Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Dovekit sat at the edge of camp, drawing pictures in the sand. Her mind seemed to be occupied as she absently carved into the ground. Her mother and father are on rough turfs and she would rather not be involved. She loved her parents so much but she didn't like it when they argued. Her father, Cardinalheart, that she admired so much, was deputy of the clan. However, when he refused to become leader and allowed Eternalstar to take over, her mother had been furious with him. She saw him from time to time but he was mostly busy with his duties and her mother didn't always want to see him.
She let out a sigh and looked up at the darkening sky. Her blue eyes reflected the stars that were beginning to appear as night began to fall. A cool new-leaf breeze ruffled her gray fur. The warmth of the day was becoming more of a memory as the cool air moved inward. She shivered but she didn't want to go to bed yet. She could hear inside the nursery the bed time stories and songs the other queens told and sang to the other kits.
"What's troubling you?" Shiningkit asked as she wrapped herself around her sister, sitting down beside her, close enough that their pelts touched. Shiningkit was slightly cold, being some of the youngest kits in the Clan, her soft kitten fur didn't do much to keep her warm.
"Mom and dad" she answered simply, looking at her sister with sorrow reflecting in her eyes. She loved her sister. She loved all of her siblings. But having Shiningkit there next to her made things so much better. "I wish they would be like normal mates and put aside their anger and love each other. I hope that when I get a mate, we wont be like that."
Shiningkit nodded in agreement. She hated that their parents didn't get along. A lot of times she'd watch the other kits playing with both of their parents but Cardinalheart only came around occasionally when he felt Lightstep wouldn't rip his throat out. She was too young to understand what their argument was about but she too wished it would just end. "I think they'll work it out, at least I hope they do." Shiningkit meowed.
She nodded, "Me too...Do you think they would ever split up completely? What if they find someone else?" Her blue eyes held concern as she looked at her sister.
The thought of their parents splitting up gave Shiningkit anxiety, she'd never thought of that before. "I don't want them to but at the same time it wouldn't be the end of the world. They both should be happy." she responded thoughtfully.
Shiningkit was right. They both deserved to be happy. However, something else troubled her. "I had a bad dream last night" she mumbled, staring down at her tiny soft paws.
"There were strange cats that came into camp and took control and that me and you had to escape with Cardinalheart" she murmured, remembering the dream vividly. "It was scary...and sad..."
