Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
He had grown larger since his promotion, becoming a quite the hulking ginger tom for someone so young. He lowered his head as he exited the den and sat queitly in front of his mentor. Nothing was really the same without his sister by his side; she hadn't been promoted as she was still too sick to leave the den desingnated to the ill. But he knew he had to be strong for her. Do the work she couldn't right now, and then help her get started when she finally could.
Rainbowsong noticed how down in the dumps Sunpaw looked, she paused trying to think. Right, his sister Breakingkit was among the cats afflicted with greencough.
That was rough, but she needed to come up with something to take his mind off of it.
"For today we're going to be familiarizing you with the territory, and I'll show you where you can get the moss for bedding and for water. If you ever need to gather it." Rainbowsong said rising to her paws. Perhaps giving him some of the tools to help his sick sister as well as familiarize him with the territory would raise his spirits a bit.
His green eyes looked up at his mentor and a small smile formed on his face. "Can we bring some to the sick den?" Sunpaw spoke almost in a whisper. In truth, he was quite excited to finally get out and start training. It was just the guilt of not being able to share this experience with his sister that lowered his spirits.
Rainbowsong blinked, but then she nodded, “I don’t see why not.” She meowed. “Though we’ll have to ask Softpelt first, greencough is very contagious and she might want to keep them quarantined,” The calico meowed grimly.
He frowned. “I haven’t seen Breakingkit in almost a quarter moon now.” He muttered. “I really wanted to see her and help her.” The apprentice sighed. With now flattened ears, he turned away from his new mentor and slowly started his way to the camp exit. “Where are we going to get water?” He asked, trying to change the topic.
Rainbowsong opened her mouth to reassure the young cat that he could probably request to see his sister... it was just a matter of if his sister was well enough for a visit, or there was no risk to Sunoaw. But then she stopped herself letting out a sigh, “come, the water is this way. We get it from the rivers runoff.” She meowed.
