Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Snowflower was chewing on the bones of a hare as she sat near the fresh-kill pile, her long, plush tail coming to curl around her side as she worked on sharpening her teeth. She was quite bored, and perhaps this would cure said boredom, but alas, none of it had worked. She let out a sigh and rose to her paws, kicking away the bones of the hare and instead looking around camp, trying to find someone to communicate with.
The small fragile bones of what once belonged to some type of bird laid at Hawthorncrown's paws. She swiped her tongue across her lips. While the bird had been small in size. The meal had satisfied her hunger. The soldier looked at the small pile of grey downy feathers that sat beside her former meal. She wondered if she was should give the feathers to the elders or the Mothers for the sucklings. She glanced up and saw Snowflower looking around. "Hey Snowflower." She called out to the other she-cat.
Snowflower had caught sight of Hawthorncrown, and as if on cue, the she-cat called out to her. With a smile, the molly descended towards the other. "Good afternoon, Hawthorncrown," She purred, "how are you today?" The lynx point feline sat against her haunches, and whilst waiting for the other's reply, she lifted her paw to her muzzle and gave it a gentle lick.
“I am doing good today. I am forever thankful for whoever caught this bird this morning. It was rather tasty.” Hawthorncrown replied a purr bubbling in her chest. “How has your morning been Snowflower?” She asked while casting a quick glance at her pile of feathers to make sure they didn’t blow away.
"Ah, yes, that hare I finished not too long ago was quite the treat as well," Snowflower answered, dipping her head in agreement. "So, what do you think is going to happen?" She suddenly asked, regarding Hawthorncrown with a sad stare. "To WinterClan, I mean."
(I'm assuming this thread is happening before Valleystar know's she is the leader of Winterclan?)
The purr in Hawthorncrown's chest came to a screeching stop. She smiled uncomfortably at the other she-cat. It was painfully aware to the whole clan that the Chief Leatherstar and his Jarl Sweetpine had abandoned the clan after the Nightclan attack. "I would believe that Starclan would show Mistyveil a sign or the future leader a sign. I don't think any clan has ever gone without a leader or deputy before?" The she-cat replied using the old terms from her childhood.
Snowflower's mind drifted back to Valleyswirl, her daughter, and her recent nightmares. She had barely spoke a whisper to her mother about it, and it worried her. She knew her daughter wasn't in the right mindset, and no matter how much she tried to help her, she only got pushed away. "Do you think StarClan has abandoned us?" She said, barely above a whisper. "After Leatherstar instated those Gods, the clan fell dark. And now, we are abandoned. Do you... do you think they're angry with us? Maybe if we go back to our old ways..." She sighed, not going any farther. To talk against the Gods was considered blasphemy, and she didn't feel like getting insulted by a God-fearing cat today. But, by the sounds of it, Hawthorncrown was in the same boat as herself.
