( Foxstar is launching a surprise attack on Renegade Regime following the loss of her second life at Shule's paws, because the Priestess kidnapped her to get Sean and Shule's kits for herself. This has caused Foxstar to fly into a rage and plan out an attack on the group, rather than waiting for them to respond to the patrols she sent to RR a while ago. Unfortunately for SunClan, when they make it to HQ, they are met with the cats of the Regime, as someone spilled the entire plan to the group. In the end, the Regime prevails, and SunClan is driven back, only to find out that Foxstar has gone missing in the chaos, and they're forced to leave her behind as a captive of RR. For reference, this is set after MoonClan has claimed freedom.
You're free to have any cat you'd like die on either side, just make sure to mention it! )
Foxstar, in her anger, still was a cautionary cat. Ultimately, planning had taken three weeks to get down, amidst her recovery, and the need to learn the tunnel structures in order to launch their attack. But the Priestess hadn't forgotten Shule's actions, and she was out for blood. Perhaps that was why she ignored the empty tunnels. The lack of presence of anyone at all. In truth, she did notice it, and by the time they neared the Regime's Headquarters, she fully expected that this was a trap. Even so, she didn't care. There was little that got under Foxstar's skin, but complete and utter humiliation was certainly one way to do it. She was pissed. More furious than she'd been in a long, long time.
Upon stepping into HQ, her fears were confirmed at the sight of the Regime's forces before her. In terms of fighters, SunClan had an advantage, assuming the Scouts hadn't joined in. That however, was somewhat lost with their lack of experience in the tunnels, and the fact that the group had clearly been warned of the clan's coming.
By now, she was far too deep in this to turn back, and the Priestess locked her gaze on Shule, who stood to the front of the fighting forces, her expression darkening to something utterly terrifying. In a heartbeat, her tail twitched an order to attack, and she launched herself forward, directly for the ebony and white she-cat she'd set her sights on.
This was the second time that the tunnels under Mars's command. He knew very well that this meant war. The timing was all to perfect with Gardenia's demotion after attacking Limavady and with Viviana stepping down as chaman. He had been forced to rush his appointment of the next Mercenary Superior. But the choice had been simple in the end. He needed someone he knew he could trust in the times to come. He had gathered his mercenaries to headquarters. He was standing at the front of his ranks. For once the charming black tom had lost his smile. SunClan could not be allowed to win this battle. While they outnumbered the Regime, this was their home and the tunnels was where many of his soldiers had been born and raised.
He could smell SunClan's presence in the tunnels now they were getting closer. "Ready yourselves. We'll force them back towards the entrance." They weren't used to fighting in enclosed spaces like the Regime was." Sure enough, SunClan appeared in the next moment with Foxstar at it's head. Mars would have spoken to her as he would still prefer this to end peacefully, but that was clearly not going to happen as Foxstar had already given the order to attack.
Mars intercepted Foxstar as she launched herself at Shule and the massive black tom met her midway, crashing into her and trying to force her back and away from his aunt. "Leave the tunnels!" This attack was completely unwarranted, but then again he hardly expected Foxstar to have any sort honor so perhaps this really wasn't all that surprising after all.
Snowflight hadn't been a warrior long, but she supposed it should be an honor to be included in this battle. Their victory was certain. They had the Sun God on their side after all. The Regime cats were outsiders, renegades that knew nothing of the Sun God's glory. At Foxstar's signal she launched herself at the nearest cat.

Her ears pricked towards the Commander, but her eyes were trained on the entrance to HeadQuarters. She knew that Sunclan would believe they had the upper paw in this battle, but they were in for a nasty awakening. She rolled her shoulders in the sockets, attempting to loosen them up as they waited for battle. Beryl lashed her tail in fury as the fox-hearted leader made her appearance. Her black paws thrummed against the ground and green eyes blazed as she leaped to rake her claws down the closest cat, that being Snowflight. "Get out of our tunnels, you mangy snowball." She hissed, digging her claws into the other she-cat's side.
Sentinel Aela dove forward after the Commander, attempting a blow on Foxstar's muzzle before whipping around to face another Sunclan cat. The tortoiseshell narrowed her eyes against the sudden uproar of battle. It would be difficult to keep an eye on Mars with the flurry of cats in a small space, but she also knew the Regime must not fail.

