While she toyed with the idea of letting them fight, Wanderingwight eventually answered Sean, though her questioned were now directed towards her mother, though her voice was more than enough to carry to everyone gathered around. "We have exactly six kits, five of whom were promoted in the last two moons. Etherealpaw, Angelpaw, Serenepaw, Arcanepaw, Duskpaw, and Cinnamonkit." She listed each of Glowstar's kits pointedly, nodding to them in turn. "You're infertile. Who told you they were yours?"
"What the hell is a zuhra?" the golden she-cat retorted to her siblings, just soft enough that Shule may or may not be able to hear, her eyes narrowed. Generally, she was more surface-level approachable despite everything that went on in her head. But, this was weird, agressive she-cat that was calling her a weird name, so her facade of pleasantness tended to drop. She glanced to her siblings. Both of them seemed to have just as little idea of what was going on as she did, which made her feel no better.
When her brother spoke, Angelpaw blinked. "She best not pick a fight," she muttered, although it was clear that that wasn't exactly likely that someone wasn't going to get hurt. "Two's better than one, though." She spoke lowly to Eternalpaw, before looking back to the cat who was still staring at her.
When her mother stepped in front of her, Angelpaw's ears pinned to her head for a moment. If this had something to do with her, she didn't need to be guarded from the crazy over there. She was a talented apprentice, and although she wouldn't be able to take the much older cat on her own, she wanted to be involved. She side stepped her mom to be able to face Shule again.
"Got something to say, huh?"
Was this the best way to handle herself? No. Was it a way that was likely to get her beat up? Yes. But hey, Eternalpaw said he'd have her back.

"Zuhra.. Behram.. Pebbles.. Kaisra.. Mayar.. Damek." Shule whispered the names quietly, her eyes following Wanderingwight as the she-cat pointed out each of Glowstar's kits in turn. Wait, Glowstar's kits? No. Those were hers. Green was trying to take her kits from her, trying to claim them as her own. With her composure stripped away to nothing, the Sentinel turned slightly to the DayClan leader, her attack only stopped by her niece's question to the DayClan leader. Someone told Green these kits were hers? It didn't make any sense, but the question gave her mind that same feeling of deja vu from earlier that she couldn't quite place, and she paused, if only for a moment, waiting. Something was terribly wrong about this entire situation. But what?
Arcanepaw, of course, hadn't listened to her father's order, and now stood right beside her littermates, gazing at Shule and Sean with interest. The words she spoke were eerily familiar, and though she could have sworn she'd never heard them before, the mostly ebony she-cat tilted her head slightly. "Sounds like names." She offered, "That, or she has insults unique to each of us."
"oooo I want to know what the insults mean! I'd love a few new ones to add to my arsenal," Cinnamonkit meowed tail flicking with excitement the tom leaning forwards in interest.
"I was supposedly infertile when I had you and you're here... Everyone can see her right?" Glowstar asked, almost a little uncertain at the end suddenly flashing back in her head all the times Senescence talked to her and no one seemed to pay her any mind. Was she a ghost? Was FIA a ghost? No, probably not, DayClan cats were probably just intimidated by her daughter and tried not to make direct eye contact.
"Besides, my kits don't even match the time of the disappearance. The kits are six moons old. Except for mamas little potato bean over there, Cinnamonkit just wanted to be a kitten for a wittle bit longer. He's playful like that. Besides, try telling their father they're not his. AND when they roll around in grass they get little green markings like I do."
"I get those too! It's literally a family thing," Sean said and then pouted a bit, "I live underground so obviously I don't get those ugly patches of green on me as much as you would, but if I have to fight above ground my white fur is always covered in green grass stains."
He looked at Shule, "Honey paws, maybe Glowstar just lost them while they were captured in SunClan and doesn't want to admit it. We just have to go there. We can bring back an army tomorrow."
Scarletslasher walked over slowly by Senescence looking at everyone's expressions, "So is this another famous, where's our kits? thing happening again?"

"You told me they were big for their age. That would explain the difference. Answer the question. WHO told you they were yours? Unless you remember giving birth and conveniently left that part out?" Senescence continued to watch her mother, a deadpan look on her face as Glowstar continued to try and defend that these kits were her own flesh and blood, all the while coincidences began to stack up. Her tail twitched slightly at her sister's arrival, and she gave a soft, affirming snort. "Seems like."
