Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Silvershine sat at the bank of the river. The dark clouds above her sent a mist of rain down upon her, beeds of water clinging to her pelt. She smiled and purred, completely content. A low rumble of thunder rolled across the sky. She pointed her nose upward, enjoying the mist on her pelt as she closed her blue eyes. New leaf was upon them and the air got warmer and warmer each day. Flowers were in bloom and new life made its presence quite clear. The silver tabby was too caught up in her meditation to notice a presence.
Umbramoon padded along the shore line following the flickers of fish in the water. She stopped as she saw another clanmate sniffing the air. The thunder didn't seem to even phase her, whereas the she-cat herself was terrified. She hoped fishing would take her mind off of it. With a flick of her tail on her clanmate's shoulder to announce her presence, she looked up to where she was gazing. "Do you see something in the sky?" she asked.
Silvermist startled at the slight touch of her clanmate's tail. "Oh! Hi, Umbramoon" the silver tabby greeted with a nod. "No, I didn't see anything unless you mean the beautiful light show that the lightening is creating" she purred, glancing up at the sky, the clouds lighting up every so often to betray the lightening storm hiding behind them.
The small tabby began to calm as she watched in awe at her clanmate's fascination. "You really think it's beautiful?" she asked, not as afraid of the burning white light when it crossed the sky. Perhaps it wasn't as bad as she thought. It seemed far away, and only in the sky. She wondered where it's tendrils touched the ground at.
"Don't you?" she answered with a question once more, staring up at the sky. Then she looked at the tabby she-cat, "If you are afraid of it, why are you out in the forest? Shouldn't you be in camp?" She tried to sound as gentle as possible. She didn't want to make her clanmate think she was insulting her.
Umbramoon scuffed at the ground a few times before answering. She had a point. "Yeah I guess so. But I was out hunting for fish in the river when it started, and then I sw you, and I've been bored since I was named a warrior.." he said embarrassed. She shook her pelt, flinging droplets of mist and rain. "But I'm trying to be braver.. not that I already am!" she added quickly.
"Of course your brave" Silvermist assured. "Most cats that are afraid of the loud roaring of the thunder and the bright light would have run and hid by now."
Umbramoon thought for a moment before replying, "I'm not sure. It might just be a random occurrence then." she paused. That was stupid of me to say that! she harassed herself in her mind. She wasn't making a good impression on the older warrior. Another strike flit across the sky and she tried her best to stay rigid. "Hey, that one didn't scare me as much. Maybe I just need to get used to it."
