Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. Berryfrost had been excited when her kits were made apprentices, a little sad but still excited for them. They'd all make great warriors in her eyes! But that was a little biased since she was their mother and all. But the she-cat had her own worries regarding apprentices. She'd recently been given one of her own, something she hadn't had in moons. Hopefully, she could teach this little one well, but she had faith in herself. "Airpaw! Ready to go?"
Like a whirlwind, the silver tabby flew out of the apprentice den. Finally, she and sister had been promoted. Sure it was a couple of moons after her brothers, but now this means the real fun can begin. Airpaw skid across camp- missing Berryfrost by a longshot- tumbling her way into the fresh-kill pile. She shook her head and looked around at her mess. Prey was strewn all around her; it looked as if a bomb went off and exploded animal carcasses. She gave her new mentor a goofy smile as she lifted herself from the ground and shook the dirt off her pelt. "Great! Now mama's gonna bathe me again." She hissed under her breath, bouncing her way to the warrior as if nothing even happened.
Berrryfrost hadn't interact much with Airpaw when she was a kit. But clearly, the cat was going to be just as much a handful as Deerpaw was as a kit and still is. If she could hand Deerpaw trying to escape the nursery every few hours then she could hand this apprentice. At least it'd be interesting! "Ready?" The warrior was grinning unable to hold it in as well as she was managing her laughter. The apprentice would not appreciate being laughed at on her first day.
She nodded her head with great vigor. "Ready as I'll ever be! I wanna learn everything! See everything! What are we gonna do today? Can you show me a hunting technique?" Her speech was just as fast as her thoughts and actions- all around a hurricane of energy. Airpaw bounced with every word she spoke as if she couldn't even contain herself.
"I figured we'd explore the territory first." It would build both of their endurance back up, as well as help the apprentice familiarize herself with the lay of the land. Berryfrost turned her back on the kit and started walking towards the entrance, a grin on her muzzle. "But I guess we can hunt if you want?" Every kit wanted to explore the territory, to just get out of the nursery and camp. So, she had no doubt in her mind that this one would take the bait she set and change her mind.
