( T-minus 15 hours until the RR attack. Foxstar has the clan leave early on their trek to the Regime's territory. Herbs are carried between the Janus, and the rest of the clan is tasked with keeping order, hunting, or fending off any attackers their patrol may attract. )
Zendikdominance let out a sigh as he, once again, had to direct an apprentice to their place towards the center of the group. Yes, yes, they didn't usually get to go out, especially lately, blah, blah, blah. This was the hundredth excuse he'd heard in the last hour, and by now he was entirely immune to the words of his clanmates trying to convince him to let them go have some fun while they were out. What exactly was the point of a surprise attack if everyone went out and had fun? For that matter, why was he the one keeping order? Where was his mother, or Littlebird, or basically anyone else with some authority to help him out?

Romancepaw padded over the cat with a big grin "Come on mr.grumpy face, this battle is going to be lots of fun!" he was naieve, having never been in a full scale war before. Most of his battle training had been one on one and he didn't realize the horrors of was.

Romancepaw shrugged "well just don't get killed then" he laughed a little, keeping pace with the older cat so that they could talk. "We are under the protection of the Sun God, we are his chosen ones. I'm not worried. Even if I do get killed in this battle, I know that the Sun God will take care of me and that I died in his service" He skipped forward a little, walking backwards in front of the tome so that he could see his face "have a little faith. Foxstar hasn't lead us astray yet"

"You clearly haven't been around her long enough." The tom sighed, shaking his head. "Foxstar would let you die a hundred times over if it meant she got what she wanted. Though we'll see if the Sun God can truly see so deep underground, I suppose."

"Foxstar's word is law" he declared proudly without hesitation "If I die by following one of her orders, than so be it. She has to make hard choices, to do what is best for SunClan. I am going to be a SunClan warrior one day, and you can't do that if you are afraid to put your life on the line" The white tom batted at the warriors tail as he walked "It's our duty"
The tom gave an exasperated sigh, shaking his head slightly. "I never said I was afraid of dying here. But you'd be wise to not so blindly trust Foxstar. She's a SunClan traitor herself you know. Maybe the Sun God accepts her now, but she has shown she's willing to betray her own at least once." It was sort of common knowledge that Foxstar didn't have the best of pasts. Most cats, however, never really asked so far that they found out she'd betrayed SunClan, though the information could easily be found through cats like Mountainsound, Ebonygold, and even the Janus. Zendikdominance wasn't just making it up.

"Maybe she did once upon a time" he shrugged, rather unaffected by the statement. "If she wasn't right for SunClan, than the Sun God would do something about it. It's not like he has to keep her around. If the Sun God took her back, why shouldn't we? He knows more than we ever will. He can see into her soul"

It was a fruitless endeavor to argue with someone so brainwashed as Romancepaw. Of course, that had always been Foxstar's goal, and likely part of the reason she so enthusiastically supported the Sun God's rise. It was a deity who let her get away with so much under the guise of loyalty. "Whatever you say. Just remember that the Sun God is chaos at his core. He might just take the chance for his own amusment."

Romancepaw shrugged. He had been raised to accept SunClan's faith without reservation, so the older cats doubts didn't phase his unwavering opinion. "So how many cats do you think you will take out? I just want to get at least once warrior" eh purred, not realizing that is not even what the regime called their fighters

"Mercenary. The Regime calls their fighters Mercenaries." Zendikdominance corrected with a hefty sigh. "Their cats are divided into four main ranks for their warrior age cats. Raisers, the cats who raise their kits, called tykes. Self explanatory. Guiders, a group of healers. Making them one of the most healthy groups of all of us, having numerous cats to treat the sick and injured. The Scouts, their hunters. And the Mercenaries. They're the only rank taught to fight beyond basic defense."

“That seems rather silly to mean. Every cat should know how to fight to defend their home. I see how having extra healers would be helpful, but they are also cutting down their fighting force. How would you defend yourself like that? Wouldn’t it make your group vulnerable? If only 1/4 of your... adults could fight? Do they have bees in their brains? Plus couldn’t we just astute their cats that don’t fight and force the others to give in?” The little Tom could see nothing but flaws with their system

"I suppose you need less cats to guard when your territory is limited to tunnels that only your own truly know." The tom shrugged. "I don't understand it either, but they've survived this long, so something must be working."
