Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
[ i'm a little late with this training thread so let's assume it isn't their first training session cx ]
Hurricane stretched his long blue and grey legs as he woke, parting his jaws in a legendary yawn. It was still early, a little too early for his preference, but they had to go out when there would be prey to catch. As the days grew longer, the surface prey was starting to come out but tend toward the early and late hours, so waking up early was their best chance for hunting today if they wanted to get out of the tunnels for a bit.
He emerged from the Post and headed to meet up with his apprentice, Cadet Aries. So far he liked her a decent amount, and he was thinking of introducing her to his son. He always worried his kits didn't have enough friends.
Cadet Aries blinked the sleep out of her eyes as she stretched her cream ragdoll body. Unlike her sister Pisces, she usually remembered her training sessions- besides the fact that she was already an early bird. Hurricane was a patient mentor. He took the time to let Aries work at her own pace and didn't reprimand or tease her quirks. He was nice.
She rose her body from her nest and shook her orange pointed fur. She let out a quiet yawn and stretched her legs once more before exiting Post Echo and heading to meet with Hurricane. She didn't have to go far though, as she bumped into Hurricane in classic Aries fashion. A way larger frame than her, she bounce back for a moment and shook her head. "Oh! I'm so sorry..."
Hurricane was surprised to round the corner and run straight into his cadet. He stared at her for a moment, his eyes narrowing warily, before he recognized her and instantly recognized. The... difficulties of his personal life had made the happy-go-lucky tom a little more reserved and the last time he'd run into someone it had ended poorly, but comparing that situation to this one, he couldn't help laughing out loud.
"Ah, you know you're alright," the scout reassured her, affectionately cuffing her ear with a forepaw as she got back up. "Eager to get going, huh? I hope you weren't running away from me," he joked.
Aries looked up at his forehead and gave him a small goofy smile. She wouldn't be herself if she could look him in the eyes, although Hurricane was one of the few older members that made her feel safe and smile. Being the very definition of a scaredy cat really was never much help- even if her only fear was social interaction.
"N-No, I... just remembered our training this morning. I've actually been up for a little while." His joke flew right over Aries head of course. Tis one of the curses of her complete lack of comunication skills or understanding.
"Good! I just woke up, so if I fall over asleep on my paws just give me a quick poke and yell in my ear," he suggested. "C'mon, let's head out and see if we can't catch something before everyone else. We'll get out of the tunnels and see if we can't warm up a bit." As much as he disliked getting up early, he did like being outdoors before everyone else, and watching the sun rise. He rarely did that now, it reminded him of his mother, whose recent death had wounded him deeply. He wished he had done it more when she was alive.
Shaking out his fur, Hurricane turned and led her through the maze of the tunnels, confidently heading toward the surface. "What do you think we'll see first?"
"Oh... I don't know.. but I hope we see squirrels first, if anything. I know they usually hang around the exit to the surface." She honestly thought that squirrels were pretty cute, too. She had an idea of bringing the tails to her sister and asking her if she could put flowers in them, but she didn't know how that would look lined around her nest along with her crystal collection. Plus, would that be weird? She's seen other cadets line their nests with feathers and flowers and all sorts of things, but never squirrel tails. Maybe she should ask Hurricane about it before they come back to the Regime later.