"Her kitting was rough, and Foxstar said she was really out of it, so what does remembering the kitting have anything to do with it?" Darkcomplex finally spoke up, his tone clipped, though the tom wanted to scream. They were his kits too, and this Regime cat wasn't going to take them from him. Yet, the world seemed to stop and hang on a singular word in his sentence. Foxstar. For a moment, everything seemed to freeze, as slowly realization crept up on those there. She wouldn't. Would she?
"They're mine Senescence," Glowstar cut in an edge in her tone. It was the same edge she used so often as an assassin. An edge meant to silence.
Her gaze wasn't cold, it was hollow, expressionless. Dark as forests green eyes stared back at Shule and Sean now. A shadow flickered across the planes of her face before they went smooth again and finally apart of her unraveled. She smiled. The kind of smile only a mother could have, to fondly look down at a misbehaving kit with condescending understanding lit so brightly it was almost maddening to stare at, "I might have known that they were too big and I might have known better than to trust Foxstar. I may have guessed there was something amiss... A little secret kept from me. But-"
The tip of her ivory claw shimmered in the light as she placed it below her own chin in thought. Light jubilated in her eyes once more, her smile parting like sunlight through clouds, "Whoever they are and whoever you are to question me, they and you only need to know one thing and that is that I am their mother. You murdered my best friend Sean and then you left me with two kits to raise, they were yours and hers, but you kept seeing your wife's face across theirs and heard their voice coming from their throats. You haven't suffered enough yet," She smiled sweetly and with an animalistic tilt of her head so softly it could send shivers down anyone's spines, "And you never. Will."
"So you know that they're mine and you're still lying?" Sean asked in disgust.
"I know there's a chance that they're yours, but what I'm saying is even if this is personal, I don't care whose they really are whether they're mine or Foxstars, or Dave down the road. They've been my kits for six moons and they'll be mine no matter who you are."

"They're not your, and they never were." Shule's voice cut off Senescence's retort as she took a step towards Glowstar. "You may have been a mother to them, but they are not yours." Darkcomplex's comment had triggered something in her mind, brought memories barely there back to the surface. SunClan. Foxstar. She didn't remember who had said those words, but she remembered them being spoken when her captors thought her unconscious. The High Priestess was responsible for all of this, she was certain of that. Glowstar was merely collateral damage. The Sentinel was beyond angry, however, she understood Glowstar, somewhat. They'd both kill for their kits, and these had been hers, even if they didn't belong to her. "I don't care what you think of Sean, I'm going to confirm that these kits are mine, even if I have to drag Foxstar here for her to tell you that face to face, and then I'm going to be a mother to them, to make up for all the time I've missed." Shule forced herself to stop talking then, stop herself from insisting that the kits would return instantly to the Regime, that she would kill Green if the DayClan leader tried to stop her. She wanted so desperately to say the words, but she couldn't do that, not when she saw Glowstar's hollow look, and Darkcomplex's horror.
If anyone should pay, it was Foxstar, not the people she used.
Rubyflame growled ears flattened. "Foxstar is fond of playing games with other's kits." She hissed glancing sadly back towards the nursery where her own kits with all their issues were hiding from the conflict. Though they did have an alliance with SunClan, Rubyflame would be quite happy if the SunClan High Priestess were to be met with a terrible fate. OR at the very least in this case answer for her crimes.
"So what is this like a whole convoluted thing where the high priestess of SunClan decided to steal us from our uncle... no our dad... duncle? Whatever. And then gave us to our mo-aunt, momaunt, when in reality our aunt is our mom." Cinnamonkit said. "Is that a compliment that we're important enough to be stolen, or an insult because we matter so little we just got passed around like a hot potato." The tom said.
(I'm gonna hop in here since I play Serenepaw now)
"So wait, did mom lie to us?" Serenepaw had remianed silent up to this point and to be honest he still wasn't sure what to think or who to believe, but one thing was for certain, the facts were stacking up and it was starting to look like their visitors might actually be telling the truth. He didn't know what he would do with this information just yet. He was still trying to decide that.

"I don't think so." Arcanepaw interjected, shaking her head as she answered her brother's question. "I don't think she knew for sure, even if she suspected." As for Cinnamonkit... "It's both? If true anyway. We were worth taking, which is a compliment, but it's insulting that we are all being used as pawns in someone else's game."
For such a monumental occasion, the SunClan apprentice, at least, seemed almost disturbingly unphased. Much like Angelpaw, she loved chaos, and this was an interesting situation indeed. Not surprising, given her experience with the High Priestess, however.
