Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Under the light of the fading skies she sat outside the makeshift den she and her brother had carved out for themselves, waiting for the return of their mother. Family had been her number one priority since she was old enough to think for herself and to understand that the words 'I love you' were not mere trivial tokens from her mother's silver lips. She strived to be the best soldier she could be to protect both her mother and her brother; she felt it was what she owed them, as they had given her this life of peace and prosperity. It wasn't always fair or pretty, but it was real and it was hers – she was grateful.
Glancing over a black short-furred shoulder and gazing at her brother with green eyes, she blinked, ears flicking. "I think she's coming, brother."
Kol glanced over to his sister to the voice. Of course, he didn't actually see his sister; blindness had settled across him when he was young. All he saw was blurry shapes. Still, he could see her general figure, if nothing else, and nodding seemed like the appropriate action. She was probably right. Their mother had told the duo that she would come visit, and the light was running out on the day. She had to be there soon.
"I'm surprised it's taken her so long," he meowed casually. Unlike his sister, the Cauil-dedicate had never been overly-dedicated to the protection of his family. Of course, this didn't mean that he didn't love them. He loved the two she-cats deeply. Yet, there was something that had always felt off to him, like there was a piece of the puzzle that never quite fit. This missing puzzle-piece had always left Loki the protector, and he, well, along for the ride.
The other she-cat looked to Elora. They were coming close to the den where her children normalyl slept. Would they continue to once they understood what was going on? When they realized they were royalty, and that Elora would move into the Tsar's den, and that they were welcomed to as well? She was unsure. She was unsure about anything, and it was clear in her less-than-confident frame. She didn't look nervous, but the coolness that normally settled along her spine was gone.
"This has to happen," she meowed, half to herself and half to her mate. "They need to know. It is finally time." Yet, despite her strong words, her gaze wavered slightly; was it really time?
The black she hummed in acknowledgement of his words, unsure of what to think about the situation. She was always very punctual, never keeping them waiting longer than necessary. A part of her, the one that wandered into the deep recesses, whispered of all of the horrible things that could have happened. She shook her head clear and padded to his side to keep watch for the white female closer to her brother. She pressed against his side to offer what comfort she could, throwing him a small smile, though she knew he wouldn’t see. A touch of sadness chilled her stomach, just as it always did when she thought about her sibling.
Elora smiled comfortingly at the tortoiseshell at her side, gently resting her tail tip upon her rising hackles to offer what reassurance she could while they continued on the unmarked path. She slowed in her steps when they neared the den; all they had to do was step past this copse and they’d be in sight of the two little ones impatiently waiting.
Loki lifted her head. “She’s here. She isn’t alone.”