Foxstar had been so focused on Shule that she missed Mars until he literally crashed into her, sending her rolling back in the dirt for a moment before she was able to spring to her paws, just barely avoiding Aela's attack, save for a light scratch across her nose she could barely feel compared to the rage burning deep within her soul. "Give me Shule and I will." The Priestess countered instantly, lunging for a strike to his paws in an attempt to unbalance the ebony tom. Honor was a word that she didn't associate with herself. It was a useful tool to abuse, but not something she personally had. No, every underhanded trick in the book was hers to use. She thrived on making secret plans and surprising attacks, such as this had been meant to be. These were the things that had allowed her to fight DayClan, by threatening their kits, and MoonClan, by killing their cats in front of them. If she hadn't been ratted out, she might even have had a bargaining chip now in the form of kits or cats to trade for Shule. No such luck, however. Meaning she'd just have to fight her way to her goal. Seemed easy enough.
The ebony she-cat stood tall and proud, her face a mask of stern and cold, crystalline eyes poring over the Mercenaries behind her. Only a short time prior, and she had been a mere Sentinel, just back from a disappearance of over half a year, getting her bearings once more in the group she'd been taken from. Today, however, was different. Shule stood at the head of the battle party by Mars' side, not as a Sentinel, but as the newly named Mercenary Superior. She hadn't had the time to touch base will all the cats she was now expected to oversee, but that would change in the coming days. For now, however, the Superior turned her gaze to the entrance in the moments before Foxstar arrived, her voice low and ringing with an air of unquestionable authority as she spoke following her nephew's command. "Force them into the walls and tight spaces. Unlike us, they can't fight well in such cramped quarters." She added sharply, only taking a moment to breathe deeply as Foxstar arrived. There would be no time for running, no time to question things now. She could do that later. For now, her job was to keep the Regime safe, especially given that it was her own fault this battle had happened.
Shule slipped away from Mars as Foxstar leaped, disappearing into the fighting crowds in an instant. Though she had the urge to stay, to aid her nephew in defeating the Priestess, she knew full well he could hold his own against her, that the Sentinels would keep him safe at all costs. So instead, she cast her gaze at the SunClan cats, searching for their high ranks, for the cats like Littlebird and Meliodas, and the Janus she knew so little about. Those cats who they needed down and out as quickly as possible.
"You invade our home and attack us and then expect me to give up one of my own?" Mars drew his lips back in a snarl. "You must be delusional!" Instead of allowing her to unbalance him, Mars reared up onto his hind legs before coming back down with his claws extended. Mars was larger and heavier than most. What he lacked in speed, he made up for in brute strength. He knew that he would have to keep his wits about him when battling a foxhearted coward like Foxstar. He had a lot to protect. Momi was in Post Kilo guarding their newborn litter alongside his sister Venus who had just kitted as well. The SunClan cats could not go past headquarters. Of course he had a few mercenaries and the scouts guarding both Post Delta and Post Kilo, but he would rather not have to worry about them at all.
Snowflight had bared her teeth in a snarl at Beryl. Her blue eyes shone with her fury as she turned to clamp her teeth down on Beryl's paw. She could see Frostcloud coming in from the other side as well. Her sister was at her side in an instant to face off against their enemy. By this time Snowflight had released Beryl's paw and while she leaped, aiming to land on her back, Frostcloud dove in to try to knock her paws out from under her. The sisters had their differences, but it looked like they could work together when the need arose.
This was Basil's first official battle. He couldn't believe that SunClan had the audacity to come here. They would just have to be taught what happened when you messed with the Regime. Hearing Shule's command, the young tom had charged the nearest SunClan cat and was trying to force them back towards the wall. "Pathetic coward! Get out of here!"
Honestly, Serenity hadn't wanted to fight this battle, but he also knew that Mars would be looking to test his loyalty to the Regime. Family or no, he had still come from DayClan who was known to be close to SunClan. He had grown up believing his father was a SunClan cat even. Now he stood at the heart of a group of mercenaries preparing to defend the tunnels from attack, an attack that he knew the reason for. While most of the Regime wouldn't know what had transpired, he knew exactly why Foxstar was angry and that just made things that much more frightening.