"But either way, shouldn't we be given the choice of where we stay or go? If we were stolen in the first place, I at least want to know what the Regime is like. We might have more family there." That wasn't to say he would stay there. He merely wanted to be given the chance to see what the Renegade Regime was like and then be given his choice of where he wanted to stay instead of standing there watching other cats decide his future for him. He wasn't sure if he should bring it up though. Would he get in trouble for speaking out of turn? But still, it was their life so he and his siblings should have a say in the matter.
"Oh what, you're gonna just believe whatever maniac parades into our camp and says they're your mom?" Glowstar asked her son before leveling with him, "Listen Serenepaw, I understand yearning to know a family you never got to know because I was born in the Regime and always wanted to know my father. And you know it was a better life when I left home to live with my other side of the family. But the fact that you just instantly believe in someone you just met without any evidence that they are who they say they are is kind of scaring me."
She looked over her kits, "I loved you with a love that was more than my mom ever gave to me. I came up with a different story for you each night so every night you had some fantastical adventure to look forward to hearing. I woke up at dawn hunting for SunClan and not my own clan just to make sure the clan where you were nursed at was well fed. I would go out at dawn and catch one bird, squirrel, mouse, and a rabbit because you each had a different piece of prey you liked and it didn't matter how tired I was because I loved watching your little faces light up. And while my clan was enslaved and my legs were frozen over with frost bite I never came into that nursery bringing home a bad day, I wore a smile on my face because true strength is happiness and I wanted to give you all the happiness I had in me. Being your mother has been a higher honor to me than being a leader or a deputy or a proxy or an assassin or a spy or anything! I wouldn't trade it for the world... You are my world and it's so hard to see that you might want to leave, but you were never mine to lose, none of my kits are. You're your own person and no matter how old you are or how rotten you are or far away you live you'll always have a home with me."
Glowstar tried to stand still, there to support her children's decision, but the thought of them leaving her. Everything they knew. Hadn't she loved them better than her mom? The mom that had beaten her, destroyed her mind, scarred her body. What did any of her kits know about Shule? Nothing. She wasn't there for them, she didn't raise them. Biology had the least to do with motherhood and love had everything to do with it. She loved them, were they really going to leave her? She would never hold back her kits, but the thought of her love not being enough, that she hadn't done enough to make them happy crushed her inside. She always thought that when she adopted a kit so long as she loved them, gave them everything she had in her that they would see her as a true mom and love her back. Had she just been fooling herself? Was Serenepaw going to leave her for a clan that had tormented and imprisoned her? Were the others thinking of leaving too? Her heart ached, but she remained still, she didn't want to guilt them, she just wanted them to know that she would move mountains for them if they asked. She would be there for them always just as she had for all these moons.
"Serenepaw, you don't need to make a cat your mom to visit places." Cinnamonkit said with a roll of his eyes. "Could you imagine? Want to visit twolegplace? Gotta find a kittypet mom. Wanna go to NightClan? Maybe their leader who adopts any kit she comes across will take you in. Seriously, even if we were stolen," Cinnamonkit got up and sat by Glowstar pressing himself against her enjoying being in her fur for a second before pulling back looking back at his siblings.
"This is mom. She did everything she ever said, and I've never had reason to doubt it for a second. She's taken us on adventures, and if we wanted to go somewhere she'd probably take us there. Even to that weird twoleg food place with the chicken nugget or whatever that tasted so good I ate too many and puked. Which maybe wasn't the best parenting choice but then again I learned my lesson not to eat too many of them sooo you can decide."
He glanced over at Shule. "Besides, if whoever this cat is that waltzed in here and said we're hers is true, then where's she been? It's been 6 moons almost going on 7 now." Cinnamonkit said. "Besides aren't regime cats like tunnel dwellers? Ew. I don't want to get dirt in my fur every day. I get grass stains easy, I don't want to add brown stains from dirt and mud thank you very much. I have an image to maintain."
Serenpaw looked over at his brother. "If you were listening you would know they claimed we were kidnapped. I don't know what to believe or who to trust. What I do know is that I want to know both sides of the story before I make my decision." It might seem cold hearted, but he really just wanted to know the truth and once he knew that and knew about both DayClan and the Regime, he would make his choice. For now he made his way over to Glowstar. "I'm going to go with them for now. I just want to know more before I decide what I want to do." He was conflicted honestly and part of him worried that his siblings might hate him for this, but his desire to know the truth was what was pushing him forward.
