Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Melodicswan's fur fluffed up against the cold chill of pre-spring breeze — no doubt blowing all the way up from the mountain to caress his almost winter white pelt. He spent most of his days at the abandoned Windmill, watching the clouds with a distant and longing expression upon his face. Up in the rafters he sat, looking out over the lake and to the distant peaks of mountains over the horizon. He faintly recalled when he had been young, an apprentice, hopping around and possibly even break the rules. The thoughts cracked a smile upon his features, making his heart twist with another bought of painful longing.
I haven't made Brakenfire's kitting thread yet but let's pretend she had them ] Brakenfire padded up close to Melodicswan. "Sorry if I'm interrupting your zen. The nursery heat is killing me."
He jumped in surprise as the she-cat appeared as if out of nowhere, glancing and twisting to get better view of her. Standing to his paws, he turned himself so that he could comfortably speak with her. "A new mom, huh?" he asked with an amused twinkle in his eyes. Besides the obvious milk scent on her, he'd also seen her heavily pregnant a couple of days ago. "I don't think I would ever be able to confine myself to a Den like that, honestly."
"Oh, trust me, when Goose and Apple are old enough, I'm moving back to the warrior den. I don't like to be confined either." she said, licking her paws. It was the first time since a few days before her kitting that she was able to clean herself. The wind brushed her mouse-colored pelt and she sighed. "I love it up here. It's scary, but I love it." she said with a smile.
Melodicswan let out an amused chortle, wrinkling up his nose at the thought. "I think that would be my biggest problem. Though I've never had the chance, I would love watching my own kits grow and giving a hand at playing with them," he sighed wistfully. That window had probably passed for the tom, some time ago.
So sorry for the late reply, just now catching up on my old threads lol. ]
Brakenfire nodded. "Well, you're always welcome to play with mine. They're monsters." she said with a laugh. "But I love them.. unfortunately." she said with a joking smile.
The cream colored tom let out an amused laugh, eyes dancing as she spoke of her kittens. "I'm pretty sure they're all supposed to be like that when they're younger. I know I was. Gosh, I was a handful for my mother. I used to terrorize the Clan and honestly, I never knew when to shut up either," he said with a small roll of his eyes, before adding jokingly, "Sometimes, I still don't know when."
Kind of weird still role-playing her as a mother because I don't know if Wolf is still active, and she was the one who approached me to have a character for her kits lol ]
Brakenfire thought of her father, and how he never even wanted her after her mother passed. She sighed. "Well, I just want to give them a better life than I had. I barely knew my mother before she died, and my father.." she said longingly. Maybe that's why she was so obsessed with having a family. "Yet here I am, my kits not even knowing their father."
He blinked at the she-cat, finding he could share in some of her grief. He glanced up through the rafters at the bright blue sky shining through gaps and holes, before focusing back on their conversation and giving a small little shrug. "I never knew my father, either. My mother passed away when I was shortly made an Apprentice; but that was because she was very old... and also, she got sick a lot," he said after a moment of thought. "But I also never needed my father in my life. It sounds corny, but in a lot of ways my father figures became my mentor and even the old Leader, back then. They helped me grow in more ways than I would like to admit. I guess... my point is that it doesn't matter if your kittens' biological father is in the picture? It just matters as long as they have someone to depend on, that can be there for them."
Brakenfire nodded. She appreciated the comforting words from the tom. "Thank you," she said quietly. It made her feel a lot better about raising the kits alone. "Do you want to go hunting?" she asked. Her stomach had quietly started to rumble. "Prey is pretty easy to catch these days." she said with a laugh.
( sorry i didnt reply to your comment above btw i completely forgot to when posting but YEAH it kinda sucks when kittens get users who never end up rping them ;; )
He stretched out his body, giving a wide yawn, before agreeing with her question. "Y'know, I really wouldn't mind getting out and doing some hunting, actually. I've been napping most of the day, so it'll probably be better if I actually do something today," he said with a snort of amusement. Melodicswan leapt down easily from his perch among the rafters, landing with a thump and a puff of dust. Watching the particles drift in the sun for a moment, he gave his pelt a shake and moved out into the forest, turning to glance at the she-cat. "Ready when you are."
Yeah definitely lol, they didn't reply to the AC and I had to delete them literally like two weeks after I added their bios ]
Brakenfire nodded and started to trot away. "Now, it's been awhile since I've caught my own prey. So don't judge me if I miss the first one.." she said, trailing off in a purr.