SUNCLAN Blazestep let out a yip of joy as the flame pointed siamese rushed into the battle. She had been begging for an oppertunity to dig her claws into some regime hide, ever since the last patrol she had been on. Then SunClan's patrol outnumbered the regimes, and they had been able to easily overtake them. She assumed the same would happen today. Her crystal blue eyes locked onto serenity, the cat almost seemed to be quivering from fear. She launched herself forward with no hesitation, she would give the little regime pest a reason to be afraid. fadedecho
Honeysplash stared up wide eyed at Basil, as the much bigger cat tried to push him closer to the walls. He looked like a kit among all the warriors, but to underestimate him was a big mistake "really?" he giggled, easily sidestepping and dodging the clumsy movements of the bigger cats. "We are here, attacking your camp and you are calling us cowards" his shrill laughter ringing out among the growls and shouts "We have been called many things, but that it is a new one" fadedecho
RR Serenity's green eyes shot up just in time to spot Blazestep. His eyes widened as he scrambled out of the way. He mentally scolded himself, telling himself that he was not a newly appointed apprentice and that he should know more than this, but his worries were still there. What if Darkcomplex was here? Would he have to fight him in battle? Honestly he wasn't sure that he could. He was trying desperately to get his head in the game. He knew he had no chance of surviving this battle if he couldn't stay focused. He now found himself looking up at Blazestep. While he had managed to dodge the first attack, he wasn't so sure he would be able to dodge another one. He didn't want to be seen as a coward though so he turned and attempted to rake his claws down the she cat's side.
"You tried to sneak up on us instead of facing us!" He turned to follow the smaller cat. He raised his paw and brought it down hard in an attempt to hit the side of his head. He was faster than him, but he wouldn't be able to do much while recovering from a blow to the head. If he could do that, he might be able to corner him against one of the tunnel walls. Even if he couldn't mange it, he intended on taking care of this pest before he got further into the tunnels. His newborn siblings were in Post Kilo after all and he couldn't let SunClan get that far back.

Rather than try to back away from the rearing leader, Foxstar crowded in, one paw swiping at his back legs as she twisted, the claws on her other paw digging into his stomach as she felt him come down on her haunches, pushing her half into the ground as pain flared along her back legs. She was tall and slim in contrast to Mars, not a brute, but incredibly skilled and with a few tricks up her sleeve. She was a healer after all. Mountainsound, almost inadvertently had taught her the most dangerous places to strike, the poisons and their antidotes, things she could use and build from in her own time. Who needed strength when you could fight dirty?
Arcanepaw of SunClan... No, Kaisra of Renegade Regime. Shule's daughter had left SunClan with her mother after witnessing Foxstar's death and the confirmation of the new Mercenary Superior's story. Now she was facing the clan she'd grown up in, in battle. Luckily, she didn't see Darkcomplex's pelt among the fighters. The mostly ebony feline did however, spot Serenity, as he'd chosen to go by, being attacked by Blazestep. Kaisra wore an electrifying smile on her muzzle, Egyptian blue eyes burning like fire as she dove into the throng, the Mercenary Cadet's claws arcing directly for Blazestep's face. "Touch him and I'll kill you, Blazestep!" She singsonged cheerily as though relishing the idea of flaying her former clanmate alive.
Bian Ayzaria downright skipped through the fighting cats, a gleeful smile on her pretty face. Accented laughter rang through the fighting, as the she-cat pranced around, searching for someone to fight.
Evelyn was slimmer than most Mercenaries, muscular, but with a Scout-like build, made to run and climb rather than fight with brute force. That made her faster, and more likely to be able to compare with the SunClan cats' speed than most. Speaking of... the she-cat lunged for Honeysplash from the side, attempting to shove him into the dirt and help out Basil. "You're looking a little preoccupied. Need some help?" She called to her fellow Mercenary, brow raising at him in a teasingly mocking way.
