Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
His slender body pulled from the curling fingers of newly green undergrowth; a sign that spring truly was on its way. His crystalline blue gaze cast themselves. The landed upon the object of his attention, the object in which ordered his body to remain deadly still. Not a muscle quivered as he watched the brown and fuzzy creature nibble what looked to be its last meal. He felt sympathy, though life was what you received at birth. And such a fragile thing could be snatched easily. A muscle twitched, and he almost felt empathetic. He pushed the hesitation away and came forward with a frightening speed. The mouse didn't see what was coming. What was once a living life now fell limp in Wolfconstellation's maw.
Pebblefur had noticed the mouse. She crouched and began slowly inching toward it, careful where she placed her paws as to not making a sound. Before she could leap, a tom burst from his hiding place and landed squarely on her prey. She stood up and approached the tom. "Nice catch!" She purred.
He glanced up, a wide smile stretching upon his maw as he exclaimed, "Thanks! I didn't realize someone else was hunting it, otherwise I would have backed off. Sorry." With a apologetic dip of his head, he stood with his catch and began scraping a hole to bury his catch for later collection. Letting the mouse drop into the dug hole, he scraped the earth back over it as he added, "Sometimes I get too caught up in the hunt to actually pay attention to my surroundings."
She giggled, "Its okay. I didn't see you either. I guess thats what makes us a great hunters, huh?" She looked at the tom, amusement and understanding sparkling in her large green eyes.
He chuckled in amusement, ears flicking as he said, "I dunno' about me being a 'great hunter', but I think I've definitely gotten a knack for it." The gray tom gave his entire body a brusque shake before angling his head around the underbrush. The sky was turning a pale, dusty colored orange hue. Just a few flecks of his more family constellations had begun to appear in their usual spots. "I have been hunting almost all afternoon, though. And I've only caught about two things so far."
"I just started hunting and that was my first prey I have been close enough to catching" she purred, hinting that he had taken her only prey but in a teasing and friendly way.
He seemed to smirk in amusement, deciding he could play along as well and gave a small flick of his tail. "Gee, I guess you'll just have to go back to camp empty pawed!" he exclaimed dramatically. "Shame. They'll definitely have to kick you out for totally slacking off, and not getting your prey stolen by someone else." His words were tone with obvious amusement, his eyes twinkling with playfulness.
