Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
While the past few moons had been difficult for Venus, she was happier than she had been in a long time. She was free from the shadow Limavady had cast over her. She no longer cared what he thought of her or what he would say. The day she had gathered the courage she needed to leave him, to tell him that Fjord was a better mate than he could ever hope to be, that was the day she had truly freed herself. While others had frowned upon her and her decision at first, Venus kept her head held high. She told her side of the story before her ex-mate could ruin her reputation. She had told them of his abuse. Technically he had never laid a claw on her. His abuse had not been physical. Outwardly he had appeared like the perfect mate. They had been the perfect family. All of that had been a sham however. Limavady had demeaned her, made her believe that she deserved the hidden barbs and insults he had thrown her way. He had tried to control her but he had failed.
Now she was resting in Post Kilo. She disliked going anywhere unless she had to now. She was larger than she'd seen any she cat get while expecting tykes. She had known from early on that her litter was going to be a larger one. It was possible that she carried tykes from both Limavady and Fjord, but either way, she would not let Limavady poison their mind. Fjord was the father they would know. She would be honest with them if they were curious about Limavady, but so long as Fjord was the one around them most as tykes, surely they would see that he was their father no matter who they shared blood with. This was what she was hoping anyway.
She was honestly starting to get hungry, but then again she stayed hungry now days. The trip to Post Echo to collect prey would do her some good though. She hadn't left Post Kilo in several days now and she was beginning to grow restless even if longer trips tended to exhaust her.

Before she could stand to make her way over to Post Echo, Fjord came strolling into Post Kilo with a rabbit hanging from his jaws. His eyes glowed with pure bliss as they fell on his mate. He was glad to see that she appeared more relaxed today than the days before. He couldn't blame her for feeling tense most days. She had to deal with the pressures of leaving Limavady and the harsh gazes from some cats. There were many others who understood her position, though. Fjord felt much more relaxed now that they had no secrets to hide from their groupmates. There was also the feeling of excitement in his chest from the thought of having a family soon. Surely the tykes would be there soon. He often wondered if they were going to have a whole army with how large Venus was getting. He definitely wouldn't mind. The more the merrier, right? There was no doubt in his mind, these tykes were going to be well-loved. The former commander would make sure of that.
He placed the rabbit on the ground in front of Venus and gave the origin a lick on the ear before settling down next to her. "How are you feeling, love?" He asked, a glimmer of concern in his eyes. He could see that she was a bit restless.
"I am starting to believe you can read my mind." She looked down at the rabbit he had brought her and her stomach began to growl as if to remind her of how hungry she was. "I'm a little tired, but I'm feeling fine." She bent down to take a bite of the rabbit. Rabbit had always been one of her favorites, especially now when she felt a constant pang of hunger that drove her to eat far more than she normally would. "I do wish our little ones would make their appearance though. If I get any bigger I'm not going to be able to leave Post Kilo. Well, then again she hardly left now since she knew the tykes were due very soon, but she still would like the freedom to leave if she so desired. "I hope you haven't had too much trouble with Limavady." For a moment worry and perhaps a small bit of fear entered her eyes. "He's not one to cross if you can help it."

Fjord gave her a lick on the ear and took a small bite of the rabbit himself. He wanted to make sure she had plenty to eat since she was a lot hungrier than him nowadays. He was also ready for the tykes to come. In fact, the excitement made his paws itch. "They should be here sooner than later." He responded with a chuckle. "And do not worry about Limavady. He's trouble, but I can handle him." He responded a bit more seriously. Honestly, he thought the tom was absolutely crazy out of his fur. One day he would get what is coming for him, and it was not going to be pretty. Deciding to change the subject, he glanced over at Momi and the tykes at her belly. "Mars must be excited about his tykes and yours. His kin will be running all over the place." He gave a laugh at the mental image of a bunch of little versions of Mars taking over the nursery.
"I believe Mars is looking for a way to demote him. He can't do so without good reason though or Limavady could claim that he only demoted him because of me. It could cause a division among the soldiers. He doesn't trust him though. I've noticed that he usually has at least two of the sentinels with him when he interacts with him now. You know that's not how he acts normally. Mars trusts everyone." Her brother was not an idiot though. Limavady was a treacherous snake and there was no way her brother was going to give him the chance he was looking for. She didn't want to think about Limavady at the moment though. She just wanted to relax and forget about her nightmare of an ex-mate.
At the mention of the tykes, her smile returned. "If they are half as determined as Mars was as a tyke we will all be in trouble." She then gave a small smile. "Did you know that Mars was actually promoted late? He didn't reach the rank of cadet until he was nearly twelve moons old." It was hard to believe when you looked at him now. Her brother was the most powerful cat in the Regime, but his journey hadn't been easy. "He was born with weak leg muscles actually and he had trouble learning to walk. He refused to become anything but a mercenary though. He wanted to be like father. Mother would take him above ground and let him swim to help strengthen his legs." She then shook her head. "But then again he was always trying to find a way out of Post Kilo. Then he had the audacity to wonder why Basil was the same way. I couldn't turn my back on that furball for a minute!" She was purring now as she remembered how energetic Basil had been as a tyke.
She bit into the rabbit after a moment more. She was beyond hungry at this point, but as she ate, she kept shifting uncomfortably while she ate. The tykes were moving and no matter how she sat, she just wasn't comfortable. "We are definitely going to have our hands full. I would say we have at least eight tykes. I've never heard of anyone having more than that, but the litter is definitely on the larger side. She was honestly worried about being able to eat enough to feed that many tykes, but with the arrival of greenleaf, hopefully hunting would be a bit easier for the scouts.