Noceur hadn't slept in a few days. That alone meant he was on a downward spiral, the former Sentinel quickly losing control of his own mind. With a terrifying scream, he launched himself into the middle of the fight, claws swinging wildly in every direction. Some cats might recognize him from his parties, as the tom often hosted events in the city that ended up most often in bloodshed.
A dark, gilded form that stood above the rest, rivaling his own father in sheer height, Kyros gaze glancing around for an opponent. He was Sean and Abiliana's son, the child of two Commanders and a deadly force in his own right.

(lol if anyone wants to help beryl then that would be cool oops. also so sorry about my lame response oops)
Beryl hissed in pain as the two cats overtook her and when Frostcloud brought her feet out from under her, Beryl rolled over to avoid Snowflight's claws on her back. While she was on her back, she launched out with her powerful back legs to push Snowflight away then quickly jumped to her paws. Her eyes narrowed in fury at Frostcloud and she began to weave back and forth to confuse the she-cat. In the corner of her eye, she saw Basil battling with Honeysplash. She hoped her friend stayed safe and was relieved when Evelyn jumped in to join him.
Anguis sat on the edge of the battle, his eyes flicking back and forth wildly trying to find anyone that was hurt. He heard the screeches and hisses in pain, but there was so much activity that it was hard to pinpoint where they were coming from. His eyes fell on Evelyn and for a moment he wondered if Evermore was as strong as his aunt. Even if she was, she would never help out a denmate. He gave a grunt of annoyance at the thought. At least his aunt had a bit more sense than his mother did.
Dragonswrath attempted to stay fairly close to Foxstar while still fighting, trying to not lose sight of her. His tiny yet strong frame let him swerve between fights easily, and his non-existent fear of death helped as well. The soothsayer felt uncomfortable fighting his old group since he had been there during this lifetime and not a past one, but he tried to push it out of his mind and stay focused.

Blazestep only smiled as Arcanepaw joined in the fight, but was forced to retreat a few paces as the new cat joined in on the fight "You can try Arcanepaw, but you have turned your back to the Sun God. You are no longer protected by his mercy" Not hesitating she charged, her eyes focused on her new target. The only thing worse to her than an outsider, was a traitor.
Honeysplash shook his head "Its not much of a surprise attack, when you knew we were coming" He carefully skittered out the way, his enemies claws only nicking the surface of his skin. This new oponet was faster, and better equipped to fight him than the last. However, that wasn't going to stop him. Honeysplash didn't give the two cats a moment to recover, rushing in and darting between their legs, aiming for their vulnerable underbellies.

To Limavady, this wasn't a battle; it was a ballroom. Cats danced with one another in the purest sense of passion, aching to kill, and sending thrills down each other's spines. All of it, the blood on the dance floor, the aroma of fear and anger pacing within every heart, was all too intoxicating. This chaotic spiral that engulfed HQ... What about it made him so excited? Oh, who cares? It made him feel more alive than ever. His green gaze was enchanted by all the blurred faces, the hissing and scratching, until a path cleared and his line of sight met with a particular feline he'd only seen once before.
There she was. He knew her infamy, her antics, her scent. The frustration on her face was iconic and it was then that he knew who she was. Foxstar. He saw Commander Mars tussle with her, and was instantly met with a inkling he never thought plausible. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. What if... Now was his chance? He'd been working to overthrow Mars behind his back, veiled only by a thin layer of guile. He had done everything in his right mind to make The Regiment great again; he had even gotten far enough to get Mercenary Gardenia demoted and a few of his enemies murdered without getting his paws dirtied.
But now Foxstar was here with an entire army. What if now he reared up and ordered his minions to fight against their own, to side with SunClan, overthrow his Commander for good, and achieve what he'd been working for all along? Outright treason... This was outright treason. Killing in cold blood? Necessary. Deceit? Covering his tracks? Easy. But... outright treason...? He hesitated. This was the regiment, your Honor was your Everything. What about his his dignity as a soldier? He was thinking too critically now, his thoughts became discombobulated by the loud commotion. The Scout Superior, for once in his entire life, stood frozen.
Would he do it? His heart began to pace. Would he do it? The evil within started to crack open, A dark shadow crossed his face. Would he do it? He smiled deviously.
