Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
(Any amount of cats and members can join in at anytime! ^-^)
Glowstar stood on top of the pointed stones, "Everyone, I have a clan announcement. Because we new leaf has given us an abundant amount of prey I would like to give back some prey to MoonClan. We have used their land to hunt to allow us to survive leafbare. As a gesture of gratitude I would like to make a special hunting patrol to go out and hunt for prey on DayClan land to give back to MoonClan. DayClan is strong and I want to prove to them that we are not a weak clan or ungrateful clan, but simply one that fell on bad times and are willing to pay back what we owe."
Glowstar hopped down from pointed stones, "Who will join me?"
Trailblazer's eyes lit up at the mention of hunting to pay back MoonClan. She had always felt a little off about hunting on their territory through leafbare, but now that the weather was warming she was all too willing to work to pay them back. She had jumped up, rearing onto her hindlegs to make herself seen as she chirped, "I'll come, too." It could also give her the opportunity to perhaps properly meet some MoonClan cats in friendly circumstances.
"Plenty!" Glowstar purred, "I'm glad you're all willing to help, let's go find some prey, any prey that is scrawny we will keep. I don't want them to think that we're insulting them. Anything average or plump we'll hand over so let's catch as much as we can."
With that Glowstar lead the way towards Speckled Fields. Once there she signaled for her clan mates to spread out, hoping that they would either hunt together or remain distant enough from each other where they wouldn't bother another cats hunting.
Windchaser followed Glowstar and then split up, looking for some prey. She scented a rabbit and after a split moment, she saw it crouched in the tall grass, nibbling on something. She crouched down and stalked closer, creeping up on her prey. When she felt she was close enough, she launched and landed on the rabbit. It kicked and squirmed in her grasp until she gave it a killing bite and it went limp in her jaws. She stood up and examined the rabbit. It was plump and would make a great gift to Moonclan. She covered it up with dirt to collect for later and continued to hunt.
Firstpaw and Lastpaw worked as a unit, Firstpaw flushing birds out while her more powerful sister yanked them out of the air with her long, hooked claws. While they had limited success due to their inexperience, they still managed to down a couple scrawny finches and a decent sized blackbird.
Coulterspring saw the other split and thought she'd do the same. Not sure what she would find, she headed south, in search of whatever had a heartbeat.
It took her some time to find an area far enough from everyone else, and even longer to sense prey. A few distant caws showed her the way. She silently crept within the undergrowth of the forest, her brown fur blending well with the spring flourish. A few mouse-lengths ahead of her, she saw two medium-sized black birds pecking at the ground, desperate for nourishment, just as she was. Although, this prey was not for her. She wondered if she would be able to catch both of them. She slunk forward, as quiet as a mouse. With a growl she landed on one of the birds, hooking her claws into the other. With a swift bite, she was able to disable the first. However, the second one pitifully tried to run away, its wing torn by Coulterspring's sharp claws. She ended it's suffering quickly. She knew the circle of life; but it always pained her to see any other animal suffer.
