Foxfoot silently padded out of his den as the moon began to creep down from the sky, soon to be replaced by the sun. The sky itself was painted like watercolors of purple and pink dripping into indigo and cerulean. With no one in sight, he looked back to make sure his absence wasn't alerting anyone. He slipped around camp, sticking to the walls as he silently made his way out into the forest. He sniffed the air quickly, making sure no one was following, before sliding deeper into the bush.

Twlightdream was excited to finally be out and free. She had just been promoted to a warrior not too long ago and she was bounding with energy, she had been kept as an apprentice for far too long. On top of it, she preferred going out at night. There were less cats prowling about and she could just mind her own business without worrying about what everyone else was doing. Now, however, she was halfway up a branch when she heard a loud pop! Coming from it. "Foxdung." She spat, trying to remain as still as possible to prevent the branch from falling.
Hearing someone - or something - nearby she called out, "Careful! This branch is about to break." The last thing she needed was someone else underpaw.
He spun his body to face the voice he heard, but he just couldn't pinpoint the exact location. When the cracks began to get louder and louder, that's when he realized: Twilightdream was above him. He quickly dashed away, peaking back to lock amber eyes onto his young Clanmate. "Hey, get down here! You're gonna get hurt!" He yelled, cautiously beginning to make his way back to her.

She ignored him, clenching her teeth and leaping up to the next branch safely, the original one falling to the ground with a loud creaking snap and a smash. The pale cream she-cat peered over her current branch with a sigh of relief. Looking up, her blue eyes locked onto Foxfoot. "Are you okay? Sorry, it wasn't supposed to... errr... break."
Foxfoot shook his head. "I'm fine, but don't worry about me! You need to get down!" He scanned the tree Twilightdream found herself in, trying to make a path to safety in his head. It was an old oak tree, probably died due to the colder than usual weather during leaf-bare. After some consideration, Foxfoot decided to climb up and get Twilightdream down himself. Or, at least show her the way. As he approached the tree he yelled up to her, "Hang in there, I'm coming to get you!"

Hey blue eyes shine with amusement and curiosity at his actions and she stretched her paws out in front of her lazily. "Don't worry too much about me, I'll be fine. It was just that one branch. Besides, getting down is the easy part." She purred, shaking her fur out gently. "It would probably be more dangerous with you in the tree as well. What will be, will be." She meowed. The young warrior had already discovered that bad things happened and followed her wherever she went, almost like a plague. It used to stress her out but recently... she had taken a more fun and laid back approach to not dying.
Foxfoot stopped in surprise, not expecting her to bring up either of those factors. He hadn't figured that both their weight would bring down the tree, though upon second thought he decided to agree with her on that one. Though, why did she want to be up there? He squinted up at Twilightdream, trying to make out who she was, but he just couldn't seem to put two and two together. He could tell that she's a clanmate, definitely a warrior by how early she's out. But, who exactly was she? Who in the clan would get themselves into this kind of mess? He lightly sighed. "Well, if getting down is so easy, why don't you come down and hunt with me?" If she wouldn't listen to his concerns, maybe she would show herself by proving her abilities.

(Sorry, I've been off sick but I am officially back!)
"Hmmm," she considered his offer, her soft blue eyes studying him with curiosity as she did so. Without another word, she carefully navigated her way off the branch slowly but carefully until she was hugging the tree and she jumped down to a different and much sturdier branch. The air was silent as she made several similar leaps before landing near him with a soft thud. "Hunting sounds nice," the warrior finally announced as she shook a few pine needles from her creamy freckled pelt.
Foxfoot smiled and nodded, slightly taken aback by how easily and quickly she was able to slip out of the tree. She was right, getting down was the easy part. Studying her cream frame with his amber eyes, something lit up in his head. His gaze shifted, raising where an eyebrow would be. "Do we know each other? You look familiar."

"I mean we sleep in the same den every night so..." She let her sentence hang in the air, whiskers twitching with amusement. "My name is Twilightdream. You're Foxfoot, right? I'm pretty good at remembering names and keeping up." She chuckled, observing him curiously. He seemed a bit odd but then again she wasn't exactly typical herself.
The somali nodded. "Nice to meet you. But- I mean, you look a different kind of familiar. Like we knew each other before." While he grew up an orphan, what he lacked in a family he made up for in friends. He had many friends growing up, some he still stayed very close to and some not so much. He felt like he knew Twilightdream as a kit- but he couldn't place a claw on it.

She shrugged casually, walking past him with light foot steps. "Possibly. I didn't play much with other kits when I was young." She added. She knew her presence was bad luck, danger and fear seemed to follow where she let her cream paws touch. "My mother was Astercosmos and my father was Asclepius."
He nodded, taking in her information. Foxfoot found himself mesmerized by her walk, almost in a trance. He shook his pelt, licking at his chest anxiously. Suddenly, amber eyes went wide, like a light went off in his head. "Oh! I know now! You were just promoted!" His white chest puffed out in pride as if he just solved a secret riddle.

She held back a small sliver of annoyance and forced the fur along her spine to lay flat again. It was the truth after all, she wasn't exactly sure why she was being sensitive about that. "Yup. I was the oldest apprentice for a long time. With everything.... no one was considering promotions." Her warrior ceremony was many moons overdue so she couldn't help but feel a bit sensitive over it which was unlike her.
"Hey, hey! I don't mean any harm by it. It's just how I remembered." He offered her a smile and a brush from his feathery tail. "Think about the fact that now you're running with the big boys." Foxfoot chuckled lightly to himself. He was a larger than average tom, but by no means did he even look threatening. His goofy smile and kind eyes kind of ruin it.

"True," she admitted, feeling a bit guilty for becoming defensive suddenly. "Sorry, I just have a sore spot about it for some reason." She admitted. It wasn't really anyone's fault, after all, with the sickness and everything else that had been going on but she also couldn't help how she felt about it either.
