Sometimes, he loved him. He loved him more than anything in the world. He would die for him. He would live for him. He would kill for him. He would eat the foods he hated for him. He was his world, his life, his everything.
Except today all he wanted to do was bash his skull into the nearest tree. They were flying by too quickly for him though, so he satisfied his craving by giving him a near constant heated glare as they ran through the trees. He couldn't even recognize where they were anymore; at some point they'd definitely left SummerClan territory and had gone off on an adventure to who knows where.
It would've been thrilling and wonderful if not for the raging beast behind them. He grunted and picked up the pace.
"Have I ever told you," he yelled over the wind in his ears and the sound of snarls behind them, "how much I hate you? Because I really think I should!"

Crowmask let out a laugh that was bordering on a cackle as they ran. "Save your breath! You are too busy to hate me right now!" He replied in almost a sing song fashion. Sure, he was plenty worried about the beat behind him but that wasn't going to stop him from having his fun with the other tom. He glanced behind them at the snarling creature before taking a survey of their surroundings thoughtfully. "If we go to the right I think there are twoleg gardens that we can hide in. Two leg monstrosities don't usually follow into places like that." He added before veering right in the direction he was referring to.
The white tom looked at him with a frown and, with an uncertain glance backward, hurried after him, just barely skidding away in time of snapping jaws. Flinching, he resisted the urge to glance back and check on his tail, the tip stinging. Instead, he kicked it into high gear and stumbled after the other tom, all the while curses flying from his spitting lips.
"I am going to kill you, Crowmask, I swear to StarClan I am going to kill you!"

"Jump the fence!" Crowmask called as he spotted some gardens nearby, launching himself as far upwards as possible and clinging to the wood with more maniacal laughter. "Starclan can't hear you here my furry friend!" The black and white tom grinned as he reached the top, narrowing his eyes at the two leg machine as if he dared it to follow the two cats on top of the fence. It was unlikely, they often did not like the borders erected by the hairless creatures.
Zombiedance rolled his eyes. "You live to make my life as difficult as possible, don't you?" He muttered to himself, but his hackles still hadn't relaxed and he could still feel the heat of the monster – though he knew, rationally, that it wasn't behind them anymore – and scrabbled up the fence with multiple grunts and the scratching of his claws against the wood. He narrowed his eyes and clenched his jaws at the tom's words. "When I get up there," he huffed with the effort, "I'm going to-" He reached the top and regained his balance before he reached out and shoved the tom off the other side into the garden.

Crowmask seem to fall over the other side gracefully and landed with a loud plunk. He grinned up at his companion and stretched his tired limbs lazily as if he had not just escaped death and been pushed off a fence by his best friend. His best friend who he would do anything with, he would die for this tom, and yet they were always like this. "I have to say, Zombiedance, you're getting slow. Been eating too many mice?" He grinned mischievously.
His eyes narrowed and he squared his shoulders, stretching himself on the fence until he was holding on only by his toes. Clearing his throat, he straightened his spine. "He prepares for the launch," he whispered to himself, "with a routine of a pike, armstand dive, somersault and bellyflop in the water." He inhaled a deep breath. "On three. One, two..." He launched himself into the air, spun and then landed straight on Crowmask, belly down and limbs outstretched. "And he makes the landing!"

As the tom landed on top of a him a large winded off escaped him as the air in his lungs was completely forced out. "Hey, you furball get off." He managed to rasp, scrabbling at his underbelly with sheathed paws. "Definitely too many mice." He murmured to himself with a heaving grunt of effort as he lifted the tom off and away.
He cackled, feeling himself grow playful once more now that the imminent threat of danger had passed. Going limp and allowing the tom underneath him to shove him off, he chuckled and stood straight. "Serves you right for getting us into this situation in the first place. Now," he looked around himself and 'hmm'ed in thought, "where are we?"

"pfft as if you didn't follow me of your own will." He remarked, getting to his paws and smoothing down a few patches of fur. Glancing around, it appeared to be an old and run down two leg garden. "I don't think anyone lives here. Want to see if there are any mice inside?"
Zombiedance threw him a deadpan expression that bordered on exasperation. “How can you think of food right now? I would’ve thought you’d be a little too riled up to eat. Nothing gets past you though, does it?” He patted the tom’s belly with his tail and padded forward. “Whatever, you go check it out and fill up. I’m gonna see if I can find a way to get us out of here without getting killed.”

