The kadet's brown tabby fur was sleek and well groomed while his cocoa eyes shone with amusement. Sevilin watched the other kadets train with mild interest, occasionally adding a snarky comment here and there. Ah, he loved watching others struggle but it was honestly starting to get boring. With a flick of his long tail, the young tom rose to his feet and began to make his way inside the camp. He brushed off the dew that clung to his fur with a little shake before padding over to the measly fresh-kill pile. Irritation sparked in his gaze as he shuffled through the prey. "Someone ought to go hunting and quit sitting on their haunches." He thought bitterly.
Someone else seemed to have the same idea. Clearing his throat, the tom lifted his head. “Anybody up for joining me on a hunting party? I dunno about you lot but I’m starving.” Rune grinned. He was a Dvoryane, yes, a reward for his duty as Boyar, but he felt more at ease with the lower ranks. Loki E’Clair was turning out to be... quite different from either of her mothers. The white tom’s gaze landed on Sevilin. “You there! Care to lend a paw instead of sitting there like a bump on a log?”

Sevilin turned to Rune, the slightest of smiles reigning on his slender maw. His eyes hid the irritation that tingled under his skin at the Dvoryane's accusation. How dare he assume that the young kadet was not doing anything? Still, he met the gaze of the other tom with a cool flick of his ears. "I was actually about to have a meal. I'm sure Hanna or Pearlyshell are free to go." He meowed simply, flicking his tail in the direction of the two cats. Hanna had just returned from a patrol and was limping towards Lakeveil and Kaliko's den like he had a thorn in his paw. Pearlyshell was curled into a tight little ball, shivering like a pitiful leaf. The once-pretty she-cat had lost a lot of weight recently, but she didn't seem to be busy to Sevilin.
The white tom's pale green eyes narrowed as he looked at each one per Sevilin's direction. Hanna would need tending to, he was in no condition to go hunting. And Pearlyshell... "You're absolutely right, Sevilin." He smiled at the young tom and padded forward. "You and Pearlyshell will accompany me on a hunting expedition." He grinned. "We'll eat while we're out there before we bring back more prey." His green eyes were focused intently on the tom's own eyes, a challenge present there. Test me. I dare you.

Sevilin fought back the annoyed hiss that rose to his throat. Arrogant tom. "Alright, if you insist." He responded with a cool half-smile. He whisked his way to Pearlyshell and prodded the she-cat in the side with his paw. "Get up. we are going on patrol." He snapped before turning back to Rune. "When you're ready."
Irritation flashed across his eyes at the young tom's treatment of the older voiny and he clenched his jaw. If anyone was full of himself, it was the tom across from him; despite his position and his blood, he acted like he was royalty himself, gemstones drifting in his bloodstream. He inhaled a calming breath and closed his eyes. At what point did I become as obsessed with blood as the royals? He shook his head a bit to rid himself of such thoughts. At the end of the day, it was only because of chance that he had the position he did. He had no family connections, no reason to be royal other than Tasman's once good graces. He exhaled softly and padded forward, offering Pearlyshell a warm smile.

Pearlyshell rose shakily, exhaustion from her anxiety clear in her baby blue gaze. She gave Rune a nod and flicked her eyes nervously to Sevilin. His smug expression seemed pleased at her discomfort and he gave her a wink. "U-uh, the waterfall sounds great." She responded, turning back to the former Boyar. "The water might wake me up a bit." The cream and white she-cat offered a small smile that lit up her once-beautiful features for just a moment before it faded away.
"Hmph, I hate getting my paws wet." Sevilin argued.
Rune had been tossing her a pleased and grateful smile, believing that perhaps this trip would be good for all of them, until Sevilin piped up again. You just had to, didn’t you. Already he could feel his muscles slowly getting tired; this kadet sure was a drain. But he couldn’t get ahead of himself; maybe the tom would change his tune when he got there. “Swimming’s good for you, did you know that? It’s one of the best forms of exercise.” He smiled. “And judging by your, uh... perfume I’d say it’s much needed.” He chuckled lightly and continued trotting toward the landmark.

Sevilin gave a gasp of shock at Rune's suggestion. If anyone smelled bad it was the whiny she-cat next to him. "I'm not sure that is me you are smelling." He meowed, nodding in the direction of the white and cream cat.
Pearlyshell had finally had enough of the kadet's bullying, but she could hardly find the words to tell him off. "That's enough." She snapped but it came out weak and cracked. This act caused a snort of triumph to escape the brown tabby's snout. He padded forward ahead of Rune with his tail held high. "Well if you two insist on getting wet then I guess we can go." He responded with a dramatic sigh. They were such a pain, but it might be interesting to go along with them.
The white tom shook his head in disappointment, allowing the younger to take the lead. He turned and blinked reassuringly at Pearlyshell, falling in step beside her. “It’s alright.” He murmured for only her ears. “He will grow out of it one day; though I believe he’ll need to learn from pain.” He frowned in concern as he stared at the back of the tom’s head. “I always ache for those who live their lives in such ways.”
