Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
THESE ADOPTABLES AREN'T DONE, I JUST NEED TO SAVE BEFORE I LOSE IT ALL These adoptables will be heavily based (i.e. are basically the characters, shoot me) from The Hobbit. If you guys haven't heard of / read / seen The Hobbit I highly suggest you do, both because it's amazing and because you won't understand the dynamic of these characters or how to play them if you don't. These babies are very near and dear to my heart so I ask that you look over the notes below:
THE NOTES
do not claim one of these if you aren't going to be regularly active with them.
start off with one. if after one week (7 days) of your adoption, the other(s) you want haven't been claimed, feel free to claim another.
you must post a bio here to claim them. no exceptions.
if you go inactive with these characters (i.e. you leave the site, drop off the face of the earth for months on end, delete them in ACs etc.) i reserve the right to adopt them out again.
THE COMPANY – THEIR CANON BACKSTORY
Bilbo was a kittypet, content in his merry life to tend to his garden and curl up at night in his bed, never anticipating the unexpected or longing for a life of adventure – that is, until one Thorin appeared at his fence, battered and bleeding. Being the considerate Teacup he is, he gave the tom sanctuary and helped mend his wounds – with quite a bit of instruction from the stranger – and learned of his reason for ending up at his door. The dwarf had been pushed from his home, along with those members of his company, and they were making their way to a new home. The forests were fierce, though, and while Thorin was a valiant soldier, he was incapable of fending off three felines twice his size. He had been defeated and left for dead and had crawled his way to Bilbo's gate. Moved to assist the tom – and admittedly excited about the prospect of seeing the world beyond his garden – he joined the tom and his fellow dwarrows on their journey. They faced many great foes and often found themselves in tight situations, but they soon stumbled across BrookClan, where they were accepted into the fold and allowed to find permanent sanctuary within their ranks. However, relationships had evolved and were not the same as when they started – leaving the group to make the ultimate decision to carve a den for themselves in the territory where they could live together as one unit.
THE COMPANY – THE ADOPTABLES
BILBO – an orange, brown and white Teacup shorthair male with brown eyes the color of chocolate. Bilbo is a very friendly and well-mannered Teacup fond of food, drink, his friends and good cheer, and is known for greeting strangers and friends with hospitality saying; "At your service and your family's." His mother's bloodline was fond of adventures and wandering, while his father's bloodline was more fond of the settled life. Bilbo has two different sides to him, something he refers to as the "Took side" (in honor of his mother's family name) and the "Baggins side" (in honor of his father's family name). This means that he secretly relishes having adventures but still wants to remain settled and is very afraid. Bilbo was very happy with his life at his two leg nest, and would have been content to remain a child of his father, had adventure not come upon him. Still very afraid and wishing he had never left his hobbit-hole, the Took side eventually won out. By the end of his travels with the company, he had found he belonged amongst their laughter and good faith, preferring to stay with those he loved rather than return to a life of confinement. TAKEN BY SINFUL
His relationship with Thorin: In the beginning he felt picked on and unworthy of Thorin's company and hospitality, often made to believe the dwarf held no care for him despite his behavior when he had tended to him back at his nest. Over the time of their journeys together, Thorin only seemed to get worse until Bilbo risked his life for the tom, who was incapable of defending himself due to fatal wounds. Once he'd healed, the two were as close as brothers, if not for the near constant pounding of Bilbo's heart in the tom's presence. They'd faced many hardships, none so challenging as Thorin's behavioral change when they found solace in BrookClan and the tom eyed the throne; it threatened to tear not only the two of them, but the entire company, apart. Once Thorin had woken from his power-hungry stupor, however, they vowed to be there for one another until the end of time, thus officiating their relationship.
His relationship with the company: His relationship with the company's an interesting one to say the least; in the beginning they were acquaintances, then friends. Now, however, they are as close as family, with the youngest of their troupe (Ori, Kili and Fili) acting like his children in a manner.
THORIN – a black and brown long-haired Dwarf male with blue eyes. Thorin is smart, proud, brave, intelligent, vengeful and a bit stubborn. He is a sophisticated, noble and exuded royalty and power, but he tends to treat his allies as equals. He is respected by many of the commoners throughout BrookClan. He shares the greed of his family and has an extensive love for gold, though he values the welfare of others as well. He is immensely brave and is willing to give himself up for any just cause, though this may be to a limit. At times he seems to be cruel, stubborn and vain, and has a very high opinion of value. He is obsessed with possession of the Arkenstone, since it was the heirloom of his family. After this journey and rehabilitation in BrookClan, he has grown to not only trust the company and Bilbo especially, but to love and care for them. His main goal, now, is their safety and wellbeing. AVAILABLE!
His relationship with Thorin: When Thorin first met Bilbo, he had his doubts about the Teacup's ability in anything remotely related to fighting; the tom looked perfect for his surroundings: soft, safe, intent on his flowers. But through some urging on the little tom's end, he agreed to bring him into the company; it was the best decision he could have made in his life. He had, at first, envied Bilbo for being able to lead such a decent life without a care in the world; this feeling shifted and shaped into something else though. No less passionate, but something kinder, wilder, and far more difficult to contain. He wanted to protect Bilbo and keep him out of harm's way and many a time he felt the other members of the company felt as he did, which often caused disturbances between them, as Thorin is a very jealous, proud dwarf who isn't keen on sharing. Bilbo was his One, he knew it, and that scared him – enough to cause him to push the Teacup away with harsh and demeaning words meant to rattle the tom and send him back home. Bilbo was resilient, though, and continued to unknowingly tear down Thorin's walls. By the end of their journey, he knew there was no hope for his heart – but then the sickness of his hunger for power came into play. Those were dark times, made darker still by what he did, particularly in regards to Bilbo, but he came out on top of it and now lives his life caring not only for Bilbo but the company as well.
His relationship with the company: His relationship with the company is a special one, as they all respected him and treated him as their leader. He made the final call, he made sure they were safe and on the right path. He, Balin and Dwalin are especially close, as they've fought in many battles together. Kili and Fili are his nephews, sons of his fallen sister Dis and her deceased mate, and he loves them more than anything. After his sister passed, he took them in as his own and the trio has been practically inseparable since.
