Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Cloud flattened his ears when Freckledorange rose to his paws. "I didnt hurt you did I?" He hesitantly followed Freckledorange while giving a small side smile to Zephrglade.
"He's bitter when he loses a fight," Zephyrglade said following along side Cloud.
"Am no-"
Freckledorange fell head over heel into the grass almost rolling twice over before getting to his paws.
"Ow."
Glowstar stood up from the massive stalks of wheat. Whipping up her auburn bombshell head to face them. Her emerald gaze lit up in delight, "What a sight!"
"This is Cloud," Zephyrglade purred.
"And I'm charmed. Teheheh, just kidding, that's not a warrior name, I'm Glowstar, pleasures all mine."
"Its a pleasure to meet your aquaintence" the large tom greeted, dipping his head respectfully. "Freckledorange, you okay?" He asked, lifting his head to look over at the tom who had tripped over his leader. "And are you?" He asked Glowstar, his amber eyes soft.
"I'm the leader of DayClan and you're my new friend!" Glowstar introduced apparently the both of them.
"He's also the brother of Lionspirit," Freckledorange mumbled as he finally pulled himself up after finding his mother had no pity for tripping him.
"Lionspirit! He was a great warrior, I've heard some apprentices say they've seen him as a mentor a few times," Glowstar thought aloud, "Anyways what are you here for?"
"Tsk. What a liar," Zephyrglade said, tutting his tongue in disappointment towards Freckledorange.
"You're the liar you blue furred weirdo!" Freckledorange hissed, his fur spiking up immediately before rubbing his paw down his face, "Ugh... No. The apprentices can see ghosts, it's a thing here."
"It wasn't a thing before, I almost like to think that Lionspirit had something to do with it," Glowstar purred.
Cloud's gaze flicked between the two toms, feeling even more confused when Freckledorange said that they saw ghosts. Why did only apprentices see ghosts? He wanted to see his brother. Though, he relaxed a little when Glowstar mentioned that Lionspirit might have had something to do with the apprentices seeing ghosts and his heart almost felt like it was swelling. If that were true, his brother must be important to these cats. "Why do only the apprentices see them?"
"I don't know ghost rules?" Glowstar purred, "It's hard to say, our theory is that apprentices are at an age where they're more open and capable of seeing ghosts. Our medicine cats can see them too, same with emissaries. Personally I don't like seeing ghosts."
"He wants to join," Zephyrglade said to get things back on subject knowing that Glowstar would just ramble about ghosts forever if he let him.
"And so you shall," Glowstar said, a smile parted across her lips like sunlight filtering through clouds.
She turned in the direction of camp, "I will trust you're at warrior status unless proven otherwise. For the first two days I'd like you to feel free to do what you like. Get settled in, talk to some of the cats, join patrols if you'd like or help out where you feel fit. Explore first and then come back to me if you like any particular jobs or prefer border or hunting patrols. Things of that nature," Glowstar explained, "I'll assign Zephyrglade to help you out with whatever you need. He's one of our Bright Brigade members, a higher tier warrior."
Zephyrglade dipped his head before turning to Cloud to see if he was alright with what was being said so far.
Cloud nodded in understanding and agreement before looking at Zephyrglade. "I hadnt realized I was in the presence of a powerful warrior" he smiled brightly.
"Yeah, before that I was a pirate, weird how things go in life right?" Zephyrglade said. Only he absolutely wasn't joking.
"Want to go for a hunt? Or if you're tired you can just come with me," Zephyrglade invited.
Freckledorange stalked over, probably satisfied that his mom hadn't played a cruel game with him and made him look after Cloud. Not that he really had anything against Cloud at all, but it felt insane that they kept allowing just anyone to join... Although again, Cloud seemed qualified and was related to Lionspirit. If anything Lionspirit would have wanted them to allow Cloud in so yeah, maybe it was okay THIS time. But next time, nu uh. He was going to make sure no rando joined.
Zephyrglade's eye moved just slightly as he slowly stalked to the side and slammed his paw down onto a mouse. He held it in his paw for a moment watching it squirm, "Always feel bad killing the poor little guys. Fish are so... Different to kill, dead eyes, no real life. This things the size of a kit, hardly seems fair, but. We're hungry."
He snapped the mouses neck, it took two times before it died, but he walked over to Cloud's side and began to head back to camp. He motioned with his head for Cloud to follow.
Cloud was impressed by how quickly Zephryglade had caught the mouse but the speach he gave before it made him feel bad for the critter. However, he knew these cats survived on prey. He may have been more of a dumpster diver, himself, accepting hand-out occasionally and catching a mouse or two, but he knew the clan cats hunting living creatures to survive. He began to wonder if he had the heart to every day.
Along the way Zephyrglade collected some branches and moss having to set down the mouse every now and then to gather everything. Once arriving in camp he placed everything down, "Here is your mouse and while you're eating I will construct your nest. You can watch me so you know how to do it."
"Thats...generous of you. Thank you" he mewed slowly, surprised by the hospitality from the Dayclan warrior. He settled down to eat the mouse while watching Zephryglade build a nest so that he knew how to make one in the future.
Zephyrglade crushed the leaves into a ball and delicately laid out the moss in strips. His paw stroked gently across each willow branch arranging them into a pattern based on strength. He then took a long strand of a willow leaf and began to rigorously tie the willow branches together getting whipped by them multiple times, "The trick is, you don't show any weakness. You can't let the willows win," Zephyrglade explained before getting whipped again by a willow stick. By the time he was done he was on his back with his paw stuck in the bottom of it which he managed to very delicately pull through and quickly replace moss where his foot had been in order to prevent the nest from self destructing, "You might want to just... Walk into this nest a little carefully. I was kind of a rebellious apprentice who didn't like to listen to their mom so I never learned how to make my own nest, hopefully you'll learn and you can pass your wisdom onto me."
"It can be SUPER dangerous, one of the top reasons warriors end up in Flyingcolors medicine cat den is because we whip ourselves wide open with these willow branches. I keep telling everyone we should just whip people with willow branches in combat, but Glowstar claims we'd never be able to live down being called stick warriors. I think stick warriors has a good ring to it though, change our name to WillowClan in honor of the place we gather the sticks from. Maybe I'm dreaming, but I think this could be one of the most genius ideas I've had," Zephyrglade said proudly before placing the nest into the warriors den, "People like to take the back of the warriors den so they stay warm, but I put yours in a corner away from the wind."
