Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. We may need to receive advice, vent, know that we are not alone in our difficult times, or even just have someone listen to what's going on in our lives. In light of these times, we have created the support threads below that are open to all of our members at any time.
Creekcress wandered into the apprentices den, sunlight gently brushed up against Foxpaw's pelt warming him up. He wasn't Foxpaw's usual mentor, but Mistralstar wasn't able to continue training him. It never ceased to amaze him that even in the afterlife leaders couldn't seem to catch a break. He always thought in death everyone was equal, but turns out. No. The silvery tom gently nudged Foxpaw awake, "Foxpaw," He whispered.
Foxpaw blinked open his brown eyes, the light of dawn seeping into the den and making him squint. He turned to the voice, his vision blurred for a moment before it cleared and he made out the face of Creekcress. He let out a big yawn before sitting up and stretching. "Goodmorning" he greeted his new mentor. It broke his heart that his previous mentor wasn't able to train him anymore. He hoped he would get along with Creekcress as well as he did Mistralstar. Though, that wasn't hard to do. Foxpaw was a polite tom and got along well with others. "I'm not late, am I?" he asked, suddenly waking up in alert.
"This is your life's time, you're only late if you decide you're late. Now, I'll tell you the basics of what I know and you can tell me what you'd like to learn. I was a WaterClan tom so I know how to fish, I know how to hunt for land creatures as well as snakes. I know basic water combat as well as basic normal fighting tactics. I can teach you how to follow a scent to some extent, but everything I know is rather basic skills," Creekcress explained, "But I'll let you decide since I know you've had previous training."
His eyes widened in surprise, a Waterclan cat! He had previously went fishing with Lastpaw and she had taught him how to fish because her spirit guide was also a Waterclan cat. "Well, I have a friend named Lastpaw who had taught me the basics on how to fish" he purred, climbing out of his nest and exiting the camp, walking side by side with his new mentor as they got to know each other. "I would love to learn more about fishing! Although I'm in a forest clan, I still think it's an important skill to have. Every forest cat can hunt mice, squirrels, and birds. However, not everyone can fish! And I want to be one of those few that can do both!"
"Sounds great! I'll teach you to be a good fisher then. In WaterClan it was hard, BrookClan wanted fish too so we would feud sometimes, but you don't have that kind of rivalry with the other clans," Creekcress said as he guided the way through Speckled Field, but suddenly he stopped short. A visible chill crawled up the toms spine as he backed away and turned to Foxpaw, "We should go back, there's a rogues corpse. Can you smell it? I don't know if it was natural causes or not, but just to be safe maybe we should go a different way."
The fox colored tom sniffed the air. Creekcress was right, there was a rogue corpse. "Its okay. Im training to be a grave digger too. It will be my job to get rid of corpses.
Creekcress couldn't get his fur to lay flat, "Yeah okay," He agreed still feeling uncertain about the whole situation. After all if things went wrong unlike a normal mentor there was nothing he could do. He padded away from Foxpaw deciding to remain vigilant of the surrounding area while Foxpaw practiced digging up a grave.
