Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Fawnheart felt a little weary getting up out of her nest. She had been staying in the warriors den to help prevent catching greencough although she didn't find sleeping in another place much help considering she was around the patients all the time with Softpelt. She slipped out of the den, the rising sun hurt her eyes and her head began to hurt. She just wasn't feeling herself today. She didn't feel hungry either. Perhaps maybe she just had a headache. She entered the medicine den to check up on her patients and to get herself some feverfew for her headache. After she had checked on everyone and taken some medicine for herself, she exited the den and looked around for Foxfoot. He had promised her a little bit of hunting training today.
Foxfoot stepped out of the warriors den and stretched his long Somali body. He caught eyes with Fawnheart and purred softly, nuzzling against her face. "Good morning. I woke up and didn't see you. How are you doing"
She nuzzled him back, "Sorry, I had to go check on the patients" She didn't want to tell him that she wasn't feeling well. "Are we still going hunting, mentor?" She asked, purring.
"Yes!" He answered with a warm smile. "Where you like to go today? Anywhere in mind?" Though she wasn't as familiar with the territory yet as he was, he figured it would be polite to let her chose.
His eyes were wide. "Really? Most, if not, all FallClan cats learn to climb trees. We have unique battle moves that we used from climbing trees. It's very innate to us from birth." He nodded his head at the end.
Foxfoot frowned slightly. "Hey, if you wanna be a hunter, you gotta learn all the tricks of the trade." He said matter-of-factly. FallClan was known for their skill of utilizing the large trees around their territory, and if she wanted to join their clan she would have to learn.
Foxfoot was weary, but he relented due to her drive to train. "Alright. We're going to go a little farther than normal, closer to WinterClan territory. There, the trees are the largest we have. Do you think you can handle it? It's about a half-day journey just to the trees alone."
A half day journey? She thought with dread. She really didn't feel like walking that far. Though she knew this is what she had to do to become a full pledged warrior of Fallclan. "Yes" she said with certainty, praying her voice sounded believable.
He chucked. "Oh Silverpelt- look at your face! You totally believed that." He laughed, though he didn't mean to hurt her feelings. "The trees aren't a half day journey, though they are closer to WinterClan territory. It'll take just an hour or so. C'mon." He continued to chuckle at himself as he slowly walked towards the camp exit.
Fawnheart swatted him playfully in the ear for teasing her and then followed him. She thought she felt well enough to travel an hour or so. That shouldn't be too far, right?
As they journeyed through the territory, Foxfoot noticed Fawnheart moving slower and slower the more they traveled. Finding a clearing, he quickly steered the couple over and stopped once they reached the middle of it. "Do you wanna rest here? We can work on more hunting techniques and work on climbing trees another day." He proposed.
She sat down, relieved to be off her paws and resting. "Maybe it isn't the best day to do some training" she mumbled, feeling really tired. Suddenly she broke out into a coughing fit. After a moment of non-stop coughing and shallow breathing, she finally regained control of herself. She looked at him, her eyes watering and mewed, "I think I should go back to camp and take the day off."
"Let's rest here first. You need to gather your strength." Amber eyes flickered with concern. He lifted half her weight onto him and helped move her to a stone to lay on. "Here, rest here for a while. I'll watch over you, don't worry. Take your time." He gave her a warm smile.
