Blazehowl wandered the forest alone for once. It was an interesting time, having spent so much time with the E'Clairs, and Dinara in particular. He surprised himself even, finding it within his heart to care truly for another cat besides his own sister. He wasn't sure how he felt about it. Once upon a time, he'd given his heart away, and it had been crushed not long after by the she-cat's disappearance. On some level that he didn't want to admit to even himself, he hoped she stuck around, though he wished he could be impassive and uncaring. He could do it with everything else, why not this?
The first time she'd met Blazehowl was a rather awkward and uncomfortable one; he had been with his sister, Lakeveil, and the two seemed to be bristly, longing for an argument or confrontation. Taikatalvi wasn't one to bite – most of the time she tried to avoid conflict as best she could. But seeing the tom alone and... surprisingly melancholy, she felt that her presence wouldn't be as rejected.
"Hello," she said quietly, "would you like some company?"

Indeed, they hadn't exactly met on the best of terms. Of course, things changed, somewhat. Lakeveil had been friends with Tasman, and had been putting in some effort to play nice with the she-cat as well. Blazehowl, well, he was closest with Dinara, Tasman's sister, though for different reasons. If he was startled by the she-cat's presence, however, it didn't show, gaze slowly drifting to land on Taikatalvi. "Hello." The Dvorayne returned, though at least for the moment, he didn't answer her question.
The she-cat squirmed in obvious discomfort of his dismissal of her question. What did that mean? He'd greeted her, yes, and that must be a good sign... but he hadn't come right out and said that he wanted her to invade his space bubble. Was that 'hello' a 'hello can you leave now' or a 'hello I'd actually enjoy talking to you'? She continued to fret internally as she worried at her cheek with her canines, deciding to continue to test the waters – and the beast, so to speak – with her presence. "Maybe we could go for a walk? I admit, I don't know much about you but... I'd like to."

"I suppose." He answered, giving the slightest affirmative inclination of his head, tail twitching for her to lead the way. "I am not particularly busy at this moment."
Taikatalvi blinked. It wasn't exactly the reaction she was expecting – then again, this was Blazehowl, he always seemed like he'd just sucked on a lemon – but it was good enough for the time being. She wondered if she was permitted to talk on this little trip. I mean, she thought to herself, he did say he supposed. Which is kind of consent to ask questions? Sort of? Before she lost the nerve, she made sure to get started on her impromptu interview. "Were you born in BrookClan?"