"Yeah they claimed we were kidnapped. And even if we were so what?" Cinnamonkit flicked his tail towards Sean and Shule. "Apparently if they are our parents it meant we were so meaningless to our father, he was happy to just leave us where we were, and StarClan knows where our supposed mother has been." Cinnamonkit said with a roll of his eyes. "If you go there they're going to do everything they can to sell you on them, to butter you up with everything they think you want to hear. You think going to the Regime is going to get you the truth? You're a mousebrain! If we want the truth we'd go to Foxstar since apparently she's the one who told mom she's mom." Cinnamonkit said pointedly pressing against Glowstar when he said mom. "Going to the regime is basically you saying 'hmm I'd like to try out what these cats are like as parents, then I'll decide. But I've already decided. Mom is mom! I'm not going to split hairs over who gave birth to me, when I know who I want to be with. It sounds to me more like you want life with the regime and you're happy to ditch mom and the rest of us because it's been conveniently presented to you." Cinnamonkit spat ears flattening. He'd wanted to remain a kit to soak up Glowstar's love and affection, to then learn from his siblings when he finally became an apprentice, wanting them to work out the first moon kinks before he moved up.
It angered him that Serenepaw was so quick to tear their siblings apart to go with their 'supposed parents' when all they'd heard was them telling Glowstar they were theirs... after 6 whole moons. In Cinnamonkit's mind it was too little too late. Especially since it sounded like Sean had given them away in the first place!
A shadow of pain spread across Glowstar's face at Serenepaw's words. She looked from Shule to Sean her temper flaring and suddenly she felt immersed in chaos. One moment was everyday and the next Serenepaw was leaving her, going to Renegade and her kits weren't hers, Shule and Sean were claiming them as theirs. Her heart raced as the images of dirt mounds ghosted past her eyes and her mind began to wander into depths she didn't want to think about and soon it was becoming too much. Glowstar grabbed a paw out pulling Serenepaw close, "No. No because, no more lies."
She pushed herself back from Serenepaw, "I do have blurred memories and I don't know if you're my kit, but I never kidnapped you. Sean is my brother," Glowstar said gesturing to the tom, "I wouldn't steal from family, but I do know for certain there is a monster waiting for you if you go and these two won't tell you the truth, but I will."
Glowstar looked at Senescence to make sure Shule or Sean didn't lunge at her again before sitting down in front of her kits, "Almost a year from today there was a cat named Kotori, it was his graduation day to become a Spy."
"He doesn't need to know this, Green," Sean hissed.
"And he slaughtered the Regime one by one. He murdered his eldest brother, nearly tore the vocal cords out from his predecessor. He killed an elder and moved on to kill a blind queen and attack her kits and murdered his sister who stood in his way. He murdered his grandmother and almost killed Sean. Nothing was sacred to this tom. He wanted to make Sean's family hurt because he was their son and if you are truly Sean and Shule's son then he is your older brother. He might not know you're alive, but once he does he'll find you. So no. I can't let you go to the Regime because I know that's where your reaper is waiting for you. They can visit you here, but you cannot go back home to that death trap. Don't pay with your life for the demon Shule and Sean created. Stay here, Serene... Please," Glowstar begged, but her gaze looked at all of her kits before finally resting on Sean, "That is why you gave them up isn't it? Or did you give them up for a more selfish reason?"
Inside she wanted them to not be Sean and Shule's kits. If they stayed here they wouldn't wake the monster up.
Sean's entire pelt felt hot, he hadn't given them up to protect them from Kotori's wrath. In fact, he automatically assumed whatever Kotori threw at him he could face, however they were even now, as they both had lives to spare. He had given them up out of depression, an inability to care for them or see them without his mate there. After Kotori murdered so many Sean hadn't felt much will to do anything. He wanted to lie and say yes, he gave them up selflessly to protect them from Kotori so they wouldn't hate him, but was the first introduction really going to start out with a lie?
Serenepaw stepped back and away from his mother. "But don't you see? That is why I have to go. There is so much I don't know and every time I think I've learned the truth, something else happens and everything I thought I knew was a lie. I'm tired of being told who I am and what's right for me so no matter who might be waiting for me. I'll find out the truth for myself and then I'll decide where I want to stay." He loved his mother, he really did, but he would never be satisfied living his life here wondering who he really was and what might be waiting for him. He had to know and there was only one way for that to happen. He was confused and staying here wasn't going to help that confusion.