Mars grimaced at the pain he felt, but it was hardly enough to stop him, not when his entire family was at risk from this attack. Even if she had managed to wound him, she was in a very dangerous position at the moment. He would have to try and end this quickly before his strength began to fail him however. He moved a paw forward pushing down on her neck. "Call off your warriors now or you will lose another life." Of course he highly doubted that Foxstar would give up at this point, but he would give her the chance to do so anyway. He had allowed his claws to sink into her neck. He was not in a position to kill her at this point since that was not his intentions. He was tense actually, prepared for whatever move she made next to try and free herself from his grasp.
Feeling a small jolt of confidence at his sister's appearance, Serenity lashed out. He raked his claws down his opponent's side. If his sister was going for her front, he would try to flank her so that they could push her back like Shule had ordered. He knew how to fight. He had been training in DayClan as well. Even if his nerves had gotten the better of him for a moment, he wasn't alone right? He had Kaisra with him. If she was willing to face SunClan, he should be as well.
"If you can get this guy to shut up be my guest. Even his voice is annoying!" Basil was admittedly having trouble keeping up. Honeysplash was hardly the new apprentice that he appeared to be. He was dangerous which had served to bring out a more serious side in the young Mercenary. When he darted underneath him, his inexperience shone in a new light. He did the first thing that came to mind which was to sit down, crushing the tom beneath him. Of course he realized the insanity of his move right away, but he was also to stubborn to admit his mistake and instead continued to sit there to keep him trapped. "Tiny little runt!" While he sounded confident, he was far from it. He just wanted to make others believe this was all sort of some strategy at this point.
Frostcloud grinned at Beryl. "Do you really think something like that will work? You don't even have the Sun God's blessing." Her sister had been quick to recover and was charging in again. She laughed as Snowflight's teeth clamped around Beryl's tail. In that instant, She brought her claws down Beryl's face, doing her best to aim for her eyes. If she could just hit even one, it would give them an even stronger advantage in this battle.

This wasn't the first time that someone had tried to use their larger size against Honeysplash, but he had not yet faced an opponent quiet this large. He could feel the whoosh of air as the large cat began pressing downwards, as he turned on his own back, stretching all four legs upwards. He used the tom's weight against him, extending his claws and letting the weight and motion of the cat sitting down to drive his claws deeper and deeper into Basil's unprotected underbelly. He couldn't stop the tom, but he wasn't going to let him get away with such an action with no consequences either. He was to small to hold back the other cat's full weight,as his legs began to fold.He kept his claws burried deep in his target and began twisting as he squirmed under the immense pressure. He opened his mouth, reaching up to grasp the mass of flesh before him between his teeth, shaking furiously as he struggled to free himself. He could feel his bones begining to break
Chaman Roon was not fighting, but rather awaiting in the darkness of the tunnels. She would be there when one of her fellow comrades should fall, hoping that the blind protector would keep them there longer. She prayed to him that no one would be lost tonight. She was not a fighter, though, and would only get in the way.
RENEGADE REGIME Antediluvian, with a yowl, joined the fight, landing on top of Frostcloud. This is what he constantly trained for, a battle that needed his seasoned claws. With rage he bit down into the she-cat shoulder, screaming to Beryl, "Run!" He released his grip on the she-cat's shoulder and landed gracefully between the two. "Fight someone your own size." he said menacingly.

She let out a furious hiss as teeth dug into her tail, which caused her to be unprepared for Frostcloud's attack. The Sunclan she-cat managed to scratch over part of her eye and Beryl let out another hiss of pain. Blinking through the blood and anger, she was surprised when Antediluvian jumped in next to her. At his comment, the black feline began to feel her blood boil even more. "I'm not going anywhere, you heroic furball." Beryl griped back at her groupmate without thinking. She gave herself a little scolding inwardly for snapping at him, but she had been proving her whole life that you could be smaller than most and still be a mercenary. Taking a breath to calm herself and re-collect her thoughts, she turned to him with a determined, and maybe grateful, gleam in her eye. "We will face them together."
