she was growing more and more comfortable with JetClaw, and she didn't think that the she-cat would see this story as a betrayl
