Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
It was finally time! Snowflower crawled out from the tunnel that led to the soldiers' den, bright blue eyes filled with energy and excitement. Her moves were quick and calculated, taking her right to the trainees' den where she approached her very first trainee, Frostpaw. She nudged her gently with a paw, a flurry of purrs leaving her throat. "Time to wake up!" She chittered excitedly, "it's your first day of training!" Snowflower had always been stuck in the nursery as a mother, helping the others with their kits and what-not, so to finally be called a soldier and receive her first apprentice was a big step for her.
Frostpaw took any excuse she could find to get out of the new den she called home. She missed being in the nursery. Although she had been a trainee for some time now, albeit without a mentor, she still remembered the security the nursery gave her. It was safe, and the mothers were nice to her. They didn't make fun of her disability, or ridicule her and mock her mothers name. She could feel Snowflower walking to the den almost a foxlegnth away, and rolled over to face her when she began to nudge her snow white fur. She groaned sleepily, blinking her icy blue eyes open from a not-so-deep slumber. Being hard of hearing had its perks, but many more cons- at least to her, anyway. One of these cons was waking up at every little scent or movement around you.
A soft chuckle escaped Snowflower's throat as Frostpaw rolled over in her sleep, a groan filling the air and coming directly from the trainee. "I know, I know, waking up early sucks, but it's all worth it in the end," Snowflower said, her voice loud enough for Frostpaw to hear; she knew she might wake up the other trainees, but right now, Frostpaw was all that mattered.
"Mmm... Is it though..." Frostpaws voice was muffled as she practically spoke into her nest. Of course she couldn't hear what she was saying herself but at least she knew it would be quiet enough for Snowflower. She whipped her feathered white tail back and forth.
"I think it is! At the end of the day, you've bettered yourself as a whole, and by the end of your apprenticeship, you'll become a soldier! Isn't that exciting?!" Snowflower said, enthusiasm apparent in her voice.
If her eyes were open she would have rolled them. Instead she settled on just rolling over in her again in her nest. "Wooow. Just what I want. Another reason for Mother to control my life." She slowly rose her body and shook her snowhite fur before slowly padding out of the den alongside her new mentor.