Post by Honeystorm on Apr 30, 2019 13:02:21 GMT -5
Kaisra's laughter echoed above the sounds of fighting at Blazestep's comment, eyes glimmering as she lunged directly into the she-cat's attack with reckless abandon, throwing her front legs around her opponent's neck and letting herself fall to the ground in an attempt to drag the other with her, despite the vulnerable position it put her in. "I think there's one thing you forget, Blazey." The electric look on her face transformed, gaze darkening with lethal intent. "The Sun doesn't shine in the tunnels."
Evelyn bounced up and back to try and get away from Honeysplash's initial attack, though claws still managed to score down her check and across her stomach. Not as bad as it could have been, but not exactly comfortable. She watched Basil as the tom went to attack her ally, preparing to lunge when the SunClan cat appeared out on the other side of the Commander's son... then watched as the Mercenary did the inexplicable and sat down, squashing Honeysplash beneath his massive frame. That had to hurt, both of them probably, and the she-cat quite literally doubled over laughing. He might have fooled someone else, but having witnessed the entire thing, and despite being in the middle of battle, she found it all incredibly amusing. For a good few moments the she-cat tried to compose herself, though every time she looked up to see the tom sitting on the SunClan cat, the older feline fell into another fit of giggles.
Well, this was a compromising position, Foxstar, noted, feeling a paw press down on her neck as her claws detached from his stomach. Mars' question posed an interesting idea, to give up or risk her own death. It was an idea she'd toyed with, giving up her lives to secure victory, though thus far, such a thing had not been necessary. Would she do it? Upon consideration of a few heartbeats, her decision was made, and her right paw rose up again, one previously retracted claw adding itself to the rest, just barely scratching his neck in the process. She had two tricks up her sleeve today, and now she'd used the first, though the Commander wouldn't feel the effects until a few days later. If she was to die again today, then fine. The Commander would learn soon enough that one didn't take one of her lives without losing their own in turn. "Oh no, that would be far too convenient for you." She purred, now choosing to dig the claws of both legs into the one threatening her life.
The newly named Superior paused for a heartbeat in her quest to find a cat to attack to look at Limavady, the tom's expression sending a dangerous feeling coursing through her body. "Don't just stand there, help!" She told her fellow Superior coldly, Shule's gaze never leaving his frame as she spoke.

What is in the darkness, without a spark? All of this Blindness will surely tear you in two You cannot find what you're looking for in the dark What we find in the middle will settle the truth
He took a step into a dim light that fell from the ceiling. It cut down the middle of his face, but was shadowed on the other half. This light showed the scabbing scar from Gardenia, the scar he had earned for demoting her. It placed horizontal from the bridge of his nose, over his eyelid, and under his ear that flicked with a dismissive attitude at the feline before him, insinuating, 'Alright, then. Move out of my way.'
In an instant he was bolting for his opportunity. In the next second, he was diving underneath Mars; sliding in between the gray area of these leaders who claimed to rule darkness and light; using his full force to bump the black tomcat up and off and away from the ginger feline; standing protectively over the SunClan leader with his belly fearlessly exposed to her. His tail lashed, and then he hissed at Mars ferociously, with a fire he didn't know he had within him. He spat like lava, vomiting out a boiling growl, "YOU GET BACK!"
In a moment, her claws were ripped from Mars' leg, claws scratching lightly across her neck in a move that a fraction deeper could have killed her. Blood trailed down her neck as she tensed, poised to rise up and attack whoever joined the fight, the cat didn't smell of SunClan, after all. But, amusingly enough, she found she recognized the tom. From the liberation of DayClan and SpringClan, in fact. He'd been there, been rather mouthy, in fact. For a tom who'd once acted so tough, as though he'd claw her in a moment's notice, he was entirely different now, having chosen to help her at the risk of himself. Foxstar found this both extraordinarily amusing and entirely annoying. She didn't really need the help, though she wouldn't complain about turning a cat traitor to their own group.
She eyed Limavady for a heartbeat as she recovered, but only for that moment before she flipped over and slipped out from under him, flashing a dangerous smile as ivy eyes took in the Scout Superior's full form. "Long time no see." The High Priestess purred, blood dripping down her chest from the wound to her neck. That was a touch close for her liking, but no matter.
