His ears pricked as he heard scuttering feet across the ground and a rustling of a nearby bush. He licked his lips with hunger as he crouched and crept forward until the mouse came into his site. He leaped and killed the creature quickly, picking it up and collecting another mouse and a squirrel he had caught earlier to take back to camp. Once there, he dropped the prey on the pile with pride and took a mouse for himself, sitting nearby to eat the tiny creature. "Afternoon, it's quite nice out today, huh?" He greeted one of the cat's nearby.
Solarnight's ear twitched as he turned his head, bored amber eyes looking around as if to check Cometwish was actually speaking to him. "I suppose, though I can't claim to pay much attention to the weather." He huffed, a little gruff, a lot dismissive. Turning back to his own meal after his words, thinking that sufficient enough to get the point across that he didn't want to speak to the other. Nothing personally against the other, he simply didn't find much entertainment in trying to get to know strangers.

"How can you not notice it, though? It's been so long since the prey was running and we had this much sun. It's so nice." The ginger tabby purred as he ate more of his meal. Cometwish was a fan of the sun's warmth and the extra opportunities the clan and the members had during better weather and seasons. During leafbare they were always concerned about survival and their next meal, now they could cast their minds beyond that and explore personal growth and fun.
"Yes but every season has it's problems. If it gets to hot then the water sources dry up, or cats get heat sickness. The newleaf also always brings bad storms." Solarnight pointed out casting a sideways look towards Cometwish. "Thus I can't find myself favoring one season over another; as each season has it's negatives." Though leafbare tended to be the hardest of them all the tom still found some enjoyment out of the beauty of snow; or the tranquility in the silence that plagued leafbare.

"Tsk tsk tsk. You're being so negative. Think of all the good things. New leaf and greenleaf bring sun and prey, leaf fall brings beauty and allows us prepare for the coldest of seasons, and leaf bare renews the earth and the prey so that we all may thrive in the coming seasons. They are all very important Bad things happen but we can't just focus on those." He stretched out his paws in front of him, yawning as he did so. The sun did make the energetic tom bit sleepy sometimes.
"If I'm always negative, when something positive happenings it is a pleasant surprise." Solarnight responded with a light hum. "Besides trying to find the positive in everything isn't always the best course of action. Especially when it comes to other cats. You'll be so busy trying to find the positives and ignore the negatives that when they stab you in the back you'll be taken completely by surprise."

He shrugged. "Maybe it's just a skill? I don't search for the positives, I just see them. Of course I can see the negatives too but they are far less important in my eyes. You might call it naivety but I like to call it natural optimism." He purred. "Besides, unless you are getting involved with some sketchy cats you shouldn't have to worry about being stabbed in the back. I don't know what kind of friends you're making." He grinned.
