Here on Classic we understand that sometimes life can get difficult and we struggle. She had hoped to have a comfortable day, but it was not to be. When she stepped from her den to greet the morning, the warrior found herself blasted by a freezing wind that nearly blew her back into the den. She shook her head, surprised, then sighed as she made her way shivering into the center of the camp. Breezestep hated the cold, especially when it was windy, and that just made her day worse. The pregnant she-cat wanted to start building her nest in the nursery today, but it would be a long task in the cold, especially when she couldn't count on her mate to help her. He was nowhere to be found these days.
Despite her long plush coat, seemingly thick enough to carry enough warmth for two and then some, another she cat sat in the center of camp in the direct center of the sunlight, still shivering violently whenever the wind blew with even the slightest hint of force. Her face rested in a twisted look of disgust, which seemed almost out of place on her more rounded, feminine features. However, upon seeing the other she cat her eyes light up, her posture turning a bit more amiable.
"Hey, isn't the weather like, incredibly miserable?" Polarfantasy asked, her every word a bit too drawn out in a valley-girl drawl, and her voice equally a bit too loud for being so close to the she cat.
"It is a bit," she agreed, turning to look at the other she-cat with a regretful blink. It would get colder, she guessed, but that wasn't a reassuring though. The sharp wind was worse than if the air had been colder, but stagnant. "One of those days I envy the elders, getting to stay inside their dens and laugh at us fools out in the cold." Breezestep shook her head with a little grimace as the wind blew again. It would be nice to take a break, but someone had to go out and hunt, and that probably meant her.
"Yeah, I feel ya' girl." She drawled out with a nod, follow by a small 'burr' as a cold wind ripped through the clearing. It seemed to barely make a dent in her thick out, but somehow the she cat still shivered violently. "Betcha' they're all nice and snug with a thousand feathers in their nest." Polarfantasy managed out between chattering teeth, though the words were less bitter and much more wistful, more reverie than jealousy.
"I think their nests are warmer than the nursery. You can only have so many feathers in there before the kits destroy the nests in search of toys," she huffed in amusement. "They just can't see feathers without dragging them out and spreading them all over the camp in their games. If only they could hunt birds to replace the feathers they take."
