Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Honeystorm Newleaf had just begun to bring warm weather. Risingshine favored this temperature, as she preferred to bask in the Suns rays rather than freeze in her nest. Besides the fact that her new kit had almost died from hypothermia due to the harsh climate, the ginger she-cat had just never been a fan of cold weather. Today seemed like a fitting day to begin training with her new apprentice, Historypaw. Midday seemed like a good time to start, as the longer days allowed for later daylight. Slowly padding up to the apprentice's den, she flicked her tail back and forth as she locked eyes with the light tan apprentice. She also caught sight of Waterpaw, watching as her daughter made her rounds before laying in her nest. "Historypaw." Risingshine beckoned the young she-cat.
The daughter of a traitor, Historypaw was a cat dedicated to SunClan's cause. Much like her mother, however, she was gifted with knowledge and stories, though she was more inclined to want to listen to the Janus, of the tales long past and the things that cats nowadays could barely remember. All the same, she was excited for the present, her training, as well, and bounced over to Risingshine, offering her mentor a light smile as a greeting.
She nodded her head in return. "The fresh-kill pile is running a bit low. I was going to show you the tunnels beneath our territory, but..." She sighed, her green gaze falling to the ground. "But hunting needs to be done." Risingshine lifted her head back up, giving the apprentice a small but warm smile. "Any part of territory you want to hunt at, today? I'm letting you chose this time 'round."

"The Burial Grounds! I want to see the graves." Maybe that was a bit of a morbid thing to say, but as far as hunting places went, it was an excellent starting place. Temperate from the underground hot springs, and full of mice that liked to feast on the sunflower seeds. Of course, Historypaw was more concerned with learning about all the dead cats, but didn't outright say that. She didn't want to be thought of as weird, after all.
Risingshine couldn't help but smile at her enthusiasm. "I think that's a great place to hunt. We honor our ancestors as they let us hunt on their resting place. I've never heard it myself, but some say you can hear the great heroes past and fallen ancestors speaking to you from beyond." She purred in amusement. Risingshine wasn't as superstitious as the rest of the clan, but she was just as spiritual as any other SunClan member. She herself honored her dead family with a small shrine of her own, just as many of the ones she's seen with the graves at the burial grounds.

Historypaw's ears pricked at the sound of that. It wasn't out of the realm of possibility either. The Senators had told her that their summer festival allowed them to see and interact with the dead, so it stood to reason that they might show up before that as well, assuming she wasn't being lied to about their visit on the solstice. "Let's go!" The she-cat enthused, her tail swishing with excitement.
Risingshine let out a small giggle at the apprentice's excitement. "Alright! To the Burrial Grounds we go!" With renewed vigor in the day, Risingshine almost bounced out of camp with her apprentice. "Have you been to the Burial Grounds or is this your first time going?"
"I've been maybe once or twice." Historypaw answered, giggling in a way that implied she probably hadn't gotten permission to do so, and had just slipped away when no one was watching.
Risingshine raised a brow as her maw formed into a smirk. "Oh really? Would you like to lead the way, then?" She brushed past the apprentice in amusement. "What's given you such a fascination with our ancestors?" She inquired, green eyes quizzical.

She smiled a bit before trotting after Risingshine, "There's so much to know, so much we can learn from them. After all, they've experienced the same wars, the same struggles, a hundred different cats' lives lived over and over again. Surely their knowledge is worth knowing! And even the Janus can't talk to them all on their own."
“You would get along great with my daughter Waterpaw.” Risingshine smiled. She knew that Waterpaw was never the type to take action- especially when it came to making new friends. Maybe her new apprentice would be the type to try and strike up a conversation. “When she was younger, my grandfather used to tell her all different kinds of stories of SunClans past. He was a Priest Promised a very long time ago. He even named her after his sister- my great aunt, who raised me, in fact.”
The closer the duo got to the Burial Grounds, the slower their pace became. The sunflowers peaked just over a small hill from the way they came. “Would you like to see my mother and aunts resting places?” It was a bit of a loaded question, however with Historypaw being the type to ask for stories rather than give a straight yes or no answer, Risingshine figured it was a great way to start their adventure around the Burial Grounds.
A Priest Promised? Historypaw presumed he meant a deputy, and had gone with their current titles for ease of explanation. But she didn't really need it. She knew Foxstar had been the first to instill the change, along with numerous cats, most of whom were no longer a part of the clan. All the same, she nodded, ears pricking at the thought of another cat who loved to learn about the past as much as she did. Perhaps she'd have to speak with Waterpaw then.
She gave a solemn nod at Risingshine's offer to see her family's resting places. Admittedly, she was curious, but even she knew to be respectful of her mentor's suggestion, despite her excitement.