He chuckled in response and shook his head, "Nothing is going to get in the way of me or my stomach. Want me to bring you back a mouse? You need your strength, y'know." The tom responded with a light tone but also out of genuine concern for his best friend.
The tom clicked his tongue in thought. There was something about the idea of his friend providing for him that set him on edge. Plus he didn't exactly trust the prey around these parts; what if they were poisoned? "No. Be careful when you do; you don't know what's infected and what isn't." Eyes narrowing, he turned and leaped off toward the front of the lot, peeking his head around the corner of the building. There were two legs walking around but not too many; only one here and there. It was midday, so he assumed whatever it is the hairless creatures did as their duties, most of them were preoccupied. He scurried down the walk and slid into an alleyway. He needed to be undetected; at least, as invisible as he could be. He didn't want to get into any trouble, especially on his own.

He watched his friend disappear with a disappointed look on his face. He could have at least agreed since those fat barn mice would be an easy catch and they were usually much more tasty than forest or field mice. They were always so skinny and scrawny there was hardly any meat on any of the creatures. He watched the tom walk for a few more moments before heading in the opposite direction, slinking towards the barn with no problems. He slipped inside and immediately sniffed around, looking for mice and checking to make sure there weren't any other cats, dogs or two-legs around.
Zombiedance's game of hide and seek with the ignorant passersby continued for some short moments before he located a wide alleyway that, unlike the others, was well-lit by the sun, the roof tops parting to allow the golden light to filter through. The foul smelling black land between the two strips of white was hot on his pads but the fence was right there; and just beyond? The forest. If he focused his senses, he could just detect the familiar scent of feline territory. He relaxed. He wasn't as comfortable with two legs as others who lived their lives like this – constantly on the run. Leaning against a wall for a moment, he caught his breath and thought back on his friend. Was he alright alone? He thought perhaps he'd be fine... Then again, anything could happen in this unpredictable and dangerous place... With that he took off back to the abandoned two leg land, keeping in mind the route he was retracing.

The mice here were slow, fat, and easy to catch. His black and white pelt stuck out a bit against the yellows and browns of the twoleg structure, but that wasn't particularly important because of how easy these creatures were to catch. He quickly ate the first two that he caught and before long had four or five strung up in his mouth that he intended to bring back to Summerclan. Finished with his hunting, he decided to pad out and search for his companion once again. Setting down the mice, he called out his name, glancing around in search. "Zombiedance!" He called several times, ears twitching and swiveling as he listened for an answer.
There was a stumble and the sound of cans toppling over before the tom skid into view, panting. The look in his eyes was wild, as if he’d been spooked. “What! What, what’s the matter? Where’s the?” He got into a fighting crouch, turning in sharp circles. “Where’s the?” He slowed down and blinked. Now that his heart wasn’t racing, he couldn’t detect any danger. He frowned. “Why were you yelling for me?”

Crowmask couldn't help but grin at the tom who appeared suddenly with the loud crashing and banging. "Well, I was wondering where you were and figured it would be faster if I called... it seems I was right." If anything, this told him that the tom would come running any time he called and it made him feel a bit warm and giddy at the same time. "I caught some mice, if you want one. They're absolutely huge." He gestured down at the smile pile the black and white tom had amassed.
The tom’s once nervous and worried expression become one of deadpan anger as he glared first at the mice and then at his friend. But the grin on his face was too much to remain angry and he soon sighed in defeat, nodding his head. “And they aren’t poisoned?” He sniffed one, taking a moment to assess in his mind before nodding in approval. “Alright. But we need to have enough to bring back home. It’s been far too long since we’ve seen Summer’s borders.”

"it's like you red my mind, my friend. I already ate but you can take one or two of these and we can catch more together? Or I can catch them all and you can help me carry them?" He gave a mischievous grin. Crowmask was a very brave tom and scared of little in this world which included twoleg buildings, especially those which looked abandoned or the twolegs allowed them to come in and out of to catch the mice, even if Zombiedance was not a fan himself.
